Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I ruclips.net/user/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
*Love this unit! Using upstairs in my sons bedroom **Fastly.Cool** and he’s finally able to be comfortable upstairs without me freezing downstairs. Works for more sqft than expected!*
how the pressure will get to zero if you will not first close the high side line 😡😡😡. totally wrong procedure shown in the video
Watch it again... when the system stabilised he closed the high side forcing the pump down.
I agree, most instruction say to close the high side first
@@tonyp6088 so the best way is wait for the system to stabilized first? Before closing valve or is it not necessary
When we close the high side, the low side flow will reduce to zero.
What if i closed the liquid line and suctioned in all the gas and then didn't want to continue with pump down and released liquid line. How long before system works again and system balances? Any issues doing that?
Great simple video! Thanks
you forgot to show how to turn the compressor off once the pump gauge reches 0 psi
Disconnect switch, or have someone turn the system off with remote
@@geecee9770 That is nonsense. You pull out the fuses (disconnect) outside. Using the remote does nothing. You’re forgetting the wires need to be disconnected too. Kill the power completely
@@StormInDiDormEntertainment i did say disconnect switch or you can use the remote which turns off the compressor. From there the system has been pumped down. Replacing or removing the condensor yes obviously you will have to kill power source from breaker but not to complete a pumpdown. Some people may use a client to turn off the power while they are working outside during a pumpdown and its safer for them in that situation to use the remote once its done you can kill the power completely
Just flick the isolator 👍🏻
As soon as you front seat the valve, shut off the power to the outdoor unit.
Just a question. Don't you need to purge low side gauge hose with a bit of refrigerant gas before you evacuate the system ? I thought that at the very end of evacuation compressor can create a little bit of vacuum which sucks the oxygen from the hose into AC if it was not purge prior. Thanks.
It should be. What about compressor type? Most digital inverters are build on scroll compressor. Is it safe to pump it down?
@@robertinogg One of my split has twin rottary compresor and the other rottary compressor. I’ve pumped them down many times and not an issue. I’m using a gauge so once it reach 0 and start to pull vaacuum I’m closing the suction valve as fast as possible and switch the unit off.
@@misenko856 Great. So how can I check compressor type in my mini split?
@@robertinogg In case you have a mini split just pump it down and not think that much about it :) If you won't keep it running with closed valves for a long time, you should be fine.
Where can I find more videos relating to mini split systems?
UH YOUTUUUUUUUBE?
I know that we remove pipe line in indoor unit and not in out door or what
सर यह जो गैस स्टोर होगा वह इंडोर में होगा या आउटडोर में ही
If I need to install it at a different spot, do I need to recharge? or can I just vacuum the lines and reconnect as if the compressor was already precharged?
Yes, vacuum the lines, then release the 2 valves. No extra gas required unless it escaped, or has extra long pipe run.
Attention il faut réaliser un tirage au vide des tuyaux du mano avant !
go go ninja shredder valve!
There are steps missing in this video
oh no, air in blue hose is in the system now...
Exactly this came into my mind. He forgot to purge the hose before evacuation with little bit of refrigerant in the system...
Also didn't see you purge air from your gauge set.
You dont need to purge the air if the gas is being disposed of. But yeah there are a few things wrong with this video.
@@matttzzz2 You have to because at the end of evacuation compressor create a little bit of vacuum which sucks everything from hose in, including oxygen...
What if the weather is cold and you can't turn the AC on ?
Alexis Mora put it on cooling then use a hair dryer over the coil on the indoor unit to trick the system into cool mode
System ON cooling mode and put the outside condensor probe in your mouth to heat it up.
Daikin had powermode button
I noticed a lot of bad procedures in this video. Now, i understand why 80% of Hvac residential technicians are bad.
😶😶😶😶😶
What bad procedures did you notice?
@@stevendesmet8063 how did it get to zero in the first place with both service valves open !
he skipped closing the liquid line. by closing the liquid line valve you are letting refrigerant into the compressor but not allowing it to escape. eessentially filling it up, once it hits low pressure under like 40 psi, close your suction line. then you are good to release your flare nuts,
@@ravet3254
So while the compressor run the pressure must first go to 0 on the low side
I'm pretty sure low side pressure should stabilize on some value above zero while in normal (cooling) operation. Once high side valve is closed then the low side pressure will start falling again, and it should stabilize close to 0. That's the moment when low side valve should be closed. However, use of gauge in this video is pointless.
@@imStrato I had an impression that at the end of evacuation compressor behaves as a pump and may create a little bit of vacuum which suck everything from blue hose in, including oxygen. To prevent this you would need to close valves before it reaches zero but then you will have some refrigerant left in lines...
You Don't show to Indoor switch Off After You Suction pipe valve was Closed by You This is Not Fair Video To Learn New Technication
You didn't say to pull the power.
This is meant to be done by what appears to be an HVAC pro? He has just sucked in air into the compressor. Have a professional do the job and ignore these U Tube improvised HVAC cowboys. Now you know what to expect if you hire ECS
Lol what is a "shredder" valve.
its the same valve you have on your pushbike inner tube - wiki - The Schrader valve consists of a valve stem into which a valve core is threaded, and is used on virtually all automobile tires and motorcycle tires and most wider rimmed bicycle tires. The valve core is a poppet valve assisted by a spring.
Very confusing and misleading, what will make the pressure drop to zero???!
If you close discharge vale, compressor will sucks in everything is in suction line...
Who tf mounted the isolator to the side cover Jesus Christ hahahahahaha mount it on the wall or on a piece of unistrut/cantilever
Ever thought that this is just for test purposes?
@@MarcelHVAC even still its a stupid place to put it, could have mounted it on the metal frame behind the unit or even under the indoor unit screwed to the wood
Yeah it is called an isolator switch. Needs to isolate power supply, this way its never isolated from the unit. Ticking time bomb waiting for short to ground and boom lol
Don’t follow his procedure you will be in deep trouble
Why? Ive seen several videos and they all did it like this
@@goata007 oxygen in blue hose for example...
Quack technician, horrendous skills
B*ll s**t....how can goes to 0psi without closing valve
He did close it after system stabilized... watch it again, but he forgot to purge blue hose...
