10:58 Annnnnd now this becomes the most important comment to pin. Julia and I are together, I see Jude every single day. I meant that I WATCH him once a week. Julia is home 2 days with him and my mother-in-law takes him 2 days. I usually have him on Mondays or Fridays. I was trying to put a positive spin on watching my son, thus, "I GET to be with him..." I see now that the wording would totally lead you to believe Julia and I are divorced. We aren't! Happier than ever! Sorry for the confusion!
Aren’t we going to talk about how in the first film that Jack-Jack’s babysitter makes him listen to Mozart and in the second film he responds positively to it?
fun fact: the Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone theme songs were written the morning they were due, and were used exactly as written, no changes! Procrastination at its finest. And he only wrote them day of because he had other things to write and kept pushing the songs back and then forgetting about them
I'd like to point out an additional win - Why did Evelyn's scheme fail? A moment of hesitation. Evelyn had the complete control of numerous heroes. By all rights, the only thing that would stop her would be an equal number of other supers. But yet the reason her scheme crumbled was simply because for one brief moment, a baby started floating toward her screen, and she was so bewildered that she didn't think fast enough to order the baby to be discarded. And that baby threw a spanner in the works, removing Helen's goggles and giving her a brief window to free the others. Her plan was executed perfectly. A random moment of confused hesitation cost her everything. Awesome.
I feel like Dash could have just ran really fast and taken off everyone's goggles. Movie over. Of course, that's the probably with speedster's in general because they can literally solve almost any problem.
I agreed with Pikri, besides, Dash still a kid learning to use his power, he don’t have enough experience like the adult, maybe a little scared flash can make him fail
Something I've been thinking about a lot since I saw Edna in Incredibles 2 is that perhaps her hatred of capes might be a little more personal than I had thought. After all, its made pretty clear in the first movie that SHE designed a massive chunk of the designs of the super heroes, so there is a good chance that a few of their cape related deaths might have weighed heavily on her conscience. Perhaps she feels personally responsible for what happened to them? After all, she remembers the exact name, time, and cause of the death for each of the accidents, almost as if she's been repeating them to herself to make sure she never forgets. Maybe it explains why she gets so passionately angry at the prospect of capes, because she's terrified she might cause someone else to die.
And it would also impact Edna's pride. She is a master designer, but all of the heroes she gave costumes to were felled by the cape. It would sting to know that these heroes she knew were felled by the cape she inserted into the design.
I'd like to think she knew from the get-go capes were a no-go, and that the others' suits were created by other people. Their deaths just backs up her claim
Can we talk about YOUR attention to detail?! I’m over here feeling like I need to watch all over again so I can notice even half of what you pointed out in this video! Great work!
I wonder if dash is the way he is because he processes everything so fast, like the hyper activity is from everyone else being so slow from his perspective
I LOVE the fact that the animators made Helen talk mostly out of the left side of her mouth. Holly Hunter, who voices her, is deaf in her right ear, and so talks out of the left side of her mouth too!
The way Violet was screaming when Krushauer was shrinking her force field was absolutely bone-chilling. Vi had two choices in that scene: Drop the shield and risk getting electrocuted to death OR risk getting crushed to death just by KEEPING the shield up!
I kinda think Bob is so angry when talking about the train scene is that his train scene saved countless lives, yet he had a lawsuit on his hands. And when Helen gets similar results, she still does it cleaner, proving Bob is too messy, and driving home how he should wait to super-hero it up.
Ive also interpreted that his pride is still extremely high, and he would rather be out in the world doing the same thing as Helen (hero stuff) because hes... Mr Incredible.
And don't forget that this came not even a day after Mr. Incredible's high from superheroing and defeating Syndrome. Of course he would strive to get the same kick like a cocaine addict scavenging for a little of the elusive white powder
@@Doublemonk0506 You're right, but it was kind of those two inciting incidents that got him the law suit. The attempted suicide, and then the train accident.
10:20 I also like to think Evelyn's suit is inferior to her suit she got from Edna. Looks good, can stretch but no where near as durable or protective. On purpose mind you, to make this fight harder for her.
