(grand company on all accounts 🏆) This was a beautiful tune to close the set…any helpful insight is appreciated... 🙏🏽
you’re so absolutely welcome, brother Dave 🙌🏽🔥…@moon -a smile across the miles & healing wishes🙏🏽💯. Please stay safe, friends… this music is among “My Favorite Things (& therapy)” I *appreciate* you & how hard these cats swing.
A superb concert with lots of audience participation! The next day I had the privilege of seeing the Trio present a fantastic clinic at Webster Groves High School. And to top it all off, I got to hang out with Russell Hall, taking him to see St. Louis city sights! These guys are the real deal. Musicians of the highest caliber and wonderful human beings.
I was at this show, and this is the best concert I have ever been to! So glad that I can finally rewatch it. The vibes in the room were so good that night
I was also at this show. What an evening! I’ve seen them a least a dozen times over the past couple years and this was one heck of a set. The first set was good, but this one … . One thing that played into it setting it apart from almost every other jazz performance I’ve seen is how enthusiastic the audience was toward the music. Unfortunately, this doesn’t come across much in the video. Also, the interludes where Emmet speaks to the audience are missing. In one of them, Emmet comments on how enjoyable it is for the band to hear the audience’s appreciation, or something to that effect. A point I’d like to make regarding the size of the stage, the stage seemed somewhat larger than it apparently is. However, the stage size is not indicative of the size of the club. I think it had to hold well over a hundred people. And there was substantial space in between tables. In size, and size only, it’s comparable to Birdland. The final comment I’ll make - for now- they performed an incredible reading of The Theme From Oliver, “Where Is Love?” That was one for the ages.
The piano being out of tune is annoying and I would have a really hard time playing but it show's you the professionalism of Emmet dealing with it. It reminds me of a lot of old live recordings in clubs where the piano wasn't the best. Great as always Emmet and company!
