    On serious note... Fedor used to be an amazing submission artist, look his record up - back when he was on a roll he was submitting guys left and right, and now he relies only on his hands even though his chin is GONE. Sad to see favourite fighters deteriorate not only in physical department but in technical arsenal as well.

    You're wrong, Chael. His team was quoted shortly before or after the Mark Hunt fight saying Fedor has become slower. He was already past his prime in late 2006. His reflexes and punches have clearly become slower. This happens with age.
    Fedor has also been quoted saying he stopped lifting heavy.
    Ultra-sharp reflexes and fast, powerful punches were the glue that kept Prime Fedor's skill set together.
    He's still an extremely strong grappler, but his stand-up is completely shot. And it's not just because his chin is gone

    @alanmartinezrodriguez884 5 лет назад +2

    Oh Uncle Chael, you're usually on point with your assessments but you're so wrong about Fedor:
    1. SKILLS: Now Fedor only "boxes" (brawls, to be honest). That is it. No Wrestling, No Judo, No G&P., no submissions.
    2. WEIGHT: Fedor used to weigh at 235/6 in his prime. But a solid 235. Muscles not fat like now.
    3. EXPLOSIVENESS: It's not there anymore; his opponents read everything he's doing before it happens.
    4. PRIME: Fedor is clearly, clearly past his prime. At least 10 years past. There is consensus about this judging on his body, skills, fights outcomes, and above, his ability to take damage.
    Fedor has become a one dimensional brawler, unfortunately...

    I can't imagine how rampages body feels. He has to feel decimated. I want Rampage to win, but if Fedor wins, we still all win. I must say, rampage seems huge.

      @@denisemitchell9876 I agree too. More fedors weight he already had enough muscle I guess he wants as much power as possible going for ko.

    Rampage’s boxing offense and defense is I think an even bigger problem than his and Fedor’s respective chins. Fedor is always an ace of spades though; even though it’s hard to watch him nowadays I still don’t count him out. He really can still do anything and he has the power to put Rampage out.

    Rampage weighing in at 265 is not an advantage in this fight. It may severely affect his cardio which I have a feeling it will.Fedor is smart weighing in at 240!

    Man im so excited for this fight! I hope Rampage wins and Fedor retires. It would be a fitting end for Fedor to retire in Japan after all those years in PRIDE

    The only reason Chael is saying Fedor is still in his prime is because he lost to him and he doesn’t want to say he lost to a washed up Fedor.

    Only thing I would also say is fedor is likely less confident and his opponents are more confident. That and his chin is a lot weaker, but his skills and speed/power all look very good

    Rampage would destroy Jon Jones in a street fight. 265 lbs, Jon definitely wouldn’t rematch him in heavyweight.