Saferoom, not cellar. I suspected the sister ever since I heard Winston HAD a sister. Winston in all the trailers looks like "oh sure, I'm gonna be the bad guy" but very few of the trailers show Evelyn. My thought process was something like "so this guy, looks like a bad guy but too obvious, supposedly has a sister but she doesn't really have a role in the trailers? Yeah, it's probably her." And Cinemasins had a good point. PUT THE SUPER PHONES *IN* THE SAFEROOM!
Nah, that's an actual sensible response. Having a decent sense of self-preservation over grandstanding comic book heroics doesn't make you obviously evil in my book. Though it does show her different attitude, you're right in that.
Well... she's right. It was an avoidable death (or rather they'd have been MUCH safer) had they had any sense of self-preservation and had locked themselves in the saferoom (and put communication devices in the saferoom) rather than going for comic-book heroics. Literally, reality ensued there, the bad guys aren't going to wait around and let the heroes show up. Which to me kinda gave Evelyn a decent motivation for her actions. She's still angry, she's still wounded by it. I think it's less "I hate super-people" (although that's still there for sure) but more "I hate the sloth, lethargic mindset that came out of there being super-people - which no doubt has led to several unnecessary deaths and people putting more faith in supers saving their skins instead of preserving their own skin." She wanted people to fend for themselves if they can. If it's out of their depth, yeah, let the supers handle the situation if they're around, but don't expect them to.
@@Metroid22540 I think that motivation bled into the Screenslaver alter ego, where she complains about people laying back and "consuming" rather than being part of their own lives. Actively participating in your own life would include, in her eyes, standing up for yourself instead of hoping someone would step in and save the day.
Favorite thing I noticed watching the movie for the first time a week ago: There's some duality between Mr Incredible's 'stopping a train' fiasco that was indicative of the downfall of superheros in the 1st movie, vs Elastagirl's (and by extension all Supers') comeback being kickstarted by saving a train
Precisely what I picked up in that scene. No doubt he feels hard done by when seeing that his actions are mirrored back at him as possitive, that he is unable to right what he percieves as his wrong of criminalising supers.
Not to mention she lets her guard down after saving the passengers only to have it violently rammed by the control car. That would have hurt people far more than being gradually slowed by Bob slowing/stopping the train in the first one. Pretty much everyone on the train in this movie should have at least some sort of severe whiplash from that hit.
@@markreid6251 I think the main difference there is that it has been quite a while since Bob's train incident so the safety features of the trains themselves would've gotten upgraded a lot, likely in response to the injuries that resulted from Bob's incident or other similar ones
Really late to the party but I wanna add something on anyway: in the mansion while battling the hypnotized supers, frozone shouted for the kids to control the incredibile. His voice made the car's screen light up to display frozone's face, meaning that it recognised him, meaning that Bob had trusted frozone even wayyy back then. I love their friendship
I love how Violent creating her force fields is now second nature and she's not the little girl scared to make them anymore. She's a confident young woman now who will protect her family🤷
Not sure if you'll read this comment (as channels as big as yours tend to avoid them like the plague) but I must say that I appreciate all the work you put into your videos. I haven't watched a significant amount of the movies you riff on but just listening to you gush appreciatively about these films in the sea of cynicism, negativity and nitpickery that is the internet is just a breath of fresh air.
I whole-heartedly agree. This is the main reason I'm subscribed to CinemaWins and NOT CinemaSins. ... Also because CinemaSins is trash on every conceivable level.
I couldn't agree more. There's far more negativity on the internet than positivity and it is EXTREMELY refreshing to see a RUclipsr that's all about looking at the positives! Nothing wrong with genuine criticism assuming the intent is to improve for future products, but man the extreme hate I keep seeing for this film just baffles me. I feel unwelcome at times for even *liking* this film because of how many people hated it and want to shit on those who don't feel the same way......
@@blackcat19 That's because you have very few levels you can conceive. CinemaSins and CinemaWins are two sides of the same coin. So for example CinemaWins points out cliché dodges while CinemaSins points out clichés. If I love a movie I can't wait for both the CinameSins and the CinemaWins video. Dare I say CinemaSins videos are even more fun, stuff like the "Prometheus school of running away from things" are gold.
