Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill) is a shoe salesman who is fond of frequently reliving his doubtful 15 seconds of fame on the football field. Al is terrified of the all-too-frequent amorous advances of his ditsy wife Peggy (Katey Sagal), who spends most of Al's wages at the salon and the mall. They have two teenage kids: stunning but superficial party animal Kelly (Christina Applegate) and egocentric Bud (David Faustino). Married for 16 semi-blissful years, Peggy and Al have found that the secret to a happy marriage is to accept one another's idiosyncrasies.

This TV family thrusted so many "knives" into each other for our pleasure! No other crew could've written, directed, and cast a show this well done. The stars were aligned once this show found its "sweet-spot" TV comedy crew. During an era dominated by precious, heartfelt, light comedy family TV shows, truly if this show was looking to flip the typical "TV family highs & lows sitcom" stereotype on its head and shake out the precious DIRT, then Married With Children did this to absolute perfection!
The Oprah joke just about took me out of this world 😂😂😂😂 a classic this still holds its value

In addition to the 8 track player, we learn 2 seasons later that Al has a family photo circa 1987 hidden in a Big 'Uns magazine in the Dodge 🤣👍

The best part was earlier when he was forced to sell the car and the only people who responded to the ad were winos, terrorists (deleted after 9/11) and mobsters.

This show was perfect un political correct humor. They will never be able to do it again and I don't know if I would want them to because fragile people that need safe spaces could not handle it at all.
I heard they were going to do an animated version with the original actors voicing it.
However, this was before Christina Applegate was diagnosed with MS.
