I think it's a pretty cool rig, especially since a lot of people would gut it if it came as an RTR. A little pricey, maybe. Hey Logan, since you have Axial's ear tell them to bring back the 1/10 Betty body!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Great rundown and glad to see they gave you a prototype you could actually drive. Says a lot about your channel and where you are at with manufacturers knowing you will put things to the test and showcase their strengths. I still have reservations about the cost and the intended market, but I have been wrong before!
Great kit, nice to see Axial making a more competitive kit again. I miss the AX10/XR10 days so, pumped to get my hands on one of these. Performs well in stock form but still tons of potential there. Too much for a slider though, maybe we will see a price drop once the initial appeal wears off? Thanks for the video!
Why aren't videos mentioning the biggest benefit of underdriving the rear instead of overdriving the front? And that's to help eliminate torque-twist(we all know the reasons for over/under gearing, I'm just talking about underdriving the rear as opposed to gearing up the front). Never overdrive the front when you can underdrive the rear. You can always gear-up(there's always bigger pinion) but have a limited number for gearing down. Did they send you the rig with the 3-link and CMS? I think it's smart to have the the SOA 4-link option...especially where the servo mounts low behind the axle tube. It's absolutely "scale" , go to any serious off-road event, and nearly every rig has full hydro mounted to the axle, hence SOA. I think the Pro is the best thing to come out of the Axial camp since the original SCX10 or even the comp-ready AX10 Scorpion ARTR.
Good morning Logan thanks for sharing this new truck with us Sir. I'm definitely sold can't wait until I can get myself one (England) to build myself. Have a great week buddy 🇬🇧🇺🇲🕊️🤩👍🏼🤙🏼
Hi! great video! Me too I bought Axial PRO. I noticed an interesting winch on your car and I am asking you if you can write the model and were I can buy it!!! Many thanks ;-)
Yepp I'll be doing this build to. Month ish. Doing it with a collaboration with my local hobby sho0 Type thing. Haha. Great review man. I think the interview you did, ans really your thoughts alone really help push this truck. Harley being the first was good as well. Can't wait to see what your going to do. 😎👍👍
Aren't the axle tubes steel? Harley Designs weighed his prototype unit to have almost as heavy tubes as the optional brass ones are. I'm quite interested on getting one, although when trail running it will probably need a servo for switching the underdrive
Are u coming to the slikrok event in sand hollow ? If so bring your RZR and come hangout and ride with us! Also it is the 17 through the 19 of February. If you come bring your chupa Capra.
Well underdrive is working all the time, dig is an on off type of function. Dig certainly has its benefits. This truck was aimed at the class 2 competitions where dig is not allowed.
Debating whether to get this the Capra or the basecamp for a comp crawler starting point. I want to run 2.2s eventually so maybe Capra? What do you think?
Just a sub here; the only one I have is the Basecamp, and only upgraded the rims and tires. I gotta tell ya I adore that thing. It just doesn’t stop. Good luck and have fun with your choice. Mike in Florida 😊
Pro vs. the Base Camp, hmmmm. Tough question, I don't know? Not sure if one is better than the other. The Pro is awesome but for a comp build, I think you might be better off starting with the Base Camp (or even the 10ii Builders Kit). The transmission on the Pro is great but pretty big and much heavier than a typical 3-gear transmission. So, you'd probably want to change it out, which means an aftermarket skid (at minimum). Of course, you'll likely want to upgrade the chassis on the Base Camp/10ii? Honestly, I think there are pros and cons to both and ultimately, I don't think you can go wrong either way. As for the Capra, I love mine and it can be competitive but I think a rail chassis is a much better starting point. I hope that helps but probably doesn't, lol? 🤷♂️
would be funny if people upgrade this to the interceptor due to all the hype that chassis got :p but seriously, how competitive would this new axial be when pitted against a 9+ degree angled skid chassis. axial should not have been too conservative in it's design so that drivers don't throw away their chassis for better ones. i would like to try the new axles when a portal version comes out. for a newbie, this is an awesome rig to get for their first crawler
The price is laughable, for a roller chassis without wheels they should be selling this for £300 max. I could make an scx10ii including electronics perform this well for less than the asking price of the pro kit
Yes you can but it’s missing forward motor, angled skid, tunable shocks, decent shocks, real links, optional servo placement, steel axles, and underdrive. Now by the time you add that it’s clear why it costs what it does
I’ve driven both, this truck is certainly more planted and aimed at high performance but that’s great if you like the basecamp 👍 they’re fun trucks too
@@mmosquini i like my rock pirate scx10ii even better than my basecamp. And both my Scx6 str8 axles. Portals and str8 axles both have there place. I guess we’re not allowed to have opinions.
Thanks for unsubscribing, you’re not welcome here anyway. I am friends with the people who designed and sell the truck I am helping them as they are helping me. I just tell you what it is I’m not begging people to go buy them. This is simply for people interested in the product and want to learn more about it. Super pumped for this kit. Already pre ordered. Can't wait for all the build videos. Thank you for posting.
The more you get into RC the more you want stuff like this. Guts only options.
Exactly
That’s a winner…would love to build one of these up in 2023!

That is AMAZING terrain you get to wheel! Great video!
I'm hoping people are really going to like this chassis as its really the only "ready-to-go" comp/LCG crawler kit on the market.
May have to pick one up, if they offer w portals...
Got mine on order! Can’t wait!

Why do you think that axial went with a straight axle instead of a portal ?
Very good overview. It’s a great way to build up a custom rig. What’s the wheelbase?
12.5 inches
Detailed product review man, we'll done.
I haven’t checked in a while. Love your channel though bro.
If you use gears in front and rear over/ under it doesn't like to trail so much lol.
Do you think dig would be more useful than the selectable underdrive?
You can run under drive the whole course and still comp legal and guys who don't want an extra servo it keeps it simpler.
Well underdrive is working all the time, dig is an on off type of function. Dig certainly has its benefits. This truck was aimed at the class 2 competitions where dig is not allowed.
