4 years later I'm still using my samsung a50 with Android 11 software which is still supported today and its still going strong it may have glitches but the phone still provides me the service that i expect of it like calling, receiving calls, texting and multitasking aswell. Well done samsung
I have a Samsung A50 and it actually has the Dolby Atoms sound on it so you can manually set it to music, voice, and ect or put it on audio. And it has a super fast charge I highly recommend it
I have both the Note 9 and A50 and I must say for a phone that cost under $300 compared to a $1,250 Note 9 the A50 really holds its ground against flagships
I previously had the LG stylo 4 which felt like a mediocre phone. But when I came across the Galaxy A50, my life changed for the better. A high performance phone for under $400? Definitely worth it.

It's a great phone, I have one. Reviews are not always accurate and are in the eyes or ears of the beholder. For Example, GSM Arena in their written review said that the vdo quality at 1080p was among the best they'd seen - Personally I think it's terrible compared even to my aging Huawei P9 Lite, however install Open Camera and its a world of difference. I always thought that a camera on a phone is only subject to the hardware, but that's not quite true, the app itself can play a huge role in pic/vdo quality. Also, with Open Camera , you can shoot 4k too, but not with the std camera app. GSM Arena also said that the phones music/audio speaker lacks high end and is not that great - it isn't great, but as an ex audiophile, who's fussy about sound quality, the A50 's speaker is not too bad at all, what it is lacking in a bit is bass, but it has plenty of high and mid range frequencies. I think the A50 will hold its own for many years against the competition.
Samsung's recent updates to the A50 have improved the issues touched on in review in particular the on screen fingerprint scanner and HDR camera settings.
Yeah. I would buy Xiaomi tho they aren't sold here xD. And on top of all of that I did get one from other country and I am currently using it and it's terrible so rip.

as a new owner of galaxy a50 , i can assure you that charging speed is fucking fast , i can get 50% in 15-20 min , less than 1 hour for full charge , one of the main reasons to buy this beast , and it feels just like Samsung S8+

Watching this on my a50. In display Finger print scanner is a disaster. Wtf. Ultra wide is poor detailed though idc about ultra wide. Phone ain't snappy. One drawback of Exynos chips. I love the back/ front camera video quality. Impressive. Amoled screen is the greatest of all time. samsung ONE UI is fucking EPIC. The only reasons why I love this phone. Overall 6.9/10 My suggestion : Wait for pixel 3a
Uhh.... For those who feel that the fingerprint scanner is slow -Go to settings register the same fingerprint 3 times. -Reduce Animations -Update your Software -Enable Touch Sensitivity

