Seinfeld and Spin City seem to be the choice of shows. Not bad I think anyway.
Also, ads for Blockbuster, Kmart and that awful famous dancing baby commercial.
This video last around 12 minutes.

People in 1998 watching tv
People in 2023 watching people watch tv
It's weird seeing people so absorbed in television. Now everyone has a phone in their hand and is doing two things at once.
True bro 😢
And not living life
Busy with so much bull all day
And doing stupid challenges
It feels like hanging out at my grandparents house
I used to mute the tv and do improv with my friends with the tv on if we were super bored. I miss when I could go over a friends house and if we were watching a movie we were JUST watching a movie and not scrolling through 10,000 apps during it.
@@usagis294Yeah you're right Usagi. I wish I could have a Time Key and travel to the 20th century like Chibiusa and live in your time :(
Eerily amusing and terrifying at the same time. 😆
🤣🤣🤣
@@vampirerobot LOL You know what I am saying 😆
😂
Yep those were the days no phones or good internet 😂
I was 3 years old that year
I was a newborn at this time, but boy I would love to go back to the 90s, so much more simple and very homey.
90s were a true blessing
When it zoomed in and out it reminded me of something outta American Beauty 😅
Might be that same guy recording. We'll know if he gets distracted by any plastic bags flying around outside.
This channel is a marvel. I love that we can just observe and exist in these bygone spaces with no commentary.
Nostalgia at it's best. Our family did that right after supper. Me & my older brother would have our barefeet up on the coffee table. My sister too would watch tv with us too. We had a tv upstairs too but usually watched together as a family. Great times & no cellphones to distract us.
Those 90s era TV sets look so ancient now and so huge lol. The screen also looks so small to me compared to today's sets.
Seinfeld still holds up!!!
Yeah, it does along with the commercials
Indeed!
0:15 One of my favorite remembered Seinfeld quotes!
Wow! How weird is that? Such an awesome show!
@@vampirerobot you hate seinfield show there little girl but your favorite show is Wild Kratts
@@vampirerobot Or a sitcom like Relatively Normal could easily fill the Wednesday 8:30PM/7:30c slot had NBC not double-pumped Seinfeld on Wednesday nights, but ABC's "Dharma & Greg" would've easily crushed it.
I remember sometime during the mid 90s going to my cousin’s house and watching Beavis and Butthead as well as Ren and Stimpy on their brand new 27” Sony Trinitron XBR that his parents just bought.
Nice fake story little toddler kid.
I have no idea if most of these are personal home movies of yours or if you find them, but they're always gold.
seriously i want to know lol
I believe they're a channel 4 news(?) B roll footage archive.
@@REPORTEVERYLIBERALCOMMENT how do you know?
@@laylasworlds7926 In a few of the videos the cameraman tells the people he's capturing video of. I've been going through the whole collection and watching them beginning to end.
time traveller
Dang, look at the old school computer and dot matrix printer in the background 😮..
That PC was like $3k
I was 8 years old at the time. Good year. The 90s were something special
I was 3
Excellent video reminds me how we all sat in front of the tube in the mid 90s all watching WWF or Baywatch
That little boys socks are trifling 😩😭😭😭😭
Is that the episode of Seinfeld where George was taking the sexy pictures? I remember that! 😆
Yes
TV be lookin’ like a microwave 😂
That TV was already old in 1998. Must've been 10 years old or something
I'm glad you captured this
it is so wild seeing that dancing baby actually being watched in the 90s - I've only ever seen it on youtube
The only difference from today is we are "multitasking" on our phones while watching 😅
So, you're doing many things at once; but not accomplishing anything.
This show was hilarious and they don’t seem the least bit amused!
Especially the kid with the Wu-Tang t-shirt sitting on the recliner.
@@RedDawg865THEY DIDNT GET THE HUMOR
HOW did you get this footage? Were you friends and just asked if you could film? Are you a time traveler with invisibility cloaking powers? The people in the video seem to completely ignore your presence. The outdoor footage through the window is INCREDIBLE. We never see anything like this and it completely captures the moment in time.
🤣🤣🤣 I agree that was a nice shot out the window
Hes a vampire lol
Boogie nights commercial lol
That shot is magical! It feels like we're truly in 1990s suburbia. Like a ghost eavesdropping on a bygone era.
I love the lack of an agenda, too. No commentary. Very little sense of purpose. We're just a fly on the wall. I can almost see the moon in the sky and smell the fresh evening breeze. Absolutely marvelous.
