As a kid loved the movie so that went to see it twice - only other such case being 'Star Wars'. But besides that I think Beatty's only truly remarkable role has been in 'The Parallax View'.
oh man Jack!!! why you always gotta be the show stealer... I mean I couldn't help but only glue my eyes on you through the entire video... your charisma and screen presence is second to none lorddd!!!
Our dignity of our work. A great line. We love actors. We love their movies. They are people doing a job. Never forget they are actors, doing their job. And Warren, who with his sister, Shirley McClain, acted their whole life. I think in Annette Benning he found a home. I hope their love continues, xx
I saw Heaven Can Wait in my teens. The enthusiastic, non-judgmental character Mr. Betty played matched his genuine passion for tolerance, kindness, tempered by accountability. I was only a fan of Bugsy because his passion for Annette Benning seemed so real. An Icon that questioned himself as much as his politics. A man who got it right after all the missteps we take in life.
Well the acceptance speech the beautiful gratitude selected wording from Warren Beatty with very impressive he's right up there with Robert Redford and Gregory Peck in Paul Newman
I can only guess that the pressures of being so successful must make it hard for them to collect their thoughts in these speeches. The awards are so important, and so rare, that the perfect words must be difficult to find. And, of course, they can't prepare in advance easily with serious competition involved. So it just shows how human - and like the rest of us - they really are. J.
Oh, sure there are Nicholson haters, but what I've read, he and Beatty are very thick, and also, that jack is one of the most loyal friends you can have in a very fake industry.
How can you hate Jack Nicholson, unless he has an affair with your wife or your daughter, or unless you're jealous or envious?! The guy is an embodiment of 'cool', and rightfully so!
his work in and on Bonnie & Clyde was impressive as hell. underrated acting .he creates a character who, while killing folks w/ machine guns also is a sweet ,gentle person around Bonnie, and even caves right in when sister in law Blanche demands a share of Bank loot .you couldn't ask for a nicer bank robber(except for Willie Sutton .when's that movie coming out?! it's high time.)
@@mollysmeow3455 I'm strictly referring to the fictionalized characters written into the film. the real Bonnie & Clyde? hell, they killed folks on Easter and Christmas. and whether or not it was a Barrow shooting, I hold the Barrow gang responsible. my point was similar to yours, about Beatty. the characteristics he brings to Clyde for us, isn't much like how I'd imagine WB or CB IN real life. I wouldn't've realized how good he was as an actor w/ out seeing the '67 masterpiece.
When watching these shows was actually fun, about their performance , what they put out there for us to enjoy. No politics, just their art. Miss those days.
Look 1:39 Tom Cruise & Nicole Kidman (when still together). Tom Cruise: Top Gun. Look 3:16 Arnold Schwarzenegger with wife Maria Shriver (niece of Presiden John F.Kennedy). Arnold before Governor. Look 9:45 Gwyneth Paltrow & Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes movie) with Robert Downey Jr. After that Iron man and Avanger movie. Many time i wacthing them. Look 5:41 Applause for Warren Beatty. Look 5:57 Clint Eastwood. Look 6:06 Denzel Washington. Look 6:03 Warren Beatty's wife Annette Bening. They as couple in Bugsy movie. Look 6:33 Val Kilmer. In this event not Andy Gracia isn't it?
I'm not necessarily one for the cliche about the "Good Old Days" but when these two leave the Hollywood scene, the film world will be all the poorer for it.
It is better the Cecil B De Mile Golden Globe . I saw it. Mr. Beaty pointed to Nicholson and said "You You always had to be that cool" or somenthing. I think It was great
Warren Beatty should have played: The lives of Irving Thalberg, Howard Hughes, Rudolf Valentino, Jack Kennedy, Gary Cooper, the role of Doctor Plarr ( in Graham Greene's novel ," The Honorary Consul"), Youngblood Hawke in Herman Wouk's novel of the same title, a character from John O'Hara's novels, and a John Cheever's character from "The Wapshot Scandal", or "The Wapshot Chronicle".
For all the people hating on Jack N. Not one of you has ever met him in person, hung out with him for a period long enough to call him an associate, but you're going to hate a man based on other people's opinions? Yeah, all of you dirt bags, stay away from me, and my people. I won't stoop to your level and call you names as you have done of Jack. Don't waste your time hating on me because, I don't care about you. I won't feed your negativity by responding. Once I ignore you, your comments, & your opinions, you're powerless. Just take this with you, don't judge anybody, you wouldn't like it if they judged you. Also, by judging, you're exposing WHO you are. Congratulations, Warren B.
This must be the longest speech in Academy history. Longer than Greer Garson's. They'll cut off the competitive winners...but not Warren Beatty! Which is fine. He's charming!
I wish he'd made "WHAT'S NEW PUSSYCAT," since he did coin the phrase &/the film was written with him in mind. Peter O'Toole was very good but that part was so Beatty. He has always been cautiously selective much to his advantage; although I would have loved to see him in more films. Must add "DICK TRACY," "BUGSY," " MICKEY ONE, " & "BULLWORTH."
No any actor has the charisma of Jack Nicholson. Greatest and coolest actor of all time
Robert De Niro 😉
Jack always steals the show.
no, he did not.
@@wde8160 Jack had far better acting career its okay if he steals show.
When Nicholson calls Beatty "The Pro" that might be the coolest thing ever. And he knew it too lol