I bought the Samsung A50 after watching most all the reviews on RUclips. I was planning to replace my Huawei Mate 20 Lite with the A50. There are many things that haven't been mentioned that you need to know. There are many variations of this phone and only ONE works in the USA. You need to get the SM-A505G/DS or else it won't work in the United States. Next, most videos show the phone looking rainbow and blue so I wanted the blue one. But the very last RUclips video I watched had a blue colored A50 and it was a lighter blue and didn't have the rainbow effect as much. NONE of the RUclipsrs said what color the phone actually is, all you can see is a rainbow. I ordered BLACK just to be safe and the black looks like a rainbow and 99% of the time, it looks BLUE. So get black, not blue! My battery life seems to drain pretty fast and I don't play video games or anything like that. And it takes FOREVER to charge the battery back up. It says it is "fast charging" but I don't believe it. My LCD display on my Huawei Mate 20 Lite was amazing and I had it set for a more colder color compared to warmer. I like my whites to look white and not yellow. The AMOLED screen is actually not as good as the LCD in the Huawei, but it's not too bad either. I had a One Plus 6 and the Samsung A50 screen is better than the OP6. The display color can be adjusted but it won't go as cool as I'd like it to go. My biggest complaints with the phone are the BUGS AND GLITCHES!! The phone rings and I go to answer it and the swipe is delayed. Or I click the icon to use the phone and there is a delay before bringing up the keypad. I have the camera app open and I press the button to take a picture and it doesn't snap the shot either at all or sometimes it'll snap it 3 seconds after I push the button. All the reviewers say that the fingerprint scanner is terrible. They are right. I like to use my pointer finger but it refuses to let me so I use my thumb. When you press your thumb on the screen, a green ring will display on the phone screen and will start to spin until your finger is recognized. IF it works, then it takes about 10 seconds, I am not kidding! Usually after 10 seconds it will say "not recognized". But I prefer Face ID which brings me to the next issue that no RUclipsr reviewer mentions. It doesn't work either! Around the teardrop camera, when you are being scanned, a slow white line starts on the left side of the teardrop and starts to SLOWLY work it's way down and then up around to the right side. It's also about a 10 second process. If it recognizes your face, it will unlock, but most of the people it says "not recognized". I've deleted and rescanned my finger and my face. Now, when the Face ID actually does work, it works in difficult situations. Here is what I've learned. Told do the Face ID, you need to lower your phone down to your chest as the phone looks UP to see your face and that is why the Face ID doesn't work. But at night in a dark room, the Face ID actually works! My OP6 and Huawei neither one would work in the dark which I expected. The One UI software is usable and better to use then a Galaxy without One UI. I've always hated Samsung's UI but I was willing to try this one. It's better but it's buggy. The icons are ugly like a Samsung phone usually is. My other issue with the phone is that it has issues with Facebook. It says "will send message when online", even though I'm on WiFi and have my data on as well. I've restarted the phone and reinstalled Facebook. The other issue that I had, but only once, is that while the phone was charging on my chair, I went to pick it up and it burned my finger. It was too hot to touch. But it hasn't done that since and now AFTER it did that, things seem to run a little faster. Still have fingerprint and Face ID issues, but the battery seems to last a little longer and charges a little faster. Still preferred the Huawei Mate 20 Lite, but even before the trade war issues, I wasn't getting updates on the Huawei. And I sent the Huawei back and it kept coming back to me in the mailbox saying it didn't have enough postage! The seller was supposed to pay postage since he falsely advertised the phone. He advertised it with Android Pie and EMUI 9.0. It had Oreo and EMUI 8.2. Then the seller turned me in for not returning it in time so I couldn't get my money back but after dealing with Ebay and dealing with the seller's games, Ebay gave me my money back and told me I could keep the Huawei phone, so I still have the Mate 20 Lite! So now I don't know what to do. Just wanted you all to understand that the Samsung A50 is more of a budget phone than the lower priced Huawei Mate 20 Lite is. I definitely wouldn't buy a Huawei until we know what is going to happen between Huawei and the USA, but the Samsung A50, compared to the Huawei Mate 20 Lite, is definitely more of a budget phone. The A50 is still a nice phone for the price and maybe after they update the bugs then it'll be really nice, but just letting you all know that it isn't a perfect phone. UPDATE: I had to return this phone due to extreme overheating when charging! It melted a spot on my leather couch! This phone has some nice features but it was without a doubt the buggiest phone I've ever had.
Hi! I can help you improve, please, follow my tips and try it again 1: go on settings and enable High sensitivity display (you should enable when put glass protector) 2: Go into settings, delete your old fingerprint, and scan it again with the screen protection on, and when it arrives at 70%, slide your finger slightly when scanning, so it can take your scan more accurately and faster.. (Sorry, english not my main language, if further explainations are needed, feel free to ask me ^^)
A50 will not be supported for AT&T, per Samsung for the USA version 9-20-19, but it will be supported by other carriers (except AT&T and Cricket) does not have the bands. It may have one band, but if you get out of that one band your up a creek. I really wanted this phone.
My a50 is a jack of all trades, almost no weak spot other than the slow fingerprint sensor and water resistance. After the update it got faster but the face unlock can read my face even at low light most of the time. Asphalt 9 runs smooth too. If youre a casual user its hard to fault this phone and the one ui sold me to this one ;)
Good Review, Although I am not going to give a lick about the back of the phone and how it looks LOL. The U shape when watching videos is annoying but seems most phones are going that way! The main thing I was looking for is where is the Old school head Phone Jack! Also Id like to know how well does it work with Wallet Cases!
I did a speed test with my s10+ vs the A50. Guess what 1to2seconds slower than my plus. Actually there were a few apps that were equal. Not to shabby. At 350.00 for the A50 I highly recommend this phone. Plus your saving hundreds. The camera is not the pixal3a good but above average. You can't beat the price!
Geez! The 12MP photos are making me wonder if I'd ever need GCam w/ Night Sight on this... Also first phone I've ever seen with a 25 MP lens worse than its 12 MP lens...
@XeTrOnIx 109 It's actually not. Night Sight is only in the Pixel camera app known as GCam. It's not included with the smartphones of other OEMs. (Try finding Night Sight on the Moto G7...)

