I just got two baby rats, so I'm watching videos for tips and ideas this lead me to your channel, your video has given me some ideas on things to get for their cage so thank you. Enjoy your new rats, I will subscribe to see more of your journey.
@@SparklyRainbowWolves yeah, when I first got my rats I was terrified they had Respiratory Infection, but after about 4-5 days of getting used to their large new cage, they stopped sneezing.
This video is so wholesome!! All your rats look so cute and I love your set up♥️ Ive had hamsters my whole life but now I really want to adopt a couple rats, so this is really helpful
I know you’ve had them for awhile now but I personally buy the oxbow adult rat food but I buy the 25 pound bag it’s cheaper for how much you get also be careful with the hay
you should try a little litter box for them and add a little rock in it ass they like to pee on them. that would be very good and save having to clean bedding out as much. and when you do clean them out rub everything down with viniger mixed with water it helps the smell, and lowers the chances of rbf (rat bite fever)
Idk I feel like I am commenting way to much, but I was taking some inspiration from your cage design, and I wanted to ask, where did you get those baskets?
You have the same cage as us! Great choice :-) But the filler is not suitable, rats cannot be shavings - they can prick their paws. Rats have a very interesting white strand on their head - I see it for the first time :-)
@@kennywebb5173 The cage is called "Critter Nation" there is also another cage wich is the exact same but with bigger spaces between the bars called "Ferret Nation" ^^
I think I watched this video when I got my rats a year ago, and now I'm getting two more in a couple weeks, and it popped up in my feed again. Even better the second time 😁
I am very late, but this is often spread around so I thought I would chime in: this isn’t true. Please do research before spreading misinformation! Hay is about as dangerous to rats as grass is to humans. Should we eat it? Depends on what type, but most likely no. Will it kill us? No. Hay is actually a really good way to add enrichment (my rats love to use it as nesting material) and, unless coated or added into something, rats will not attempt to eat it. It’s just not that appealing. I understand if YOU don’t let your rats have hay because of potential blockage, but warning other people off of it with the wrong information (/without context) probably isn’t the move you think it is. This isn’t hate-it’s just kind of annoying how no one thinks to fact check the things they hear in the community and taking them completely to heart.
have you checked out Emiologys channel? and Isamu rat care and the rat guru. they have some great ideas but seeing this makes me think you have done your research so if you have then ignore this. hope this helps!
I love this sssosoooooo much and it's actually exactly how I want my cage but I would like to just say for 4 rats that cage is too small each rat needs at least 2.5 cubic feet💚💚💚
Be sure to wash your hands in between handling different species or else you will get bit😮😮 I've got mice and gerbils and hamsters and birds and you always have to wash your hands even if you've handled one bedding from 1kg must wash your hands before interacting with a different species
I've had rats for years. The ones I have now are male rex dumbo selfs. One is beige. The other one is dark gray. I have 2 hamsters, but they've never bitten me. I have a tri-color degu. Oh yeah, and a hedgehog. 🐀🦔🐾
You can't have duct tape because rats can choke the tape piece. And rats can't ever have hay, they can't digest in the stomach. What are you doing? Are you not using the internet to research?😒
This is their first time having rats I'm pretty sure so you shouldn't be mad at them. People will educate them and hopefully they'll update things they've done wrong
I really hope she upgraded these guys

@@wormy_king1845 I was JUST ABOUT to comment that! nice to see another Emiology follower.
there so cute, their sneezing always makes me paranoid though lol. rats are amazing I'm getting some more soon too can't wait!
Rats will sneeze in new environments but if it doesn’t go away it’s likely they have an upper respiratory infection

for inside the baskets I think you should hide treats to make it a forage toy. its good stimulation.

awww! your new babies are so so so cute! rats are the best!
Tip:if you put a blanket that has your sent on your rat cage it will make them feel like they are safe and they like to be in the dark
They will use the water dish as a bath tub

Hi the dog box is great, the only thing I’ll say is it needs to be deeper as they aren’t really able to dig in it :)

Rat update pleasseee!!!!!
Also you should upgrade the cage If you don't have enough money to buy a big one you can but a used one that's less money
I think the Cage size is fine honestly
she has a double critter nation, the best cage for rats in the states :l