A few things. 1rst, the teaser frame isn't accurate. I'm going to put that off a few weeks for obvious reasons. Next week will be something you'll love instead though, I promise. 2nd, I've been getting "are you ok?" comments a lot lately. Thank you for asking! I am totally fine, I've just been recording late at night a lot because my schedule and life is a little crazy right now. So my voice sounds a little...well, tired. Hoping it doesn't take away from your enjoyment. I was super hyped about this movie, not sure it always comes across in the sound of my voice.
Also, per usual wrong "they're" at 1:02 doesn't get noticed by me until I hit publish. That's what happens when you change "their capabilities" to "they're capable" and you don't sleep.

@@CinemaWins Ok, good choice for a review film, but you've forgotten another Disney film to review, Treasure Planet! Hopefully you can rectify this mistake.
The scene with Bob trying to push down his feelings is a heart wrenching mood. I've felt that before when my girlfriend got to do the school musical and I didn't pass the audition, I was so happy for them but every time it was brought up I just felt even more sorry for myself that I couldn't do it and it took everything I had to go watch the final product in the end, especially when this fun thing only they got to do took them away from me for a while and I didn't get to see them after school, just like how Helen was taken away from home. Every thought and compliment I gave them nailed in how alone and left out I felt. I get it, it's not misogyny its just normal human emotions.
"If supers could be taken over so easily" Most sources on hypnosis make it very clear that being hypnotised can't make you do something you dont want to do. Especially not when it goes against your ethics or morals. Evelyn PERFECTED hypnosis if she could force superheroes to harm innocents and honestly knowing that made her a really intimidating villain for me on my first time watching
Hypnotist here. It's generally not possible to make someone do something they don't want to do. However, with time and effort, it is possible to change what someone wants.
I wonder how happy all the animators would be if they watched this video. They would probably freak out that someone actually noticed and is recognizing all the small things that makes the movie so good, but that we would never even notice watching the movie through the first time.
Bob losing his patience and freaking out about Math being changed and Dash trying to calm him down like, "Lhfbfiweb Dad it's okay," is so hilariously accurate to my life that I burst out laughing in theaters when this came out.
One detail I like in the movie is one of Bob’s exclamations is “Yeah, Baby!” Something that Dash says a few times throughout the movie. Like father like son…
A win you missed is how well they did updating the character models with modern animating technology. You can see Bob in Dash's face; it's so obvious that they're related. I can't imagine how difficult it was to design characters that resemble each other like that.
2:01 I’m surprised that he didn’t point out that the statue is actually a statue of dynaguy. In which foreshadows winstons love for superheroes in which his father built as well as mr.incredibles favorite super costume!
There's one thing you forgot to mention! When Helen threw the chair out of the window, she made sure to throw it so it didn't fall to the ground and possibly injure someone. She threw it and it landed on another roof!
Cinemawins, were you previously an animator or did you work in cinematography? I feel like most of us folks wouldn't catch the kinds of stuff you appreciate and notice. Thanks again for an excellent celebration of a great film.
I think caused it his work as cinemawins, his first videos are more rough (if I remember correctly, he even mention this in one of his video) and it was similar with another RUclipsr (who I watch) who started to see movies in different way after starting reviewing them.
@@nieznajomy4398 cinnama sins? I noticed that too. But I like this guy better, less swearing. Though sins is kinda funny.... wins, hes a different level of awesome! Also the first movie was made when j was born! I watched it as a little kid, every, single, day. I loved it almost as much as xmen back then.
Lee, my guy, let me just say (even if you dont end up reading this I just wanna get it out there) that Im soooooo beyond thankful for you and this channel, man. When I first came across CinemaWins, it was at a point in time I was getting really burned out on all the negativity that gets centered around films and the filmmaking process, and I was so completely irritated that everyone with any kind of opinion always tends to nitpick, that most reviewers "two cents" were so cynical or far too critical while leaving out all the things there genuinely was to like about them. Even if the movies were flawed beyond belief, seeing the good so often ignored just really got to me. So needless to say I was INSTANTLY hooked on my first EGA video. Hearing someone celebrate all the good things about films, the little things and the subtle details that go into making movies that a lot of people dont always see and appreciate, like the sound design, the lighting, the cinematography, the deeper themes below the surface themes, ect ect. I appreciate you always working so hard on these videos and doing such good research, showing the pros along with weighing the cons as well, and being as objective as possible while still recognizing your own bias and still managing to be so positive no matter how critical you do get. & Seeing this channel grow from an affectionate parody/reversal of CinemaSins into what it is now, a celebration of cinema and all these amazing creators creating amazing creations, it's been so rewarding. And even better to be along for the ride, hearing about you becoming a dad and all the little family anecdotes you throw into your videos about Julia, and now Jude as well. It really makes me (and others as well Im sure) feel like family as well and i feel blessed to be a part of it all. Thank you for everything, Lee. You're a great guy and you deserve all the success in the world.
