I wanted to learn how to groom my teacup poodle at home. I now see the trade craft and have a respect for your talent. I will happily pay a pro groomer to treat my little fella. Thank you for the info!
I am a veterinary technician, and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for stressing the importance of brushing your dogs teeth and dental cleanings! Such an important topic that so many people overlook!
I was looking for a Teddy Bear cut and yours was perfect! I extremely impressed with how you did fur above paws and face is super cute. Wish you groomed near me.
poodles do actually have hair not fur. not trying to be rude or anything. love your videos. you did such a good job on that poodle. i would feel so amazing/cool walking with a cute dog like that.
@@RUclipsOverTV I wouldn't say she's rough, but firm and confident. If the dog senses that you aren't, they become ancy and constantly pull away which can be dangerous/ painful for them. My toy poodle is the same way.
vanessa gaitor I’m sorry but do you not see how rough she is being with the dog? I’m sure you wouldn’t want your dog treated like that unless you really hate it
I really learned a lot from your video! When you are trimming the back, sides, legs, and chest, what size blade are you using? Also, can you make a video on a "lamb cut" for my toy poodle, please?
You're an excellent professional groomer and every step you take You know exactly what you're doing. Very meticulous. I like hearing you explain what you're doing your dog is incredibly well behaved. The only thing I would ask is to take out the music I didn't like it it distracts. I don't think now that I've watched your work that I would be able to do duplicate what you're doing you are a true pro. 🐩
My poodle would've gave you major problems.. he has never done well with groomers.. so I'm learning. Thanks for the video and tips. The pup looks AMAZING
@@hisroyalty14 Thank you so much! I started him off as a puppy so I was able to get him used to everything. I love when owners start them off young. Puppies are so easy to train. :) He's really fun to groom.
You make the grooming process so simple. Thank you for the demonstration. Can you please post on the blade number and the comb attachment .number you used on Milo's body and legs.
wow!!! awesome video, one of the best if no the best tutorial on grooming i've seen and i've seen a lot. You should do more!!!, please. You teaching, it is so natural. great work. you should make one on clippers, which ones have you tried, which ones are more quiet and which ones have better quality and don't break so easily. I want one and can not design between a andis cgd2, 5 speed excel pro or wahl km10....any recommendations?
Thank you for mentioning the brands. I need a better set. My dog has hair not fir. I tried grooming him this time before a wash and i think its much better to do it after. His hair on his chest, legs.. is so uneven because its not full after drying that it didnt turn out as good. Much easier to fo after i wash and dry him.
Beautiful job! My groomer retired and the new one does not know how to do a teddy bear cut. So I will give it a try. How do you do the eye area cleaned?
I have a mini poodle. I took her 2 different occasions to get a hair cut but she doesn’t let them cut her hair at all. They claim that she’s afraid and shows anxiety. Can you please give me some tips how to help her through this. Her hair is super long and she really needs a haircut really bad.
Mini poodles tend to be extra nervous in any setting, at least mine is but I can assure you they are the happiest pups on this earth, he appreciates the cut more than anything;)
My toy poodle starts shaking when he's being bathed. I've had him for 4 months (he's 7 monththe old) and he's only been bathed 3 times since he came home. If it was a usual part of his routine, like brushing, I'm sure he'd take it in stride and not shake. So he is stressed during this time, but he feels so good and is happy and back to normal afterward. Sort of like me and the dentist! 😉
That was my first thought in the first 20 seconds of this video. This broad is rough with this little dog and he will suffer hip, knee and elbow trauma especially as he gets older with the way she man handles his little body.
Yes I use the Chris Christensen Xtreme dryer. Here is the link: www.cherrybrook.com/chris-christensen-xtreme-dryers/?sku=17-162-P&gclid=Cj0KCQiAys2MBhDOARIsAFf1D1fn5Ypo7qdz_4dFggIBoH4t_KV9ioRwGyfH_W9dYPHcrXDCt0plOj4aAtRaEALw_wcB
I don't understand how to get the dog to stay still. If i even lift his tail to see if there is poop on his hair he flips out. I've tried to hold him still and get another person to check or wipe and he is so wiggly he can't be held. My only thought is maybe we can drug him with melatonin or gabapentin or something. For now trying patience and persistence. Is this something dogs will grow out of, or did I adopt a hypersensitive pup?
Overall, I really enjoyed your video. Please consider not using a music background on your next video. The music was very loud and your speaking was almost muted. I am very new to grooming and I don't completely understand blades, their numbers, when to use them and when to use the guards. It looked like you did a LOT of scissoring, too. Thanks for taking the time to create this video.
Hi I got a couple questions.. What size guard did you use for the body and legs? You shaped and trimmed his face using scissors but what about the top of the head... Do you use scissors only to shape or do you also use the clippers there? Thanks
t monfero Hey! I used an A comb attachment with a 40 blade underneath for his legs and body. I didn’t use a comb attachment on top of his head. I just used curved scissors to shape it.
I loved the video, but oh dear that muzac is so loud! Would it be possible to have any music at the same volume as your excellent voice over? I was up and down with the volume switch and it makes it difficult to concentrate. I really appreciate you sharing your wealth of knowledge and experience, thank you.

I believe fur does not keep growing hair keeps growing. So in the case of a poodle it is hair. You are an awesome groomer !!!
Please show more tutorials for teddy bear grooming on mini, toy poodles. I love the work you do. 😘

It is hair. Fur falls out at a certain length, where as hair grows continuously.

Yes! I definitely will.

I think they give my mini poodle Cbd for dogs when I take him to get groomed. Mellows him out.
I honest to God think that dog is just frozen from fear and trauma. she's way to rough with him.

Usually I don't care for the teddy bear cut but I really like this 1! So cute. I think must be the closer cut on the cheeks.
He’s so well behaved and the hair cut clip is beautiful
I would appreciate a video with the emphasis on the face, neck, top of head and under and around the ears.
Thank you Addie
You were correct calling the poodles hair “hair”. Poodles do not have fur. Amazing Job. 🥰
She's rough but she knows her own dog. The dog isn't hurt or he wouldn't stay still like that.

You did an awesome job!
actually with poodles, you should say hair. they’re one of the only breed that has hair like us. not fur at all. that’s why they don’t shed.
Exactly
Actually curly hair does shed, just not as much as a regular double coated dogs fur (labs for example). Love these guys 😇
Your absolutely right Nessa,, curly hair on purebred Poodles don't shed, I've had 7 in my lifetime and not one has ever shed

It is possible to get the job done while still being gentle with the dog🙄 He looks so uncomfortable and stressed..

Griot's Garage 92526 Multi Pattern Nozzle on Amazon ;) Best $15 ever spent.
He's slstressed, which isn't overall a bad thing for grooming... But wet brushing is so scary! It pulls
Do you mix water with the shampoo in the hose gun, or do you just add straight shampoo and let it mix with the water on its own?
I add straight shampoo and the water starts adding in by itself.
