  • There is a circular pipe with varying cross-sections along the length. Hot water enters at one end, there is convection and radiation heat transfer from the pipe's outer surface, you need to find out the decrease in water temperature & variation throughout the length.
What will you learn from this tutorial?
👉 How to create a pipe Geometry having different diameters along its length.
👉 Creation of sweep mesh and O-grid in ANSYS.
👉 How to check the aspect ratio & skewness of generated mesh.
    👉 Fluent Solver set up.
👉 Assigning convection and radiation Boundary condition simultaneously.
👉 How to create a reference line in ANSYS Fluent.
👉 How to plot graphs in Fluent.
👉 Contours, Streamlines, Velocity vectors in CFD-Post Processing

Great work, if the wall has a thikness, Can we have axisymmetric sweep method or not?

Axisymmetric sweep is possible for single body, to add thickness ,you can add it in fluent solver wall boundary condition

But there is two hypothesis in this case, o-grid with shell conduction and without shell conduction, also, o-grid meshed wall, Can you explain this and how to solve it?@@AnsysTutor

You need to create the o grid mesh manually using this technique ruclips.net/video/8_osCXZjv_g/видео.html

i use ANSYS 2019 R2 Academic. somehow my meshing doesn't look like yours. in Sweep Method there is no Mesh in Center, and there is also Sweep Num Divisions instead of O-Grid Divisions. maybe it came from the difference between versions R2 and R3

yes, its not available in other versions, only in latest 19 R3 Version.

How did you select all 3 sketches after skin/loft?

You can select from the outline or right click on sketch then select "always show sketch" option to get the sketch in every stage.