I'm so glad you saw this guys' comment; it perfectly encapsulated my feelings towards the "hate/critic train" that became so popular on YT, and how your channel (and you and your family) is just so awesome and such a breath of fresh air. I'm a very optimistic guy myself (kinda borne from spite towards my research advisors' cynicism, and partially just always how I've been), and getting to see such well-researched, well-thought out, and very charismatically put celebration of the positives of movies is very much appreciated. Thanks for being awesome, and I personally hope you grow to become even bigger than that cynical YT channel you started out parodying! :)
You've encapsulated my feelings completely! I grew tired of the negative (lazy) videos of CinemaSins and when I came across this channel, it was a literal breath of fresh air. I love film and I love the community that appreciates what it is over nitpicking every irrelevant aspect that shouldn't take away from the art of it.
I honestly thought this was an amazing movie that blended perfectly with the first one. I wish it did better than it did in theaters. The only thing I wish they changed was the strobe lights. I'm not epileptic but I even got a bit of a headache watching the scene. The subtle jokes were fucking fantastic
What do you mean, “do better at the box office?” The movie made nearly 1.25 Billion dollars. It’s was the second highest grossing animated film and still is the highest grossing Pixar film.
Binging some CinemaWins to help my mood. Just realized something about the lightling Lee commented on at 3:06 What was Elastigirl's original suit colour? Red. What was Mr. Incredible's original suit colour? Blue. Might be unintentional but the colours of the light matches the colours they used to use.
@@ChenoWolf I think it's more like the family's suits are red while "Mr Incredible" had a blue suit originally. Helen wants to protect the family best she can, knowing superhero work is a double edged sword, Bob wants the rush of supering again (since he's probably still on the underminer high)
11:15 Anyone notice that Edna is wearing a kimono? That's paying homage to her heritage that we didn't get to see in the first movie. For those of you who didn't know, Edna is German-Japanese. Therefore, in this movie, she's wearing a kimono, while in the first movie she was wearing her own avant-garde designed clothes. Either way, she still looks like a badass dragon!
"Momentum, a function of mass and velocity, is conserved between portals. In layman's terms: speedy thing goes in, speedy thing comes out." I swear just you referencing portal makes me happy
OK, but what if the Portal is the speedy thing? Is it like those old Wild West barn wall falls with a window over a character Or does it's momentum translate to the object? My money is on Wild West Window but there's a surprising amount of argument online about it...
@@DraconicDuelist OK, this is a _way_ late response, sorry about that, but you have a cool point. I had to really sit and think about it for a while. Frankly, the point of the Portal is that it's not actually... matter? It seems to be a kind of antimatter which creates an impermanent void that entangles two concrete points in spacetime. Essentially, it's not warping _space,_ it's folding _time_ in on itself to _warp space,_ as the Theory of Relativity demonstrates that time and space are irrevocably intertwined, and if space is a fabric, then it follows that time likely is as well. That was a lot of build-up for me to say a Portal is in essentia, nothing. The part that does the Portal thing is never the part you interact with when passing through the Portal. I posit this: momentum based on a moving Portal is actually based on the surface the Portal is placed upon. If the entry point is moving, then it's like the Wild West Window where you won't be moving at the far end unless otherwise acted upon by an outside force. If the _exit_ point is moving, then you'll be moving as much as that surface would move you (because you had to expend energy to move through a stationary Portal, you already have forward momentum.) If BOTH sides were moving and you expended no energy, you would be stationary and the Portal would move around you. Using the Wild West Window analogy, if you were somehow completely stationary when you moved through the entry Portal, and the exit Portal were falling forward, the exit Portal would just catch back up to you and shove you back out the way you came. Don't get caught between two Wild West Window Portals, or you will go squish between the floors the Portal halves are falling to, likely with the force exerted by double gravity if both Portal surfaces attain terminal velocity.
