I appreciate these kinds of videos a lot as I like to use them in conjuction with the books when getting ready to run these adventures. Thanks for the info!
I'll be running it next week as part of filler for my Thursday campaign and the following day as a one shot for a party of new players. Looking forward to it!
Oh that's GREAT! Come back and let us know how the adventure went. I'd love to hear how it was used as a filler in a campaign AND as a one shot. When you say new players, new to the game or just new to you?
I am planning to use this adventure tonight….as a level 11, potential end-of-campaign, situation. Besides scaling up the NPCs, this adventure is a fantastic template for this type of situation. All of the elements are there for a imaginative DM to swap out and reskin.
That’s fantastic! I actually did something very similar for my campaign. The players are at lvl 13, and I used this as a backdrop for a special event hosted by the elite. They snuck in the night before and stole the gem/egg and buried it on another continent and replaced the display with an ancient red dragon skeleton. From there it was easy to just add a mini boss to raise the dragon from the dead and wreak havoc on the upper crust of society
Great video and good suggestions. I am currently running this with family and they love it. They are using existing PCs that are higher level(6th), so I bumped up all DCs by 3 or 4 and I added a few complications. So far they love it!! Thanks again for your video. It helped a lot with my planning. Question/Suggestion…for PCs that are higher level than the recommended level for the GV one shots, could you possibly suggest some ways to make more challenging? Thanks again and we subscribed to your channel. Great job!
Thanks for the feedback, I’m glad you find them helpful! Also, that’s a great idea! I can start adding additional thoughts and potential improvements at the end the the videos. Thanks for the suggestion!
I love it! With that you can totally have the thing hatch, maybe even in their possession. I would allow them, with a high enough investigation check, discover that it's more than just a gem or stone or whatever, but the clock is ticking and can hatch at anytime. Honestly, this can be an any level adventure going that direction. Up the skill checks a bit and have the creature hatch, now you have a good little battle within the museum. If the players are creative enough, they can team up with the robo-dino to help fight the monster. So many fun things can happen here.
Thanks! I have not run this one yet, but I have run the 3rd-level adventure in the same book, Reach for the Stars. That video should be out in a few weeks

Your library shelves are making me anxious

What do you think about the idea that they do not get told that it actually is an Egg. Just a sort of unknown gem or stone. That it is not magical.

Nicely done! Have you ran this yourself with a group? how did that go?
