    If you put a blue (removable threadlocker) on the studs, it will perform and haul like stock capacity. Mine I carry 1 ton bed cargo with my ford Ranger with 25mm spacer on it, using cheap thailand made spacer but at least it is centric ring type for ranger specifically and I used thread lockers and torqued on spec.
    I never removed the lugs not even once after 2 years, I just visually check and wiggle it and it looks the same as before. I told you, the threadlocker will make a huge difference and confidence when your working on your cars.

  • @bethzarin6439
    @bethzarin6439 Год назад

    As long as the spacer is Centric Hub, it's good to use. You won't believe me, I have a Ford Ranger here in the Philippines with 35mm Centric Hub spacer (Cheap made in Thailand one with Fast and Furious brand), and boy oh boy I carry a whole 1 bagger concrete mixer, literally on the bed not just towed. And those spacers are great, it can handle like it's nothing, plus my wheels looks macho and wide. I travelled 1,200km with spacers carrying 50 pieces of 3.4 meter shoring jacks , extended type that you can insert 3/4 of the half into the bigger pipe, so I the tail gate is open and the end of the jack is exactly at the end of the tail gate (floor shoring steel jack used in construction), not a problem at all. The trick is is I put blue loctite threadlocker on each of the inner and outer studs. It's removable, I learned it from ChrisFix, always put threadlocker man. The wheels is fully sagged, and a little play in the suspension. I can feel the thug of my suspensions fully deppressed but I didnt mind it, since ford rangers have strong underchassis.

    Thanks for this video. I will be installing 1" spacers on the rear on my 24 Maverick, and then moving them to the front and installing the 1.5 on the rear moving the 1" to the front after they get some 1.5's in stock. That will almost balance the track perfectly. I may even just keep it with the 1" on the back, and leave it alone. I did not see you torque yours down when installing them. Anything I should know before I start the job? It looks pretty straight forward.
    So, I did install 1" spacers on the back of my XLT. I did not have to cut down the studs. I torqued them to 100ft lbs spacer to wheel, then wheel to spacer same 100ft lb per the manufactures instructions. Fyi the cavities in the stock wheels was enough to allow the wheel to fit. I actaully think am going to just stay with the spacers on the rear and leave thr front alone. It looks more balance. I hope this helps someone doing something similar.

  • @perrytalkkari4166
    @perrytalkkari4166 Год назад

    After watching your install, I was thinking maybe 2” spacers on the back and 1.5” on the front. If you retorque your spacers, they’ll be fine to leave on. Black aftermarket lug nuts would look great on your truck.

    Do not use an impact when replacing studs ? Bull, I'm a certified auto mechanic, started working as a mechanic in 1973, for 50 years now I have been using an impact gun replacing wheels and studs, and never, I repeat, never had a failure !

    • @maverickoverlandadventures
      @maverickoverlandadventures  Год назад +5

      Using an impact on lugs is extremely dangerous man. Most impacts are capable of applying far more foot lbs of torque than the recommended amount, which can in severe cases cause the studs to stretch and fatigue the metal, leading to eventual failure especially if the method is used a lot on those same studs/lug bolts.
      They aren't meant to take that much force. In the Maverick's case, the recommended torque for the lugs is 148 ft lbs. Nearly all impacts that are readily available at big box stores are capable if MUCH more than that even on the lowest setting.
      I'm not denying that you know your stuff if you have the experience that you say you do, but it's likely that the impacts that you've been using are much lower torque tools. There are certainly options out there that produce an acceptable amount of torque, but overall MOST impact drivers, especially air powered ones are much too powerful and dangerous to use.
      Additionally, even if the impact that you are using is very low powered and is applying an acceptable amount of torque to the lugs, all vehicle's torque specs are different and an impact offered no way to get them exactly to spec.
      You've been lucky so far that a customer's studs haven't been overtorqued to the point of failure yet.
      Also. You have to remember that I'm making content that other people are going to learn from and do themselves. If I say using an impact is fine and show myself doing it, some 17 year old kid is gonna bang out 1200 ft lbs on his studs and his whel is going to separate while he's drqg racing his buddies and he's gonna die. You can't honestly argue that me saying the correct way to do it is to use a torque wrench and apply the EXACT amount of pressure that the manufacturer recommends is incorrect lol