@@QuantumWaltz Very nice response and thought process. I like it! The reason I posted my comment originally was because I'd seen several people prior arguing over how the physics would work, and there were decent arguments for both possibilities. I mostly wanted to see if anyone would come up with any cool arguments for either position. Which you did!
@@DraconicDuelist Or, as I like to think: Making a portal is like punching a hole through that toy slime stuff. Things can actually go through the slime now, since there is a hole. Then the hole disappears, since the slime will be pushed back together either by making more holes or because you pinch the slime bsck together
One thing a lot of people miss with the train scene with Helen is that in the first film, it's established that Bob saving the train was the reason supers got outlawed but in this movie he has to be ok with Helen saving at train. It's a perfect foil/mirror.
@@Doublemonk0506 “Five days later, another suit was filed by the victims of the L-train accident. Incredible’s court losses cost the government millions. And opened the floodgate for dozens of superhero lawsuits the world over.”
"The slow realization that two powers are strange..." I'm sorry CinemaWins. That's the look a dad makes when he realizes he's officially screwed when handling the kids.
Yup, thought so too. Bob's face of horror is because he realizes all of the power's he's listing are about to turn what was already a difficult job into a practically impossible one. How can you hope to manage a baby that is, for all intents and purposes, practically uncontainable? Between the clones, the phasing, the indesteuctibility, plus all of the more "agressive" powers lile laser, telekinesis and fire, there's just no stopping Jack Jack from doing literally anything he wants.
The movie was good But throughout watching it I was just PISSED Helen's suit wasnt made from Edna It just bothered me so much and I was like THIS IS WHY ONLY *EDNA* MAKES YOUR SUIT EDNAS SUITS DONT RIP
Ok guys, prepare to get your minds blown. Edna mentioned that Jack Jack responds to Mozart when she showed off his suit. Who else mentioned Mozart with Jack Jack? The girl in the first movie who got lumped with babysitting him. She brought a disk of Mozart music to the job and played it. That's why Jack Jack responds to Mozart. Boom.
This movie has the absolute best use of "stretchy" powers I've ever seen. Elastigirl makes Mr. Fantastic, Plastic Man, and any other similar powered characters look lame by comparison.
I love Dash’s facial expressions throughout the movie. They are so similar to the faces my little brother makes when he gets excited. It’s cool to just see him light up at the exciting parts of being a hero and it’s a nice reminder that he’s still a kid and doesn’t understand the full danger of his existence. Even though he doesn’t really get a focus in the sequel I still think they did him justice, his characterization is on point. He was always my favorite as a kid and I love being able to see more of him.
7:30 Also, there is a good chance, Bob would actually be genuinely happy if at least he could go super heroing ALONGSIDE Helen. his main beef is that Bob ISN'T doing it. Especially how only just days ago got to do it and BOOM back to the sidelines again
JD Bond No it is not. New Groove has more unique comedy to it and has plenty of original jokes as well while Ferris Bueller is just about a kid taking advantage of pretending he is sick. You can find any cartoon with that summary somewhere!
No, Brad Bird has said that Jack Jack was named after his middle son, Jack, who's nickname was Jack Jack. And he was a baby when Brad had the idea for The Incredibles.
Something I love about Elastagirl’s bike chase is how well her colour aesthetic blends with the world around her while still making her stand out. It’s perfect
I'm just here thinking Bob is jealous. But Wins' explanation of Bob's response to Helen's success makes more sense and I honestly like it better. Lol. 9:15 Surprised Wins didn't mention how they made Violet accurately respond to spitting water out her nose. Goofy things happen like that all the time in cartoons without such consequences.
I was thinking that Bob feels as though he's been unfairly treated. Helen stopped a train and was hailed as a hero on the news. Contrast to when Bob stopped the train in the first movie, it was a catalyst for superheroes becoming illegal
@@SSC0002 I think both are true. He's honestly happy for his wife (cause why wouldn't you be), but he's still angry that everything happened when he saved a train.
Surprised he hasn't done Atlantis The Lost Empire yet. Pretty sure he mentioned liking it a lot at one point? Or at least thinking it's underappreciated?
