What an awesome interview, Misty. I was absolutely intrigued by Heather Bailey's journey. She brightened my day and I felt so excited when realizing that there are people like her out there in the world. It gave me an internal boost of creativity and provoked thoughts of what am I waiting for, I just need to follow my heart and be true to myself.
I remember "Nicey Jane" - made a few projects from that line. Was so excited to see fabric that wasn't primitive and calico and had a modern flair. These designers and MSQC are forever in my heart for helping me cultivate my love for fabric.
Sewing is an act of LOVE. I started sewing things for my Grandchildren. Baby quilt, a small Rabbit Easter Basket, a Frog! It is my hope that as they get older they value the things I made them. As I cherish the things my Mom & Grandma made me.❤
Finally someone has put into words what sharing LOVE and caring thru handwork and being creative... NEVER keep any of my work... just feels so good to share!
I enjoyed this very much. Heather’s professional journey was fascinating and I love her fabric. Her original artwork is stunning. I’m looking forward to seeing your next guest!
I enjoyed learning how people get to where they are today--it makes me realize that we can always learn. Thank you for this great new show where we can learn so much about others. Keep up the good work!
Great interview, Misty! It was very interesting to hear Heather’s story. ❤Some show and tell of her fabrics, or quilted pieces with her fabrics would really put it over the top for me!
I really loved this episode and the interview and have enjoyed Heather Bailey’s patterns for a number of years. Especially the dolls. Love the whimsy. Will try your fabric. Missouri Star you rock
I love how Misty interacts and has such a natural conversation while drawing out the artists’ story. I don’t want a resume. I want the back story. Great show.
I really think I'm going to like this new series. It's wonderful and heart-warming to see how these creative people think and how they started. We may find there's a little piece of us in each person (who knows.. ).
Loved Home Spun. I am interested in how the life journey goes. Being different is scary and sometimes lonely. Heather was so brave and probably scared at the same time. I honour you. Take care.
Misty, what a marvelous interview.I have loved Heather Bailey’s fabrics since “Nicey Jane” and am so happy that she continues to design fabrics. Often these interviews with designers are kind of fluff, which is fun to listen to, but I feel we got to see the real Heather Bailey today. Excellent interview!
Hello my darling! I love this new Homespun So Much! What an interesting and wonderful interview. She is so fun and awesome! Thank you for sharing your loves with us.
Thank you for this interview! I didn't realize Fresh cut was your 1st fabric line! I used it (the mint with the coral giant flowers) for my great room curtains! Still using and loving them!
Love the new show. Tula Pink and Angela Walters need to be on at the same time. That would be funny because they could talk about how they started working together. They play off each other.
The back wall is a perfect place for a display wall of the designers work that you’re interviewing like you all do on the tutorial set. I think more would be interested if we could see samples and fabric lines from the designer. It is fun to hear how people get to where they are today.
I love Heather’s fabrics. I’m nearly finished piecing an EPP double wedding ring quilt with the True Kisses fabric line. This was a great interview, really interesting.
I sew clothing for myself, as well as quilts. Recently, it occurred to me that it's much better to hand down a quilt than a piece of clothing. My own clothing will not have as much value to them as my quilts will have. As I've gotten older, it has really hit home with me that I need to concentrate on things that I can hand down. Quilts and handmade items have more of the maker in them and that's what people feel when they receive a quilt, doll, or whatever was made other than clothing.
I would teach and volunteer at our local schools. Every year we had Pioneer Days at our local Fairgrounds/Historical Society building. From a small town, you know how things double up. I was in charge of several things, like finger crochet and knitting, quilting, apparel, even candle making and corn shucking. The textile things, I would explain to the boys about mountain men with no wife and they would sew their own things. Then I explained that most women make things for their home and for gifts, and many heirlooms, and occasionally an entry in the County Fair. Men, on the other hand, learned to sew, would somehow always make money. Then I would name a bunch of fashion designers. The boy's eyes would light up! It was so fun. I got them going with the dollar signs every time! They all loved making things with their own hands, only a little help from a grown up, just to get started. Even embroidery was a hit. 😊❤ My girls' classes especially loved all the things they could make, cooking, sewing, knitting, corn shucking and grinding. Many went into businesses of their own, including two of my girls, the other a geriatric nurse. The 2 older girls classes, many students chose such varying courses of study. I like to think, using their imagination guided them in their chosen professions. 😊❤
For a show channel named Homespun, with nary a piece of fabric or quilt in sight, if told this was sponsored by Missouri Star Quilt Company, I would have said, "NO WAY!! Where's the fabric? Where are the quilts?" Good interview, but this is just a podcast because of the bare set and no graphics of Heather's fabrics.
why not include pictures of her works and fabric? ...and ask about her style... aren't actual collections more interesting for us here than trash ties?
What a fun interview!! I love listening to how artists start their careers :). She has such an interesting story to tell! Thank you, Misty!! 💛🌻💛

Loved your new show Misty! What a sweet and fascinating person Heather Baily is! I have always loved her fabric collections!
Great interview! The only thing that would make it better is if we could see samples of Heather's work. Even if it was only an inserted picture.
She did a quilt with Natalie
And had shown off some of her beautiful designs
I loved this interview, can’t wait for the next one!

I love homespuns for rag quilting! So excited to see what this is all about!
Loved it. Very interesting
Love the new show.
Tula Pink and Angela Walters need to be on at the same time. That would be funny because they could talk about how they started working together.

Great suggestion, thank you for the lovely idea. We'll definitely make sure to pass it along to our team.
@@MissouriQuiltCo you are most welcome. No criticism intended. Bless you for all your hard work.

Nice to meet you
I had one of those textile tests with water, matches and microscope-was really a tough class!
I would have loved to see her fabric line.
Great interview!

More Folkloric, does that express it?

Nice first episode. I think the set could use a little work.
Great interview!
