Thomas's layout is one of the most realistic settings anyone will ever see in model railroading. This gentleman has the "eye" for what looks real, and what does not. I've seen some beautiful layouts, and I'm not trying to take anything from anyone else's work, but I continue to be mind blown every time I see Thomas's work. He is truly inspiring and compelling!!!!

I hope the lights on the new -3 models are as bright as the lights are on the model in the video. We have got to put as must emphasis on prototype lighting as we do everything else. This is something that is still lacking, and takes from the model dramatically!!!!
@Scaletrains I found one on ebay lol, from the 2019 run. It's a great model. Whenever you decide to offer another run I'll more than likely purchase one. Thank you for your reply. Unless they changed the 645 to reflect that on the sound card, that sounds like trash. I’ve been running sd-40’s for 25 years and that doesn’t sound at all like a 40.
It shouldn’t, because SD40-3s don’t really sound like SD40-2s at all. When they were rebuilt, they had new exhaust silencers fitted to them, among many other things, that make them sound very different from a regular 645-equipped SD40-2. I have been working with or around CSX Dash 3s for nearly 8 years, and they absolutely nailed the sound.
