I was twenty years of age in 1974, I had moved to London from a small country town in Dorset & was working near Victoria Station just down the road from this theatre. I idolised Joni Mitchell. How did I miss this performance, it’s one of my life’s regrets. 😊😍
Fucking amazing! Where has this clip been hiding from me? Too bad the audio is not better, but damn! Two of my favorites from Court and Spark. Amazing songwriting and amazing singer- and what a beauty. Sorry, I'm a pig, but damn, she is beautiful.
I'm so grateful I got to see Joni on this tour, when I was still a teenager, less than a month before this was filmed. Having seen her in concert on numerous occasions in later years, the Court & Spark tour was my first time. It was also the first time she ever played in Texas, at City Coliseum in Austin. Great memories of that show still abound in my mind...
I have loved Joni from my high school. There simply is no singer/songwriter. I saw her in the 70's in Knoxville, TN. She took my breath away and still does. This video brought tears to my eyes and warmth to my heart.
What a gem this clip is, witnessing one of the finest singer/songwriter/composers on the planet. Her work in the mid 70's set new standards for how it's done.
I love the way that the flautist plays the same arrangement as the strings did on the album version! Great musicianship! And, Joni is of course a Goddess of all things!
This album is one of her best in my humble opinion.....I have been listening to it for decades and it is still fresh every time I hear it. "With heaven full of Astronauts and the lord on death row....."
So complex intricate and beautiful ...I am 68 and I only ever went to one concert when I was young and it was to see her at Wembley stadium I will never forget her ...the best wonderful Joni
ahhhh... Joni's chords make my hair stand in end every time. She's all over the place, and it's so incredibly beautiful. I really wish I knew of talent out there today that had her genius.
I am stunned by how beautiful and flawless these renditions are. And good God, Joni looked sexy as all get out. God damn. I have so much love for her for all of the gifts she has given me. Thank you, Joni, I love you.
same situation... and hejira, the words and music just blow my mind! this woman is DEEP. the landscape of her music is like nothing ive ever seen or heard before. brilliantly talented and extremely funny!!
Sometimes when I feel like singing, I put on this album and sing these songs. She makes it sound so easy. I love both of these tunes...the whole album actually is perfection!
This post triggered me to figure out when I saw her live. Found it online -- I attended her concert at Cornell University in February 1974, two months before this vid was shot. I already knew every song she played by heart and could cover them note for note... My only fanatical fan experience. Thank you again for posting.
oh g-d how beautiful. Makes music-creating seem so flowing. Inspiring. Rekindles to a bright flame my now-sometimes-forgotten love of music. Thank you Joni Mitchell and whoever posted this.
This a really great performance. I was a huge fan of Joni's music from the 1960's thru about 1974 or '75. About that time, her albums were becoming more and more jazz influenced, jazzy arrangements, with each subsequent album and I just never got into the jazzy styles she was involved with at that time. I understand that Joni's life was changing and she was happy with the jazz material that had become her genre of choice. But for me...I just never got into the jazz music that was the forefront of her repertoire. I loved the folk stuff the most.
This song has been stuck in my head for days now....love her vocal range here on this song...incredible. I listened to her at starting at 14 - saw this tour in Cleveland - outside - summer 1974. Incredible show. the word I would describe her is mature on every level. Maturity in the sense of accomplishment - it comes across in her lyrics, her composition - so fluid. In a class all by herself...thank you Joni!
The biggest musical talent of the second half of the Twentieth Century

A one-in-a-billion artist. Maybe 10 billion.

Gorgeous performance. I can’t think of a more emotive performer than Joni Mitchell.
These songs reshaped my life as a person and as a singer-songwriter

ASpanishguy: I'll bet she is. If I could meet her in person, I'd tell her you & I agree..
Ahhh dear Joni- singer of my life & soul
Scott's flute prompts Joni to add new dimensions in these songs' interpretations.
Only Joni can take a near-perfect record and bring it to new heights in a live performance! Just an incredible, lovely talent.
U Made my teenage hood as well as my Young Adulthood
Sour grapes because l lost my heart ❤️

It just doesn't get any better than this - save for the "Help Me" number from same show, perhaps.
She wows me every time, from the first time I heard her album BLUE on the FM radio!
This concert was on RUclips before why the hell would anybody take it down it’s art

Sorry for the typos! My tablet does strange things.
This is exquisite.
Used to count lovers like railroad cars , I counted them on my side genius
That woman is a goddess. I'm so glad her life coincided with mine.

Sheer quality.
Imagine if her and Graham had married and had kids. They would have been amazing.

The sound quality is pretty poor. Wish it were better.
And the kids got cokes and chocolate bars
Is there more from this concert?
