Jennifer, I'll try to post the patterns on the blog ASAP, but in the meantime you can use google search for Dashi and Tweak and use the images to create the patterns and tulle fabric you can get a piece at a fabric store, sometimes they have it among all the scraps.Joan's or Walmart has them.
Catherine, sorry for a late response, I use template I made from an image I found online. You can resize it to your preference and cut out from a thicker paper or plastic sheet and cut out cookies using the template.
Hi Hani, I was going to ask you how you're doing but it looks as though you are doing wonderful just like your artwork! Yesterday, September 3 was my grandson's sixth birthday and it was so hot that I wished instead of making him a four tier birthday cake just for the family that I would have made a bunch of cookies shaped like the number six or something much easier. It was an unheard of 92° in Port Orchard Washington, we are breaking every record in the book this year for our temperatures heat wise and my cakes are showing it. Even after putting my cake in the freezer for an hour, within minutes it started to melt. So forget the piping, smooth out the sides I used the silicone # 6 mold and because it wasn't very thick, I made two of them and frosted it back to back and put it on top of the cake with wooden dowels holding it in place and even after having five windows and cardboard under it, the layers thawed out so fast , just taking it next door going outside from air conditioning straight to our freezer had started to melt and slide. What a mess. My grandson is extremely intelligent however he has great difficulty talking which I am teaching him sign language but he has been gone quite a bit lately with another family member, not a very positive role model, and a lot of what I have taught him has gone by the wayside. But when he saw this cake, he saw the number six on the top and was so excited, He said "Dat Me"! Then he said "Me 6"! Anyway, we were really excited, happy tears for everyone and then this morning, I saw the Octonauts on here and you were the first person I saw, sort of, so I had to tell someone, hope you don't mind but I remember when my grandson Evan would sit on my lap and we would watch the Octonauts in the morning together. He is such a good boy and so smart that he just get so frustrated because he has not been taught the way he needs to be and I am trying to change all that now. I was wondering if you have ever done any SUPER WHY cookies? That is another program that I watched with all of my grandchildren except the youngest as he doesn't live near me but his mother says he also loves the program and so because of that I would love to make those cookies for all of my Grandsons. Of course they love Superman, Spiderman, Batman, The Hulk. Of course more than that, he likes what we call her every day heroes and that is the firemen, the policeman and the men and women that are in the military that protect us and keep us out of harms way and we prayed for them to keep them safe every day. Do you have anything in that line also? I know what you mean, if you are looking for white background, you could possibly fill the surrounding areas with white, once the piped character has dried, as you see I didn't do that. Or perhaps if you are looking for a specific background color, you could ice the whole cookie with white, and then use the desired color for the airbrush transfer. I haven't really tried wiping it off.

Did you have a cookie cutter for these figures or did you cut the shape while the cookie was still warm? Do you think these figures would work with frozen buttercream transfers?
These were hand cut, you can find template online, I cut the shape while the cookie dough is still raw but firm so it is easier to cut with the exacto knife.I haven't tried them with frozen buttercream so I can tell you exactly but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Hello Haniela, I love youre art, but my comment is ; don't you get all the colors mix? When I don't wait until one color is totally dry or with the airbrush paint the color comes mixed and floats on top of my white icing, any tip you can share with me? Thanks
Please could you tell me which size cake tins you used for the Octonauts cakes and roughly how high each one is? I can't use your recipe partly because we don't have some of the US ingredients and partly because I have to make the top cake gluten free so have to adapt. Also have to make egg free royal icing because of allergies! I'm going to buttercream cake cos bday girl doesn't like fondant (or chocolate!!) So looking forward to playing with my new airbrush!

For decorating cookies I mostly use bags without piping tips for certain technique though I would still use a piping tip.

I like my cakes at 4 inch or higher. and I think the pans were 8 and 6 inch if I remember correctly.
