This song was written by Gerry Rafferty and Joe Egan and performed by their band Stealers Wheel. The song is about all the clowns and jokers a band has to deal with from record executives all the way to friends who come up and ask for help once the big deal was signed. Rafferty got the idea from a dinner that the band had to attend after they were signed by A&M Records.
I also wanted to say that Gordon (our drummer) is dealing with a little bit of a health issue. Gordon, hang in there. We are pulling for you and can't wait until you are back with us.
Frank kills the vocals as usual. John is playing lead on my awesome 1997 Bourgeois Cournty Boy and I am playing rhythm on my sweet 1994 Gibson Hummingbird. We hope you enjoy our cover of this cool song.