7:25 what I really loved about how they handled it was precisely how they made it CLEAR it wasn't Bob having problems with a female superhero, but how ENVIOUS he felt for his wife being back into action when he was always eager to go into superhero'ing. Not only that, they didn't drag this emotional turmoil to the point it becomes dumb, Bob and Helen do talk it over, she acknowledges his envy and he admits. They work it out and done, moving on.
With the accuracy of all of the kids, I think not enough people give credit to Violet and Dash. I'm not a parent, but I know what it's like to be in Violet's shoes and I work as a camp counselor for a different group of Dash aged boys every week during summers. Obviously he's fast because it's impossible to keep a 10-year-old boy entertained most of the time, but his excitement and willingness to go along when it matters paired with his exasperation when he's not doing something fun and teasing his sister and kind of everyone around him absolutely nails it. Not to mention the other little nuances about boys his age that I can't even describe. Violet is just getting to the age where she understands the world on a more selfless level but is still frustrated when it messes with her. Her dad messed up pretty bad and superheroes DID possibly ruin her chances with a boy she likes, but she also understands that her dad is a person who loves her and only wants what's best for her, so she forgives him quickly and realizes that staying back and protecting people, and especially her family, IS super helpful. Everything about this movie and the original is magnificent and are what makes the Incredibles movies my favorite Pixar movies and some of my favorite movies overall.
I went into a week-long depression when Zootopia won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature over Kubo. I have since stopped caring about the Oscars, but I still really wish Kubo got the recognition it deserved. Such a beautiful movie and an AMAZING score
I'm glad I'm not alone. So many people said this was an uninspired cash grab and I couldn't have disagreed more. So much effort was put into the animation and other details that I'm shocked so many people said that it was.....
@@HUNKragor Only so far as they knew it was a long awaited movie. So no real risk to put some effort in it. Maybe it was a bit risky to wait 14 freaking years and miss out nearly a generation...
@@okey3093 Well, Spider-Man 4 isn't happening yet. We need Sam Raimi to change his mind to make the legacy continue. Or if not, that's a cash grab thing to do.
One of my favorite dynamics in this film is that between Void and Elastigirl, more specifically their introduction. In the first film Helen seemed to have come to terms with her new life of staying under the radar while being the strong foundation of her family. But her introduction to Void gave her a living reminder of part of what she had left behind, of what she had had to give up. Elastigirl had been more than a "Superhero", she was a HERO to women all over the world. She didn't just wear the suit and show up for photo ops, she was an A-Lister easily on Parr ( intentional pun, I regret nothing ) with the likes of Mr Incredible. She knew this, and knew the kind of additional good she could do in that position. Giving up that life meant giving up being a hero to all of those young women who could be great on their own but could soar even higher if they saw someone like them being a leading force in their field, especially one that might so easily be attributed to being a "boys club" without someone like her.
Evelyn is a wonderful villain. I stand by that. It’s kind of heartbreaking that, from what I recall, she and Helen bonded over an inferiority complex. But while Helen never forgets the strength of family values, Evelyn considers everyone, even her own family, expendable in a bid to prove her point. The promotion of family values in a contemporary atmosphere of increasing cynicism - that is brave. And necessary. Therefore it’s vital that, unlike the nihilist Bonds and Batmen of the noughties, great though they were, the ending is what it is. Bravo Brad Bird.
Evelyn's also coming from a place of trauma, specifically involving her own family choosing a superhero fixation over basic self-defense (and failing to protect her and her brother.) I don't think Evelyn is rejecting "family values" so much as her family was broken through her father's complacency. Her brother coping by doubling down on loving superheroes would have felt like a betrayal to her. She feels under-valued by her own family to the point of believing they never cared about her. Evelyn is _trying_ to promote family values, or her own concept of it. Just like villains in real life!
12:46 Understated man. Frozone didn’t even know the car was coming, but when it did, he knew exactly what he had to do. It also shows how much he cares about the Parr family. I mean, he probably would’ve been helpful in saving the others, but still sacrificed himself to protect the kids
15:50 this was actually one of my my favourite little details of the movie, it really shows the intelligence of the villain and that she knows what she's doing, much unlike syndrome in the first one
What makes Evelyn such a great villian is you cant even *tell* if shes a villain in the beginning of the movie. She was very easy to talk to and seemed nice, which is how a lot of villains in real life seem.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this is anything BUT a cash grab. It just has too many awesome things about it (in my opinion, the animation) to make it "just a cash grab". Gosh people throw that term around so much these days, it's practically lost all meaning..... I feel like you should've mentioned more about Elastigirl's first encounter with Screenslaver cause the animation on the helicopters was just......INCREDIBLE (pun intended 😉)
It's not a cash grab. But honestly, someone calling it "The Serviceables" was spot on. It's not telling anything new, it's just more of the same package after a long time. Did I enjoy it? Damn straight I did. Was I expecting some new spin on these characters that I didn't get? I did.
