You might also try iron on edging used for edging plywood or chipboard. My draws are on wooden runners, they're old and the wooden runner is worn so the draws have dropped 1-2mm. I'm going to try either this method or iron on.

Thanks for comment Martin. Good idea! I've have found that these self sticking clear vinyl corner edge pieces are only 1mm (0.040in) thick and have worked to take up for the rail wear, in my case perfectly as is...I was pleasantly surprised...contact paper/ vynil shelf linner material might work as well too...

Mines is the same..the wood at the edge is down past the nail. What's the iron method??

Put a little Vaseline on the bottom of the plastic before you reinstall the drawer & it'll work even better.

How do you fix drawers that move side to side when you pull them out.

This hack addresses the slide runners on the outside edges of the drawers. Since it uses a 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch by about 1mm thick right angle strips, the side to side gaps are also lessened to a small amount, as is in the more wear prone up and down dimensions. If the drawers are also experiencing side to side slop, more than likely the central guide rail and slot on the bottom of the drawers have been worn down beyond 2mm, or have been damaged, or even have gone missing. This hack could be doubled up and/or added to the top edges of the subject drawer if there is enough room for the additional edge-ing to be applied. Thanks for the comment. I hope that this response is helpful to you.

Don't you want to install handles, so it's easier to open them?

I prefer to leave the antique original wood vinear unscathed. And I don't want to snag on external added-on handles...small bedroom...I have become used to having to use both hands to open the drawers...old school style...Thanks for suggesting though...
