Quoting Armand Hall about this piece: "Dionysiaques is the first truly artistic work created for large concert band … Regardless of how many times I listen to Dionysiaques, it always feels new and interesting. It also suggests that Florent Schmitt considered the wind band ensemble to be ‘without limits’.”
Bass Sax nails it!! What a fantastic color!!!
One of the greatest wind works ever composed! Great job!

It was not the first great work for wind band. Just think of Berlioz' Symphonie Funèbre et triomphale, and Holst's two suites!
@@larsjohansson7954This work is substantially deeper and complicated than those

You are amazing
Bass sax vs Baritone Horn. Sass and beauty. One way or the other.
I like that little leap to the side
Happy graduation day.
Outstanding!
Bravo!

Reminds me a bit of Jericho Rhapsody
1992 New titles. 😊
1993 re-releaae editions.
Inspiration taken from Karel Husa, I wonder?
Written far before Husa’s time so likely the other way around.
@@kestrel4733 Schmitt, like Grainger, was ahead of his time.
