Is that a Zephyrus G15? If not, it has the exact same layout which is insane considering I clicked on your video for inspiration, and ended up getting a solution that fits my exact need. Thanks for uploading!
I'd just leave the screen partially open and use the edge of the screen to keep the laptop standing vertically (looks like tent). That way you can still get to the power button.
Yeah the power button is the only annoyance with the design. I went through USB wake options that usually work with Desktop PC's but no success on the laptop with it's BIOS. Other idea is to create a WakeOnLan solution, but to be honest lifting it out, opening the screen enough to tap on and sliding back in at the start of the day isn't much of a drama haha
You have to check in bios. Newer laptops have a setting that when you connect the charger or a type c charger , it will power on the device. This is how I use my lenovo
I haven't had issues yet with screen colours, but I have found on hot summer days that my laptop overheats if the lid is closed (on desk or in this mount). So now I'm exploring other options to mount the laptop with the screen open.
That's awesome to hear Dylan! I was stoked when it all clicked and immediately had to start modelling something. Glad you found the vid, hopefully more do too then 🤙
The use for this stand confuses me man, like how do you use the laptop in the stand? Am I missing something. If it's just for holding the laptop when you're not using it why would you need access for your ports?
stereo92 is right, I use the laptop connected to my desktop setup, plugs into my Audio interface to run the Speakers and Mic, the Ultrawide Monitor and peripherals 🤙 I am getting stuck with figuring an easy way to power on from shutdown with the lid closed, might have to code up a WakeOnLan solution with a separate device.
It's a secret 😉 naah haha I have a iFootsge SharkNano motorised camera slider. Thats how I pull of majority of my steady camera movements that are filming me.
Hey Joseph, Temps seem to be pretty much the same as before, maybe a couple degree's cooler. And yes, I use it every day, absolutely love having it out of the way 👍
Slowly getting better 😢 Fell off my skateboard 3 months ago, after multiple X-Rays and an MRI they've narrowed it down to fluid from injured tissue pressing on a Nerve... spent Christmas holidays indoors playing games which wasn't that bad but meant I missed out on some riding trips and activities (I don't like to sit still haha). Yesterday was the first day trying without the splint, still a while left of rehab though but it's healing. Thanks for asking 😄👍
Get yourself a thinkpad (with a dedicated gpu, something around the mx450, a500 or m2000m), then make a vertical stand that requires the laptop to be OPEN. Thinkpads open to 180 degrees, you could repurpose the built in screen as an additional monitor.

Have you thought about adding cooling to the laptop?

I want to buy a vertical stand for laptop bur how do I turn it on every single time? (The button is under the lid)

one issue with that setup you could burn your screen, on high loads the cpu heat will make the screen yellowish

and can you tell me how to turn on with lid close

AWEWSOME Video! Such a simple concept in theory but so effective in practice :) GG!
Thanks Shaun 😍 I'm seriously lovin it, now I have a blank space on the desk to put more tech 😄
Mint video, no messing about, straight to it. Intro was my reaction to the thumbnail lmao. Algorithm pushed this to me so hopefully it keeps going🙏

Awesome video man. Keep it up
Hey Dude! Thanks for watching 🙂 more vids coming soon

i think you can close a laptop and keep it running if it has a connected monitor and keyboard
@@stereo92 Yeah I just remembered you can change what happens when the lid closes in the control panel, it's working now.

What is that device you’re using for sketching the design??
You need to open the lid for proper thermal cooling.
yes is summer on hot days it has overheated when gaming unfortunately :(
But when it's not being maxxed at 100% performance it's had no issues
what that drawing pad you have there
How did you make this camera movement? :) 1:44

hello Cam i just want to ask if how is the temps of the laptop? are u still using this stand/mount?

How’s the hand?

@@camshand vertical sleeve for your laptop, protective sleeve for your wrist. Glad it’s healing, glad you’re keeping busy. Rock on!
Nice video!!! cheers for our first collaboration!!!😛
Hi Emma, Thanks to you and PCBWay for the support!
@@camshand It is also our pleasure!☺

Hi. How do you open your laptop?
I take it out of the stand, no need to have it open when it's plugged into my external monitor, keyboard & mouse.
How do i usee the laptop when its vertical like that ?
It's plugged into an external monitor, mouse and keyboard, doesn't need to be open 👍
Do you have some video with windows setting? Please :))@@camshand
Do you have a link for this to be printed? Literally looking at the same thing myself @camshand
