  • Although the Seattle Sounders will be the first MLS club to play in the FIFA Club World Cup, they shouldn't be. In 2001, the LA Galaxy qualified for the CWC, were drawn in a group with Real Madrid, but then a FIFA scandal cancelled the whole tournament.

For what it's worth, DC United also won all three tournament games outright... 8-0, 2-0, and 1-0... and beat two Mexican clubs in the process... and while DC United didn't get to qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup, they did play in the last version of the Copa Interamericana, against the South American Copa Libertadores winners, Brazil's Vasco da Gama. DC United won 2:1 over two legs (though the "away" leg wasn't in Brazil, but Florida).

Yeah, no one knows for sure what they fell out over, but it actually tore their small town apart. There was a river through the town and Adidas was on the north side so Puma got set up on the south side and basically the two halves of the town stopped talking to each other. Also, because they never made up, they were eventually buried on opposite ends of the town.

It's honestly so nice to know that Football (actually you guys call it soccer there but here we call it football 😅) in The US actually has a lot of supporters, i Hope that Football there gets better and better until one day maybe we can make a Good National Team and win The WC, it could take a while but it's my dream, I've never really been to the US as I came to Brazil when I was 2 but my dad always told me about how amazing the country is and he also told me a lot about Atlanta United, that I can't watch due to it not passing on TV here, but I still keep an eye out on the news and the match info, so I created a bond to the country and it's league even though I've basically never been there
And i Hope the MLS continues growing to the point where it gets international relevance and it may actually be possible to see it here
Well anyways thank you for making so much content about this Sport, my life isn't that easy and watching a football match is always something I'd resort to do when I had to refresh my mind, it's just something that may frustrate me sometimes but it's a sport I'll simply love forever, and i want for more people there to know how good this Sport is as well
So thanks for making a channel based on this Sport that's basically a part of my life

Lol Anthony LaRosa, LA Galaxy's story is not as big as Enyimba FC's back to back 2003 and 2004 victories that disappointed the biggest black Nation on Earth, Nigeria for seeing their strongest club go against the best in the world. Funny FIFA CWC restarted in 2005 and no Nigerian club has ever had the chance since. Did you know that the desire to play on the international stage was so much that the NFA had to invite Portsmouth FC, the English FA cup champion at one time to play Kano Pillars the League Champion? Of course, they were thrashed though, lol. They weren't on that Enyimba FC's level as it was in those hey days. My point is, FIFA f*d up, big time. Some countries even more than others.
Well, today, I want FIFA to scrap their current format, and let the competing teams play out of two groups A and B like a normal tournament. I assure you, it won't be easy for the European teams that have the money and deep rosters. Makes the tournament more interesting. And it was the format of 2000 that made we begin watching club football round the world. You would be surprised that I know MLS clubs because I picked interest. But I bet you don't know more than 3 African clubs without using Google.
