Bluebell Railway Diesel Gala 2024

Back again after a hiatus at The Bluebell Railway, we were delighted to host a diesel gala over a three-day event on September 6-8.
We hosted a great variety of traction and visitors for the event, including:
3417 'Gordon Pettitt' (from the Southern Electric Traction Group)
33111 (from the Swanage Railway)
D6851 'Flopsie' ( from Locomotive Services Ltd)
D9551 ( from the Severn Valley Railway)
D8188 (from the Watercress Line)
And also appearances from two of our home fleet diesels:
D4106 and E6040 'The Bluebell Railway' (on its first ever public service trains at the railway since its arrival.)
The event proved to be a success, and it proved to be a memorable gala, especially for 3417, as it was the first gala appearance in 11 years and its first time running across the entire length of The Bluebell Railway.
Our thanks must extend to the MHR Filming Unit and 'The Southerner' for allowing their footage to be used to make this video possible.