Cinema Insiders 🙏🙏🙏🙏
This man has been and will always be cool.
Long before I began collecting favourite movies, "Heaven Can Wait", became one of my most favourite.
As a kid loved the movie so that went to see it twice - only other such case being 'Star Wars'. But besides that I think Beatty's only truly remarkable role has been in 'The Parallax View'.
WOW...JACK "nailed" ELOQUENCE in this speech!! Love you, Jack.
oh man Jack!!! why you always gotta be the show stealer... I mean I couldn't help but only glue my eyes on you through the entire video... your charisma and screen presence is second to none lorddd!!!
A legend honoring a Legend
I watched in an interview Meryl Streep described Jack Nicholson as the funniest guy on and off screen. She enjoyed working with Jack the most.
No her favorite is De Niro. 😉
I love Warren! One of my favorite actors gets the award of my favorite producer, Thalberg!
Our dignity of our work. A great line.

And Warren, who with his sister, Shirley McClain, acted their whole life. I think in Annette Benning he found a home. I hope their love continues, xx
was in the States when Warren Beatty got his well deserved Irving G Thalberg award remember watching it . Nice to see it again

What a beautiful comment. Thank you for sharing.
Jack & Warren are just ge best... after Clint Eastwood, that is. Love Clint. ❤️❤️
Lovely speech, from such a lovely man. He deserved it.
Thank you for uploading this! So wonderful!
'Bugsy' was one of the top ten movies made. Both He and Annette peaked in their looks and acting.
Thank you for posting this! I've been dying to watch this tribute
WARREN is & always will be the Best.
Well the acceptance speech the beautiful gratitude selected wording from Warren Beatty with very impressive he's right up there with Robert Redford and Gregory Peck in Paul Newman
Splendor in the grass was one of the early and impactful movies I've ever seen wonderful that one sticks out of my head and also Heaven Can Wait
Funny, sexy, intelligent, the one and only Jack, the king of actors!!!❤❤❤❤
Jack is amazing in The Pledge.
Jack nicholson is my favorite ❤️
I swear to god Jack Nicholson could be a comedian one day LOL
Reed Brooks Relatively speaking
Hehe
HE ALWAYS WAS 👍🏽
He has god award for as good as it gets. Wtf do you mean
Peter O'toole (as a legendary stage actor)said on his deathbed in 'my Favorite Year', "dying is easy. comedy is hard."
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏one of the most gracious and thankful speeches ever!.
What a classy intro by Jack... didn't make it about himself one iota.
Jack is always cool.
Young Warren Beatty was fab.

