I always loved this song...it conjures up an image of the life of a heroin addict whose family is trying to get them clean. It is really a sad song and makes we wish for the "She" in the song to be able to kick her drug habit.
The website "Song Facts" said: "During VH1's The Black Crowes Storytellers, filmed at The Bottom Line in New York City on August 27, 1996, lead singer Chris Robinson explained that this song is not about one person, but rather a "hot dog" (as he put it) of people that they knew from the Atlanta club scene in their early days. "Not all the best parts" explained Chris, "or the best parts for you."
Chris says there was always a girl in the club scene back then with really dark makeup (like Siouxsie And The Banshees), and after thinking about her one day, he scribbled the lyric "she paints her eyes as black as night." He then went on to write an entire biography (completely made up, by the way) about her in the form of the song that then became "She Talks to Angels.""
My buddy Martin was kind enough to fill in for John on lead guitar (John is at the beach until March). Martin is playing my sweet 1994 Gibson Hummingbird. Frank kills the vocals as usual and Gordon is as steady as ever on the drums. I am playing rhythm on my awesome 1997 Bourgeois Country Boy (Ricky Skaggs Signature model). We hope you enjoy or cover of this great song.

One of my most favorite songs...part of it reminds me of me. I wear a cross for my Jesus that I haven't met yet and I have my little boy's lock of hair that passed away at 1 year old. Y'all are awesome❤

Really sorry for your loss. Thank you for the kind words, we appreciate your support. I think that song reminds a lot of people about themselves or someone they know. Please check out some of our other covers as well.

    I didn’t see the drummer hiding 😮lol

He’s not hiding. In fact he is sitting in a drum riser. We have to keep him as far back as possible so the microphone can pick things other than the drums. Thanks for watching and commenting.

If you guys are just having fun, then this makes sense..... however, you are playing the guitar/s very wrong as BC uses open tuning. YES., I play guitar for 50 years, can play this song. I value and appreciate musicians and am not trying to dump on you guys....the drummer is bad here too.. check out another guy on the tube who does this very, very well. Practice more, improve and then your videos won't suck?

Good luck to you.... remember if you post publicly, then you are open for opinion.

Hey Michael, thanks for your opinion. The lead player is playing open tuning. If you play guitar, I’m surprised you could make that kind of mistake. Anyway, we are just having fun. Take care!!

Maybe you should try some originality in some of your music, if you know what originality is. Sounds like your time is spent playing note for note, We just like having fun and putting different concepts to the music we play. Oh by the way, where are your videos? May God bless you!
