The fact that Mike League wrote this entire album by himself, evry single part for every single instrument is absolutely mind blowing. The guy is a total genius.
I believe Jules Buckley, the conductor for Metropole Orkest, helped him arrange most of the song in the album, especially the orchestra parts But yeah the fact the Micheal League wrote every songs in the album is crazy in itself
@@worraw3337Micheal said he made everything and Cole just “cleaned” to make sure Micheal would appears like he knows what he was doing lol so yeah, Micheal was the greatest genius of this masterpiece
I just scored tickets to the session they're doing in January and I'm freaking out. Seeing this kind of thing live is going to melt my brain into a puddle.
WOW WOW WOW....My God as a songwriter, musician I was tearing up. This is truly Magical. Piano solo was amazing. C-Minor. Horns. Drums. Syntheziser etc etc. What an Amazing TEAM
My partner and I, from Chicago, were at one of the Empire Central dates in Dallas. I just got tickets to the upcoming Metropole Orkest date this coming Jan. 17th, 2025. I am so excited!! Can't even describe what it's like to attend these kind of performances. As a musician (tenor sax) and audio engineer (music, dialogue, 5.1 surround sound mixing for films) it is so unique and incredibly well done. Thank you so much! Cheers!!
I never knew these recordings can get any better, but here we are! So crisp and immersive. I truly feel like im in the room when listening to this with good headphones.
this remix and remaster gives it the '''Live sound' the other version was album level audio and that's what i loved about it ... can't please everybody i guess haha
This album is such an incredible MASTERPIECE played by the absolute finest musicians on Earth. When no one is home, this old man will crank Atchafalaya until the walls shake, so I can dance around with such freedom and joy. I keep asking Rick Beato to interview Michael League. That would be very interesting. With so much mediocre do downright shitty music being made for years now, we should celebrate these true musical masters as often as possible.
I am no audiophile, but I feel like this remaster took away more than it gave me. The cello part at 1:05 is so important, yet it is barely audible, the moog/trombone line around 2:30 would not be very discernible had it not been for the guitars playing the same thing, the moog line is too quiet around 3:47, generally the lead instruments dont stand out as much, the trombone suddenly drastically changes its sound at 9:38 unless I am missing something, the trombone part doesnt sound as massive at 9:58, the lead trumpet joining at 10:47, too, is so much milder than before, not bringing as much energy. To me this remaster boosts cool minor details and brings some improvements (sax solo, guitar/bass lines, drum sound and percussions) while pushing some important parts into the "background", but I am aware it might just be that I am used to the original version. Sadly the original versions are not available anymore, otherwise there would be nothing to complain about.
Yeahhh... dang, as this got further in Im feeling the same way... its too clean.. maybe less ambient bleed? It feels like its overly automated.. like unless its on the screen you hear it and then its kinda gone.. But yeah I know the OG from this so well. I like some of the details but it doesnt actually sound like the original did.. its too small? idk.. somebody else chime in here
It's like the life has been sucked out of it, yeah. Very sterile sounding. All these layers remain layers and not blending into the wonderful live mix it once was. Perfect example is indeed the sax that sounds like the Nile geese that live next door to me and warn people of possible danger in the middle of the night. The vibe is gone, yes. Still, it remains a masterpiece. Can't believe it's already been ten years of us enjoying this gem!!!
I felt the same at first but the more I listen to it the more I sort of dig the really goofy saxophone introduction. I feel like it almost makes sense it a very deranged way
Please swap the old video to unlisted instead of private, I prefer the original mix and not having access to it sucks ruclips.net/video/MBAJP-3ebDA/видео.html&
You're cooked so much more space for everyone in this one. The old one wasn't bad at all though and i didnt think remix was necessary. But this one sounds so much better in my studio

Same thought, it is beyond impressive. And also his greatness is in his humility.
But the solos bro

I hope he does it again. IMO, this and “We like it here” are peak puppy.

Lucky you - Enjoy, I'd have tears rolling down my face seeing them perform
Can't wait. See you there

This remaster feels like what it was like seeing 4K for the first time

Michael League of Champions!🏆
The dueling keys at @7:49 gets me every time. They were so in sync with each other. They make it so easy.
oh thank god ive been dying for this to come back
I'm so happy that this is back up - what an incredible medley of incredible songs.

The original mixes are still available on Spotify. No idea where this claim this coming from.
I agree I prefer the original.
hate these new mixes

I have things to do, people! Stop distracting me with your absolute awesomeness!! XD OK, maybe one more video.
Ive been trying to complete a narrative at work for the past 2 hours. Dang you snarky puppy lol
truly amazing!!
Achafalaya is such a monster of a vibe. This remix/remaster is amazing!
omg i can't get the trombone solo out of my head at 11:32!!! does anyone else know any similar music? i'm obsessed!!! thank you
This is based on New Orleans brass band music. Check out Rebirth Brass Band, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Hot 8 Brass Band, Soul Rebels, among many others.
1:27 I didn't know that Richard Branson plays the saxophone!!
got to get it on
Absolutely love it! (except for about 10 seconds from 6:23, with the Egyptian goose on the roof at 5am on a Sunday vibes lmao)

Sylva - CoolAlbum!👍👍👍
😊 ✨
Metropole tenor guy always going hard in the mf paint
Such a good album, although it took me half a dozen listens to really get into it. ❤😎
I just want to know how long it took for mic'ing and sound check...

どうやって曲作りしてるんだろ、、、?
am sorry this new mix is just BAD please put back the old one
Thank god the old/best mix is available in Spotify. But being unable to watch those videos with the other mix is bad
Hard disagree. The percussion is so much more crisp in this.
