  • Here's the next episode of Chordplay with a second installment of The Chords Of Ratt. I've had a lot of requests to feature more of Ratt's music, and so far on this channel, I've created two Warren DeMartini Three-For-All episodes and the original Ratt Chordplay lesson. This lesson dives a little deeper into their hard rock fretboard magic from the 1980s and 1990s - so here we go!
    This episode takes a look at a number of famous chord-based moments from Ratt, including a number of songs from the albums Invasion Of Your Privacy, Dancing Undercover, Detonator, and Reach For The Sky. The riffs selected include the songs 'Never Use Love,' 'Between The Eyes,' 'Body Talk,' 'Shame Shame Shame,' 'I Want A Woman,' and more!
    If you're a Ratt fan looking for more material to devour or just curious to see what all the fuss is about - there's something for everyone hiding in this lesson and get ready, because Ratt certainly knows how to rock! Give this episode a view, leave some comments/feedback, and please subscribe to Late Night Lessons - THANK YOU!

    Finally someone mentions "I Want a Woman" outside Ratts youtube channel. That is one of my favorite riffs of all time. Such an under rated song.

    Oh yeah David, you are 1000% correct about Robin. As far as a bands "secret weapon", Robin Crosby / Ratt, Adrian Smith / Iron Maiden, Chris DeGarmo / Queensryche, Jeff Pilson / Dokken, Mick Mars / Motley Crue, Steve Clark / Def Leppard, Tommy Skeoch / Tesla, Chris Holmes / WASP, Jeff Hanneman / Slayer, Cliff Burton / Metallica........ Without any of those players, those bands wouldn't have been nearly as cool.

    Robbin was an essential part of the classic Ratt sound, no question about it. He and Warren made such an amazing guitar team. So many clever riffs full of melody, but always sounding powerful.

    I loved Ratt back in the day. They had great riffs. They're one of the few bands from then that i like now, as much as i did then. Hearing you play these songs just made me time travel, as much as that's actually possible.

    • @Richard-1776
      @Richard-1776 2 года назад +1

      And in addition to the great riffs, you had the voice, Steven Percy. I think that’s what he said, “im not a singer, I’m a voice lol.” Maybe he isn’t a nightingale, but he’s a rocker. He’s was born to front a rock band. I like his voice. If you look around RUclips, for his solo stuff, it’s just about as good as Ratt, and that’s surprising. So, he’s obviously no joke. It’s not just anyone who can write good songs. It’s a shame he and Jake E Lee couldn’t have gotten together. Jake might be too soulful for such a raw singer….I don’t know. They could have done some good stuff.Jake and Warren were good friends. Jake was in Ratt long ago. That just makes too much sense in the fucking inverted Marxist world of today. Look for him doing “ I’m Insane “ with his solo band. It’s bad ass.

    I was 18yo in 1985. I saw so many of the great metal bands back in the day. But for me, a RATT concert was the epitome of a Metal Party (So many chicks!!!). Saw them many times and a RATT concert was always one big party to hang out at. The crowds were great.
    Dude, Between The Eyes is such a bad ass tune. This was a great upload. I remember seeing them at Irvine Meadows in Cali, and Gene Simmons was there walking through the crowd at one point. lol. He was circled by so many people there. I bet he regretted that decision lol. (He did sign my ticket stub though!)

    my second favorite band behind van halen. Ratt brings back memories of cruising in my beat up 66 impala with a rotted out frame. sparkomatic tape player -- 2 tiny speakers, cranking RATT as loud as i could. then of course, as any kid back then i found another speaker to wire into it.. like a lonely 6 by 9 and set that on the back dash under the window. Still playing RATT through my worn out cassette

    Just to let you know, you are playing "I want a woman" the correct way. Its the 2 finger chords which are all over 80's rock songs, especially with bands like Girlschool and that era. Ratt also uses the same 2 finger chord in "Givin yourself away".

  • @4fingas69
    @4fingas69 2 года назад

    He does the never use love riff all down in the 5th and 7th position .. when you do it that way you'll see why.. it all works..

    Also incorporate open strings like open G and D