Yup, I rememberr doing this exact same thing with my family back in the 80s and 90s. We used to do movie nights and laughing, crying, or raging at the movie together. It was a time when family did this together a lot of the times which was so magical and bonding. Truly a magical and fun time to grow up with family and friends.
This footage is clearer than security footage of 2023 😂
I love this channel. It takes me back to my childhood! I even love this guy using the old 1997 U2 PopMart Tour logo for his channel.
lol...your person #3 to have figured that out. Happy you like the videos 😊
@@vampirerobot I love it!
5:10, I remember the dancing baby.
This was back when great tv shows were on . Used to watch friends and Buffy the vampire slayer . As well as Hercules with Kevin sorbo
Why are these videos comforting? Thanks for this.
there's the weirdest spooky/depressing vibe to this
I wonder if it’s because there’s a camera in here, and the kids probably don’t know what else to do besides sit in front of the TV silently and awkwardly, lol.
There’d probably be a little more life and relaxation if the camera wasn’t around.
I think it’s heart warming because everyone is content and watching together. Love it ❤
@@keybyss98 The Internet was only beginning, but there was no RUclips at the time (Pixelon, another video-sharing site was a precursor to that) and people were socializing and getting out more.
it's because kids never watched Seinfeld it was boring Simpsons was on same time slot I'm sure we'll in Australia it was this is how I looked when someone watched Seinfeld when I was younger. but now that I'm older I'm the opposite I love Seinfeld and haven't watched Simpsons for years
I think they were doing it for a news story. This wasn't just a family recording each other.
Peace and prosperity......
That close up of the kid on the recliner is somehow incredibly engaging. 😂
wow what a time! i had a huge 32 inch tv and a cool new dvd player!, and yes like other comments, no cell phones, no laptops and i had the gateway computer but didnt get onto the internet at night! tv time, and sleep time!
Loving this time machine
I had to look up that NBA game at 11:51 since I most likely watched some of it back then as a 15 year old sports nut. Bulls vs Pistons. Michael Jordon’s final season as a Bull. Mike had 17 points in a losing effort. Detroit beat Chicago that night 87-79. The last of their only 20 losses that regular season.
I was the kid with dirty socks probably about the exact same age but I have zero recollection of daily life before like the year 2001.
Ugh dancing baby, Boogie nights, 90210, Spin City with Michael J Fox. I remember watching hours and hours of TV.
the windows 95 or 98 booklet on the desk.. 😂😂😂❤
The reason why we all felt the same way about sooo many things 😮
Oh man the ads and blockbuster. Memories I wish there was one of highland park mi in the 90s
1:25 this is me dissociating while watching Seinfeld
This video shows how and why people were easy to manipulate through media at its lowest form. Now a days voices are much loud making people see things is many different perspectives
holy this video says lot of society
11:57 Channel flipping until you finally find something to watch is a lost art
I prefer this over cell phones
Best sitcom ever
Miss watching the tv in the evenings with my parents and siblings growing up. Also miss the evening movie nights on the weekends.
Wow, just amazing!
Either those kids are not into Seinfeld or they were just willing to watch whatever happened to be on public TV at the time, lol. I can kinda relate to the latter but yeesh, not even a smile cracked or anything lol
I could say this was from a house in Washington, D.C. since satellite systems like Primestar, DirecTV and Dish Network did not offer local channels at the time (unless you had a rooftop antenna of course).
I remember watching that episode!
Elaine’s DR file said she was difficult. She could not find a DR. Lol. Best episode. This is the year I got married. Love it. Just before the cellphone explosion.
Ah the golden years of our life...
Grand theft auto liberty city stories psp ps2 is set in 1998.
I have some dvd s that came in those really cool blockbuster video dvd cases like rambo 2008 cowboys and aliens 2011 Brooklyn finest 2009
Why would a camera crew allow them to film inside their house?
probably footage for the news
Back then when phones didn’t exist the good days
You have the coolest collection of retro/nostalgic videos!
Got anything for Kinkos?
If I do I will post it for you
@@vampirerobot you better post my stuff that I told you little girl😎
If I was a kid in the 90s I’d be watching cartoons all and everyday
Same! And play Nintendo 64 all the day...
in i really wish i want to meet them from 1998 that will be nice though 😊
The exterior shot...filming outside the house was to me similar to 1986 film Manhunter where FBI Agent Will Graham was trying to retrace the Tooth Fairy footsteps.
