      Day 2:
      “You feel increasingly worse and are running a fever. However you still must work. You take OTC medications and hope this is the worst of it.”
      Day 3 and beyond:
      “While barely keeping yourself conscious at work, you get up to use the bathroom and collapse onto the floor. A colleague calls an ambulance and you are rushed to the emergency room. You have a serious infection that requires IV antibiotics and a hospital stay of a week. You feel much better after, but then you see the bill. $80,000. You will never be able to pay it off even with financial assistance. You will likely be forced to declare bankruptcy, wiping out your attempt at building good credit. Furthermore, your boss is very unhappy that you were gone for a week. Any chance of a raise is now highly unlikely. You might even get fired because your employment is “at-will”. The good news is that the profits of the company you work for are up 20%. The executives received bonuses of at least a couple hundred thousand dollars each. Also a son of one of the executives, whose work is lackluster at best, received a promotion increasing his compensation by 30%. He also gets the same time off as the executives, an amount similar to what Europeans get by law.”

    This episode tickled my inner child. I love the way you played this character in this. I always wanted the cheat codes to have mass wealth just to live a overly ridiculous boujee lifestyle and here you were purposefully struggling and strategically hustling your way to the top with hilarious commentary and smart ideas on how to get your money up being stingy and frugle as a scrounge mcduck could possibly be. 😂😂 Great run! This made my day today.

    00:35 yeah that was the point. No joke that was the mission statement of the first Sims. It's about how stupid the "keeping up with the Jones'" mentality is and how you end up buying expensive things that make your life worse because they break and make you miserable.
    This was stated by the lead designer of the game.

    the Sims 1 is still a really fun game to play today and you can even find mods for it, although sadly most of the related websites had shut down;
    anyway my current neighbourhood is entirely populated by wizards, mermaids, furries, anime characters and cannibals who are all living much happier and fulfilling lives than an average sim would so take that as you will
