    I love this.
I've seen folks moving upwards using this strategy.
I always found it strange. Thanks for putting this into this concise unfiltered video 😃

Unfiltered thoughts indeed and they are spot on. If you cannot claim Agency, you have no business being a leader. You may touch some sensitive nerves with this one and loose a few high flying followers though :)

So damn true and this is wat is happening in my company and really hats off to the way you explained it.. But do you think that is right? What if we are not going n showing it as a a big problem, then no one thinks that we are working these days.. This has become the kind of optics that everyone does even in the company I work.. how can we change this ?

LOL, super insightful. Nobody gets credit for solving problems that no one else saw.

Reviewing my experiences, i’ve seen examples of what you shared. But i want to ask, can upper managers or supervisors look at other metrics to decide who delivers more value, and not get biased on the problem scope that people broadcast?
What kind of works/projects in which u think this kind of move often takes place?
    Thank you.

Is "How do I get to the next level?" not the "right" way to operate if one is optimizing for career growth? I'm noticing politics and optics affect careers and promotions much more than the ability to get shit done in the various firms I've worked at.

the real solution to most problems is offered by engineers, not product managers.
Product managers then draft out very good mails and send them to top management detailing about the product accomplishments 😅

There are organizations that are too R&D centric, where they propose solutions for a non-existent problems.
Product managers are responsible for identifying a worthwhile problem worth solving, defining the problem, defining requirements & success criteria and being accountable for the product/project.
R&D is responsible for the solution.
Product managers can contribute to the solution.
I’ve been on both sides, and seen egos of both sides tank important work.
