Its hard not being a shite manager. You can't be everyone's friend and their boss. Only time you can is when you just happen to manage natural hard workers.
@@chaseburns8418 I wouldn't say that's entirely true. It is possible to command respect and still be a leader. I've had plenty of bosses who would come over for a bbq on the weekends. Yet everyone listened when it came time to get shit done. It really does just come down to how well you can interact and manage other people.
Honestly Norm is a really great guy. He could have flipped on Carl when he thought they were in trouble but he didn’t, he basically said “we’re in this together.” We need more friends like Norm. Or I’d be okay with any friends lol.
I never thought about that... hmm. If you remember jim carrey did a movie called "Fun with Dick and Jane" released in 05 it was a like they predicted the events of 08. Istead of a random corporate company losing all its money, the banks did.
When I first saw Norm.... I thought he was the type of boss that would come to your house at 3 am covered in blood, to ask for help burying a body, because he saw you as his best friend after you drank one beer with him.... However, the reality of it... Norm would be the person to help YOU bury the body xD
If anyone cares to know, Norman is Rhys Darby - a New Zealander comedian. Best known for being Murray Hewitt in Flight of the Conchords. He’s brilliant!
Norm has the frameworks of a proper boss. I has his employees back, no matter what and no matter if they were in the wrong. You always, as a manager, have the back of the people you supervise. If shit hits the fan, you can have a conversation with them afterwards on how not to make it happen again, but when the war is on, you have their back like Norm does.
I like how Carl doesn't leave Norm hanging on the fist bump. Carl wanted him to feel like he was a part of the group. You'd be surprised how many people would just flip on you and start ignoring you once they pushed ahead.
Film came out in 2008. 2008 was also the year of the financial crisis from the housing bubble where banks had given out housing loans to anyone and everyone much like Yes Man. This just hits different.
Housing loans are much bigger though. The bigger the loan, the bigger the risk. And that's precisely why most banks don't do small loans, they generally want their clients taking the bigger risk.
It's great isn't it. I remember it when I'm feeling low and realise I need to say yes to more things. I recently went to a zoom puppet making group, have scheduled to go to a board games night and I'm finally going ahead with my business idea. I like how Carl says yes to all sorts of random things and in the process he creates a happy life for himself whilst helping others and making new friends.
Its just movie, the small loan that carl give is getting paid back by everyone, which is impossible because 20 loan getting paid back at the right time is almost impossible in real life XD
Actually the movie in my personal opinion not that good, but when you are going through depression and watch it. It truly shine. Because you will value the message the shows is trying to deliver is be hungry to try new things, think positively and when all things goes bad. Whatever you have learn and share to the people around you will eventually paid off. Hence, this movie is a unique movie that require and deserves to be consider a good movie 😊
I remember going to the movies with my girlfriend that day there was nothing good on the billboard and we said well let's look yes sir. to date it is one of my favorite movies
