  • Samsung Galaxy Watch 7: Faster, smarter and double the storage
    Samsung has just unveiled the Galaxy Watch 7: it’s faster and smarter than its predecessor and boasts twice the storage.
    Like the Watch 6, the Galaxy Watch 7 is available in 40 and 44mm sizes, both of which feature full-colour, always-on, Super AMOLED touchscreen displays. The larger model has a slightly higher resolution 480x480 display, while the 40mm model utilises a 432x432 display.
    The Galaxy Watch 7 is powered by the brand new, five-core Exynos W1000 chip - the first semiconductor of its kind to use a 3nm process. Samsung says it’s three times faster than its predecessor and offers more seamless interaction with the watch’s Wear OS 5 interface.
    Both sizes are available as Bluetooth or LTE variants and offer 32GB of internal storage - an upgrade over the 16GB offered with last year’s Watch 6.
    As you’d expect of a smart wearable designed for tracking your well-being, the Galaxy Watch 7 is crammed full of sensors. Samsung’s BioActive Sensor is effectively three sensors in one covering an optical bio-signal sensor, electrical heart signal and bioelectrical impedance analysis sensor. There’s also a temperature sensor, accelerometer, barometer, gyro sensor, geomagnetic sensor and light sensor. The watch’s GPS is said to be more precise this time around, too.
    All of this enables the watch to take readings of your heart rate, blood oxygen level, body composition and a whole lot more to provide insight into how well you sleep, your general health, and your fitness when exercising.
    More pleasing still is that Samsung hasn’t raised the price. All four models available at launch cost the same as the Galaxy Watch 6 did when it was released last year, starting at £289 for the 40mm Bluetooth model and running up to £369 for the 44mm LTE model.

    What is the battery life of 40mm and 44mm watches?

    • @expert_reviews
      @expert_reviews  Месяц назад

      We weren't given a battery life estimate for the Galaxy Watch 7. Both sizes are likely to deliver similar results to their predecessors, however, as they run off the same 425mAh and 300mAh cells. To give you some idea of how that translates to real-world use, Samsung claimed the 44mm Galaxy Watch 6 was able to last up to 30 hours with the always-on display engaged.

    They just forget to tell, that if of now, you cant even start /activate the watch, if you dont have a samsung phone. No watch 7 plugin in the play store for now. Thats a bummer..... So I cant use my new watch 7 :-(

    • @expert_reviews

      The Watch 7 isn't limited to Samsung phones but there some Galaxy AI functions that require a Galaxy AI-enabled smartphone to access.
      With regards to the Play Store: the phone doesn't officially launch to the public until July 24th and so full public support isn't necessarily guaranteed until then.

      It's a dark grey/green metallic colour. The 40mm comes in the green and a cream colour (looks like a cross between silver and a pale gold). The 44mm comes in green or silver.