I never realized what a pleasant voice he has
When the Oscars were still great!
The thing that makes Jack even more special in this one is his love for The Pro.
Yes...he is really talented and was once BEAUTIFUL !
Annette has always been so breathtakingly beautiful.
Why am I crying and a mess at this? It’s effing Warren Beatty! My heart is pounding 😍❤️
legends of the screen being shown, and nicole as the gorgeous woman she was. clint denzel jack warren tom coburn arnie all film legends

+PeRuN the Riffmeister Agreed
Absolutely
Jonathan Mueller agreed
Jack loves Shirley and Warren is Shirley's brother.
Arnie in a reflective moment @ 3:16 not listening to Jack whatsoever, he is thinking I should have been working out instead.

I lived next door to Jack Nicholson in Malibu for 7 years. I used to hang out at his place. He threw wild parties.
Two astounding talents
Two class acts!
Heaven can wait.....
One of the few times that something real happened at the Academy Awards.
Wow! Check out the woman with Val Kilmer at 06:33. Beautiful.
With all his great movies, Bulworth is my favorite. Please see it!
Beautiful! Beautiful speech!
Still absolutely amazing.
Jack Nicholson very nice
Warren Beatty another of the greats.
People make actors Sooo much more then what they are. They act . . . .
When Jack talks women smile at every word
Top of the line.
love Gwyneth turning serious when Warren started quoting a poet :)
I dated and lived with a guy who looked like Warren . So handsome !
Que linda sonrisa dear Jack y esa voz...uyyy...love it❤
En México se dice: es un Tipazo!!
Great actor and made such great movies
Of actors who direct, Warren Beatty is my number two. Number one being Orson Welles.
I love Dick Tracy! The colors are wonderful! I bought it and have watched it numerous times.
Beautifully done, el warren-o.
When watching these shows was actually fun, about their performance , what they put out there for us to enjoy. No politics, just their art. Miss those days.
He definitely should've won for Bugsy.
That acceptance speech was classy as hell!
Funny intelligent man.
The Masters. 💜💜
2:18 & 9:14 Clint Eastwood 69 years old look like a charm.
Mrs.Beatty looks just beautiful!
Everyone needs an idol.
'Mad Dog' should make more movies
Sweet, You're so vain inspirational guys all together on stage. ;)
He only made like 20 some odd films in his 60 year career and yet so many were so good.

Apologise for the Host. Look 0:48 Jack Nicholson (Batman movie)

They left it already :(
Jack Nicholson … one of those people I wish would only grow younger.
Oooo yeah 👌🤘
Definitely the coolest cat in the room 😉
Could you please upload Jane Fonda presenting the Honorary Award to Andrzej Wajda? :)
I am sure he was not joking when he said he would try to make more movies. Sad that the whole house burst into an uncalled for laughter.
It is better the Cecil B De Mile Golden Globe . I saw it. Mr. Beaty pointed to Nicholson and said "You You always had to be that cool" or somenthing. I think It was great
Don't forget Eastwood my man was there. The great
3:19 on that moment he realise that someone is watching him..
He does go on, doesn't he?
atleast he has something to say instead of saying thanks and walking off
To you he does.
He is a beautiful MAN!!

People who play make believe for a living are SOOOOOOO important.
He probably would have made a good politician, he can't string words together
+bowler8 He did sound just like Bulworth there!
Beatty was where he should've been all the time, and when he wasn't, he was with some underworld spy or the wife of a close friend.
I saw what you did there😘

Love that mustache
Beatty...the last man you would have picked back then, to be the one to demonstrate in the end that you CAN have it all...!
He’s the quarterback...
❤️
That's what the ladies said in the 1960's through the 80's.
You people love giving each other awards, and I'm fighting for my life no BORDERS..what?
Where is Shirley Maclaine? His sister?
