Two things I'd like to say about this recording....firstly, at the beginning the squeak you hear is my female lab, Stevie Nix, playing with a squeak toy in front of me and Frank. That is why we looked at each other and smiled (as shown in the video thumbnail). Luckily she dropped the toy after one squeak and went back to my bedroom to sleep. Secondly, I really like this song although I was not familiar with Audioslave before Frank suggested we record it. I was certainly familiar with the lead singer, Chris Cornell. He was the lead singer for Soundgarden in the late 90's. Audioslave came along after 2010 and I was not listening to radio stations to hear music like that during this time of my life.
Frank kills the vocals as usual, Gordon is "in the pocket" while twirling sticks and John made it back from his beach condo (he was gone from Jan-early March. John is playing lead on my awesome 1997 Bourgeois Country Boy (Ricky Skaggs Signature model) and I am playing rhythm on my sweet 1994 Gibson Hummingbird. We hope you enjoy our cover of Audioslave.
