    Jokic is 26, has an MVP, and has a career PER of 26. He just had a PER of 31, which has only been accomplished 23 times in a season. He's also the greatest passing big man of all time. I would put him as a near lock.

      Right, Jockic just keeps having good seasons and it's a lock. Also, sometimes we forget he is probably the best passing big of the history.

      Casey brings up the injuries effecting Jokic's MVP, but he doesn't mention that Jokic's Historic MVP season is statistically superior than the majority of MVPs not named LeBron or MJ. Jokic is on par with Larry Bird.

      I would put him above gobert and on par of drose's case before his injury. If he finishes his career at this level for like 8+ years, he can have a case like russ. if he wins a chip or gets close a couple times, he is somewhat similar to giannis's case. I'm just really debating how NEAR near-lock means, so I guess he can be considered near lock

    Derozan will have his number retired by the Raptors. Unlike Vince, Demar actually loved playing in Toronto. The only reason he’s gone is cos he was traded… for Kawhi… who brought them a ring. So, indirectly, Demar still helped them win a chip. Not saying he’ll go to the Hall, but I’m pretty sure Toronto will retire his number.

    watching this in 2022 is really interesting. I think Jokic has now jumped up to hof lock. D-Rose is a big strech but I could see the league inducting him in bcuz mvp. Big miss on DeRozan but if it's for only this season then I still think he has a chance. Marcus won DPOY and could very well win a championship this year so that should bump him up to near locks. Horford can be inducted in the hof maybe (especially how he clamped up giannis) Blake is just not going to make it. He is washed and did not contribute anything to that nets team so he's ruled out. I can see john wall if he makes a return but probably not. Klay is definetley a HOF. Especially with the show he put up against the mavs. He's just 4 games away from winning the chip and it's very much possible

    The basketball Hall of Fame takes in account all stages of a players' career such as college, NBA, the olympics, FIBA, etc. Carmelo is a guaranteed lock due to his overall career success so I understand why he makes it even without winning a chip. Impact on culture does count towards the Hall of Fame but please explain why a player like Kyrie Irving gets in? Outside of scoring and winning a chip with LBJ, what qualifies him for the HOF? He's never lead a team to the playoffs and has sustained injury every year since leaving Cleveland. He may be a Top 50 scorer of all-time when his career is over but how does that qualify him over a player like Klay Thompson?

    I agree with almost all of your takes but I think demar has a chance. I think he's comparable to a player like john wall. Both were dominant eastern conference players for a while but after getting traded/injured, both fell off. Demar helped establish toronto's culture and was the first star who wanted to stay in Canada. I don't see how wall is over demar except how he was better for a slightly longer period of time.

Chris Webber shouldn't be a debate, his time as a part of the Fab 5 at Michigan was culturally impactful on another level. Making Sacramento relevant should also be considered bonus points lol 😂

    • @maxwellscialabba4687
      @maxwellscialabba4687 3 года назад

      While I'd rather him win a finals just based on his narrative, I think he's an absolute lock with an MVP. If he wins an MVP next year (and is 1st Team / All Star), he'd be 2/4/1 All NBA, 7x All Star, MVP, likely >100 WS, and his 2019 WCF run. He's probably a lock with a ring too (unless he's like 39 and falls off quickly), but I could see more of an argument against.

    I think there's a gap between Westbrook, Howard, and Anthony compared to the other locks. Still a >95% they get in, but I'd call them near locks and have the next tier below them be something like "Should Get In" (~75-80%). Giannis is debatable too just because his career is so short, but nearly everyone already considers him top 50 of all time.