Any latest flagships have the best camera. Go for Note 10, S10, Pixel 3, or iPhone 11 if you want the best camera quality.

Gonna try this. It's very slow compared to other fingerprint sensors, which is annoying and a hassle.
I just miss rear fingerprint sensors. Those worked a lot better.

I bought the Samsung A50 after watching most all the reviews on RUclips. I was planning to replace my Huawei Mate 20 Lite with the A50. There are many things that haven't been mentioned that you need to know. There are many variations of this phone and only ONE works in the USA. You need to get the SM-A505G/DS or else it won't work in the United States. Next, most videos show the phone looking rainbow and blue so I wanted the blue one. But the very last RUclips video I watched had a blue colored A50 and it was a lighter blue and didn't have the rainbow effect as much. NONE of the RUclipsrs said what color the phone actually is, all you can see is a rainbow. I ordered BLACK just to be safe and the black looks like a rainbow and 99% of the time, it looks BLUE. So get black, not blue! My battery life seems to drain pretty fast and I don't play video games or anything like that. And it takes FOREVER to charge the battery back up. It says it is "fast charging" but I don't believe it. My LCD display on my Huawei Mate 20 Lite was amazing and I had it set for a more colder color compared to warmer. I like my whites to look white and not yellow. The AMOLED screen is actually not as good as the LCD in the Huawei, but it's not too bad either. I had a One Plus 6 and the Samsung A50 screen is better than the OP6. The display color can be adjusted but it won't go as cool as I'd like it to go. My biggest complaints with the phone are the BUGS AND GLITCHES!! The phone rings and I go to answer it and the swipe is delayed. Or I click the icon to use the phone and there is a delay before bringing up the keypad. I have the camera app open and I press the button to take a picture and it doesn't snap the shot either at all or sometimes it'll snap it 3 seconds after I push the button. All the reviewers say that the fingerprint scanner is terrible. They are right. I like to use my pointer finger but it refuses to let me so I use my thumb. When you press your thumb on the screen, a green ring will display on the phone screen and will start to spin until your finger is recognized. IF it works, then it takes about 10 seconds, I am not kidding! Usually after 10 seconds it will say "not recognized". But I prefer Face ID which brings me to the next issue that no RUclipsr reviewer mentions. It doesn't work either! Around the teardrop camera, when you are being scanned, a slow white line starts on the left side of the teardrop and starts to SLOWLY work it's way down and then up around to the right side. It's also about a 10 second process. If it recognizes your face, it will unlock, but most of the people it says "not recognized". I've deleted and rescanned my finger and my face. Now, when the Face ID actually does work, it works in difficult situations. Here is what I've learned. Told do the Face ID, you need to lower your phone down to your chest as the phone looks UP to see your face and that is why the Face ID doesn't work. But at night in a dark room, the Face ID actually works! My OP6 and Huawei neither one would work in the dark which I expected. The One UI software is usable and better to use then a Galaxy without One UI. I've always hated Samsung's UI but I was willing to try this one. It's better but it's buggy. The icons are ugly like a Samsung phone usually is. My other issue with the phone is that it has issues with Facebook. It says "will send message when online", even though I'm on WiFi and have my data on as well. I've restarted the phone and reinstalled Facebook. The other issue that I had, but only once, is that while the phone was charging on my chair, I went to pick it up and it burned my finger. It was too hot to touch. But it hasn't done that since and now AFTER it did that, things seem to run a little faster. Still have fingerprint and Face ID issues, but the battery seems to last a little longer and charges a little faster. Still preferred the Huawei Mate 20 Lite, but even before the trade war issues, I wasn't getting updates on the Huawei. And I sent the Huawei back and it kept coming back to me in the mailbox saying it didn't have enough postage! The seller was supposed to pay postage since he falsely advertised the phone. He advertised it with Android Pie and EMUI 9.0. It had Oreo and EMUI 8.2. Then the seller turned me in for not returning it in time so I couldn't get my money back but after dealing with Ebay and dealing with the seller's games, Ebay gave me my money back and told me I could keep the Huawei phone, so I still have the Mate 20 Lite! So now I don't know what to do. Just wanted you all to understand that the Samsung A50 is more of a budget phone than the lower priced Huawei Mate 20 Lite is. I definitely wouldn't buy a Huawei until we know what is going to happen between Huawei and the USA, but the Samsung A50, compared to the Huawei Mate 20 Lite, is definitely more of a budget phone. The A50 is still a nice phone for the price and maybe after they update the bugs then it'll be really nice, but just letting you all know that it isn't a perfect phone.
UPDATE: I had to return this phone due to extreme overheating when charging! It melted a spot on my leather couch! This phone has some nice features but it was without a doubt the buggiest phone I've ever had.