@@Gadzinisko a fair point but I'm still addressing those that actually accused it of being a "blatant cash grab". Its literally become a coined term for anyone to use if they didn't like a film and it has lost a lot of meaning among the movie community. "Serviceables" is a pretty funny term though not gonna lie. I like that. XD
@@Gadzinisko yep. I can agree it's not as good as the first film, and Syndrome was a much better villain. But I still kinda liked Screenslaver in this one. She was smart and knew exactly what she wanted to do. Better than some "villains" in movies....
Also people tend to forget that THEY were the ones that were absolutely begging for a sequel to The Incredibles. They finally get it after 14 years and are calling it a "cash-grab"
Love me some positivity sometimes, even on the internet regarding films held to a ridiculously high standard well before ever being released and as such get nitpicked to hell and back for click bait, in place of actually well thought out criticism. The fact Winston turned out to be a genuinely nice guy (A massive kid at heart with money) was a massive plus.
Another win: the split-second during Helen's race through the tv studio where some random employee points out which way to go. I just really like that tiny moment of realism. I went into this movie with low expectations for the whole, "man being parent?!?!?!" sub-plot, but it honestly plays out as a natural extension of Bob's lack of self-identity outside of being Mr. Incredible. It felt less like him struggling to be an at-home dad and more like him panicking the second he's out of his element and no longer knows what to do when challenged as regular Bob. It was a nice follow-through of him appreciating his family more _and_ learning how to be happy as himself on a day-to-day level.
Deadpool 2 isn't that good of a sequel on my list, it just doesn't have the same feel as the first one. Sure, that one was an origin story and had the relationship issues with Vanessa, but the second one just wasn't the best it could be. Look up Nando v Movies on Deadpool 2, straight facts right there
Yeah, Rango is one of those movies that undeservedly flew by without grief or glory, when in fact it should have earned far more recognition not only for its astounding usage of CGI both on a technical and theoretical sense (it's not often that you see animated movies well crafted as well as intended to look ugly), but also for its strong writing, fantastic humor and a rather interesting arch about the search of identity.
I really liked this movie, though I wish it was set a bit more differently than the first. Evelyn's plan was similar to Syndrome's, just a little more complex and thought out. Also one part confused me. It was when Helen acted as if Screenslaver was an old enemy rather than a new one, which made me think it was gonna be her getting revenge or trying to settle an old score rather than what we have. I do absolutely love the animation and action. The way Helen used her bike had my jaw on the floor, she truly is creative(Also how did he not win her checking to make sure the chair she threw out the window landed safely on the roof? COME ON!). I wish they went easy on the flashing lights bit, not something you want to stare at for long.

"Ba-Bun" (his stuffed bunny) is usually a good substitute but sometimes he gets so fixated it's crazy. Although it is amazing the things an 21-month-old can understand when you explain it.
One thing that I noticed (nit pick) was that Vi and Dash don’t have super hero names. Throughout the first battle, Helen and Bob called them by their first names in front of a lot of people... hopefully they get their names in the next film
After watching the movie and then this video, I think, the entire Parr family also represent different stages of superheroism: -Jack-Jack - just figuring out superpowers -Dash - superpowers are cool -Violet - trying to find balance between super and regular -Bob - jaded from normal life -Helen - totally experienced, found her place and balance
I waited 15 years to watch the Incredibles 2 last night. It was worth it and I have never been so happy to watch a really good sequel. Update Sept/1/2022: Okayish yet good sequel.