That's why houses with big yards.
Sporting a pair of curtains!
There's a new episode of Voyager on tonight. Let's watch that.
Dude I forget the days when the computer was in the living room😂 god I'm only 25 😂
You are only five years old there. Interesting
Loving the kid with the Wu-tang shirt on.
Hey man you have any videos of the late 2000s early 10s? I’m 20 so those are the time period that’s really nostalgic for my age group. Love the videos!
There's a few on here. I plan on getting some more uploaded. I've been so busy lately I'm not uploading at the same speed.
You are 2 years old there little kid. Wow
@@vampirerobot yeah right little girl, busy at your preschool homework of watching Wild Kratts show and draw a animal from that show.
Why are kids watching Seinfeld? Lol
I'd occasionally watch it with my parents when I was little, it wasn't particularly dirty
I watched Seinfeld when I was around their age. It would come on right after WWF Smackdown
I was born this year,I got to see the very end of this era as a small child before flatscreens, smartphones and fast internet became commonplace
1:40 lol

I remember seeing that baby dancing in an episode of Ally McBeal at the time.
You are faking it little kid

I was born in the mid 80s
I didn't know kids liked Seinfeld. I mean, it's hard to tell if they're enjoying it but I assume so.
Good vid
Here s something I recall fromthe top.of my head . 10 16 1991 Seinfeld episode I. Which jerry visits his local library and he is informed that he had checked out a book In 1971 and he never returned it. Fast forward in my case to January of 2000 .a family member of mines at our local library is informed she checked out a book in 1991 never returned it. So I believe she paid the fee for the book to via get a new library card
Nice fake story there little toddler kid
The Seinfeld ep in question is a rerun of the Package; not sure what the Spin City ep is a repeat of, however. Anyone know?
Recorded in the DC area
Ok one of those kids has to have seen this. They'd be around my age or so. Speak up yo
My snes copy of wwf raw had a blockbuster video label on back and my PS1 copy of dino crisis has a property of blockbuster video label on it via the disc only
I want to know whose filming all these videos. I love them but curious how they got people to film them.
In 1998 3 29 1998 I got to order wrestlemania 14 live on pay per view
According to Wikipedia, this episode of Seinfeld originally aired October 17, 1996 - not 1998.
The Spin City episode doesn’t line up though…
Plus, what I’m saying is actually disproved at 11:48
Whose family is this and who is recording them? Bizarre.
Most of the footage on this channel is stock film used for bits in the local news. For example it could have been used as a story about how many hours a day kids watch tv and its effect on their health.
They don't seem amused by Seinfeld. Boy's socks so dirty.😂
Seinfeld is boring anyways.
I actually own Seinfeld season 1 2 3 dvd
That your mommy got from a pawn shop and will gonna sell it in a garage sale now. You have a whole collection of Barney the dinosaur, peppa pig, paw patrol and wild Kratts Blu-ray Discs that you have there little kid
The bowl haircut
You remember an video game store called funco land
Yes I do Daniel.
@@vampirerobot well during a Marlins at mets MLB game 9 20 1998 in the rotating billboards you can see a funcoland. And a twins angels game 9 10 1999. You can see a funco land on rotating billboards. 0:41 my honest reaction when I watch sitcoms with canned laughter
This channel is amazing, but I'm so weirded out by the videos of families watching tv / movies / playing videogames .... like ... who was filming? And why? Why the weird zoom-ins? And was everyone instructed to pretend like they didn't notice / know about the camera? And OMG the creepy lurking outside the window shots? And the videos seem to have been going for HOURS?????? WHAT IS THIS?!
This footage doesn't even look like it's from the 90s, with the exception of the CRT TV. The technology used to record this must've been expensive back then...
You can totally tell it was filmed in the 90s.
The tv looks like it’s from the late 80’s in terms of design imo
This looks like something out of Black Mirror lol. Creepy.
I remember slamming the remote
“And they’re the ones righting it off”
Even the birds sound better.
I was 8 years old
Nice
Hey hey, Seinfeld is on! I used to watch that show as a kid actually. Wasn't that bad.
Loved those days in the late 90s. No smart phones yet. The family and I would watch TV almost every evening.
Nice fake story there little girl kid. You only watch Wild Kratts and Peppa pig as your favorite shows
Seinfeld! Yes, this is worth watching.
You gotta write it off..Lol. Seinfeld was the best show ever.
I was only a month old