Watching on A50. Not bad in term of performance but the fingerprint not very responsive with screen protector on it.
Hi! I can help you improve, please, follow my tips and try it again 1: go on settings and enable High sensitivity display (you should enable when put glass protector) 2: Go into settings, delete your old fingerprint, and scan it again with the screen protection on, and when it arrives at 70%, slide your finger slightly when scanning, so it can take your scan more accurately and faster.. (Sorry, english not my main language, if further explainations are needed, feel free to ask me ^^)
A50 will not be supported for AT&T, per Samsung for the USA version
9-20-19, but it will be supported by other carriers (except AT&T and
Cricket) does not have the bands. It may have one band, but if you get
out of that one band your up a creek. I really wanted this phone.
When someone call me the ring sound start and the screen still dark for 10 seconds before the caller name appears do u have a solve for this problem
My a50 is a jack of all trades, almost no weak spot other than the slow fingerprint sensor and water resistance. After the update it got faster but the face unlock can read my face even at low light most of the time. Asphalt 9 runs smooth too. If youre a casual user its hard to fault this phone and the one ui sold me to this one ;)
And the idle battery drain which I hope will be fixed with an update

Good Review, Although I am not going to give a lick about the back of the phone and how it looks LOL. The U shape when watching videos is annoying but seems most phones are going that way! The main thing I was looking for is where is the Old school head Phone Jack! Also Id like to know how well does it work with Wallet Cases!

I did a speed test with my s10+ vs the A50. Guess what 1to2seconds slower than my plus. Actually there were a few apps that were equal. Not to shabby. At 350.00 for the A50 I highly recommend this phone. Plus your saving hundreds. The camera is not the pixal3a good but above average. You can't beat the price!

Make it 12MP by making the ratio 3:4 ONLY. And enable HRD in Camera Settings. The 12MP of the A50 is sharper than the 25MP shooter.

Yeah, it looks sharper in the HDR 12MP but less detail than the 25MP.

But i'm only comparing the object from about 10 meter so maybe the more further the object location would make the 25MP less detailed than 12MP + HDR...