I think the voice actors are incredible in this movie. The "GET OUTTA HERE" at 2:12 from her is POWERFUL. You can hear the anger in her voice about the kids not following her directions, and the genuine fear that her children are in danger
It's always a genuine treat when you talk about animated movies. You're massive appreciation for it is apparent and infectious. Major respect for you Mr. Wins 😁😁😁
I agree. So many people seem to view animation as a lesser form of film and dismiss it as being boring or just for children. Animation can be so beautiful because anything you can draw/create you can bring to life beautifully and I love anyone that gives it the respect it deserves.
6:40 "Slow realization that two powers seems strange" and then cut straight to Violet who just happens to have two powers. I think it was more like the realization, that having to deal with a baby who can go through stuff and multiply isn't gonna be fun. And then the "more powers" punch in the face. Hmmm... Yea thats more like it
I think it's still the same power, she just uses it on herself to make her invisible and as a forcefield when used externally but that's just my theory
Violet really doesn't have 2 powers, she just applies the light manipulation in different ways. Bending for invisibility, solidification for shields. It's Sue Storm 101.

This might be a pretty accurate answer
And it would also impact Edna's pride. She is a master designer, but all of the heroes she gave costumes to were felled by the cape. It would sting to know that these heroes she knew were felled by the cape she inserted into the design.
that's exactly what it is
I'd like to think she knew from the get-go capes were a no-go, and that the others' suits were created by other people. Their deaths just backs up her claim
Agreed

The way Violet was screaming when Krushauer was shrinking her force field was absolutely bone-chilling. Vi had two choices in that scene: Drop the shield and risk getting electrocuted to death OR risk getting crushed to death just by KEEPING the shield up!

I kinda think Bob is so angry when talking about the train scene is that his train scene saved countless lives, yet he had a lawsuit on his hands. And when Helen gets similar results, she still does it cleaner, proving Bob is too messy, and driving home how he should wait to super-hero it up.
oh i didn’t think about that! that’s clever
Technically the train wasn't what got him the lawsuit. But when Mr. Incredible does superheroics, he gets sued nonetheless

His sister immediately gave me red flags from the second she said
“They could’ve just gone into the cellar instead of calling the hero’s”
Saferoom, not cellar. I suspected the sister ever since I heard Winston HAD a sister. Winston in all the trailers looks like "oh sure, I'm gonna be the bad guy" but very few of the trailers show Evelyn. My thought process was something like "so this guy, looks like a bad guy but too obvious, supposedly has a sister but she doesn't really have a role in the trailers? Yeah, it's probably her."
And Cinemasins had a good point.
I think it's less "I hate super-people" (although that's still there for sure) but more "I hate the sloth, lethargic mindset that came out of there being super-people - which no doubt has led to several unnecessary deaths and people putting more faith in supers saving their skins instead of preserving their own skin."
She wanted people to fend for themselves if they can. If it's out of their depth, yeah, let the supers handle the situation if they're around, but don't expect them to.
@@dbseamz
The point was so good makes me laugh 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣

Most sources on hypnosis make it very clear that being hypnotised can't make you do something you dont want to do. Especially not when it goes against your ethics or morals. Evelyn PERFECTED hypnosis if she could force superheroes to harm innocents and honestly knowing that made her a really intimidating villain for me on my first time watching
Mind control is also a common trope in kids’ media, especially older ones, because it lets villains be evil without using gore or violence
I second this. While you can't force someone against their will with hypnosis, you can absolutely shift the boundaries on what they are willing to do.
Hypnotist here. It's generally not possible to make someone do something they don't want to do. However, with time and effort, it is possible to change what someone wants.

@@kidwhat6664 Yeah im dumb but it had red accents
@@ChenoWolf makes sense
"He just likes superheroes."
An amazing quote for a lot of villains.
"Momentum, a function of mass and velocity, is conserved between portals. In layman's terms: speedy thing goes in, speedy thing comes out."
I swear just you referencing portal makes me happy
OK, but what if the Portal is the speedy thing?
Is it like those old Wild West barn wall falls with a window over a character
Or does it's momentum translate to the object?
@@DraconicDuelist
Or, as I like to think:
Making a portal is like punching a hole through that toy slime stuff.
It wasn't Bob saving people on the train that got supers outlawed, rather it was a lawsuit that involved a man trying to kill himself

Incredibles 1 is my favorite animated flick. Happy you’re looking at all the great in this one

Your videos made me interested in cinematography.
Now I can't not see it in every movie I watch.
