*My daughter drinks lots of water and urinates with the same rate, there are no other symptoms to show if those have anything to do with diabetes. This is a good information that I have gone through **Diabets.Care** She is 2 years 9 months, hale and healthy, have not done any blood test. But I am not certain if one can get diabetes at such a tender age. Please I will like to know more on that*
My elderly mother went to the doctor's office and said she was transitioning to a vegan diet. He supported it whole-heartedly and told her she's now eating the way we were intended to eat. He made many of the same points as this video did. Since then, she's reversed her prediabetes, lowered her cholesterol, and eased the pain and inflammation of her osteoarthritis. It really works, folks. Both my mother and I have reaped the benefits of a plant-based diet. We will never go back to our old eating habits.
that's great news. my mom was diagnosed with diabetes not even a year ago, and i can tell her overall health is getting worse with arthritis and whatnot things she never suffered from. i feel like giving her all this info is the only way i can help her, but I hope she ends up as open minded as your mother seems to be!
I just wish there were more drs out there that knew even a little about this. I had to go see a new dr and when I asked her if she knew anything about a plant-based diet to help me treat my T2 diabetes, she said, no, but her office recommends Weight Watchers. I told her that since going plant-based I have lost 25 lbs and my blood pressure is phenomenal. She just nodded her head and went on to another subject.
Excellent video content! Excuse me for chiming in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you thought about - Patlarny Sugar Outcome Principle (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is an awesome one of a kind guide for reversing diabetes without the hard work. WEHEED ALDELIMI Have you listened to Dr. Neil Nedley? He is the director of WEIMAR INSTITUTE in California. And he and his staff are mostly Adventists, vegans, and vegetarians. Please google his name and you will know more about him.
At about 17:26 he shares about the michondria, the fat burners. To support your body to burn more fat, to speed up your metabolism, intermittent fasting works. Create a 8 hour window, for example, where you eat everyday at 11:00 am to 7:00 pm and fast 16 hours on a vegan diet, the michondra aren't overloaded.
I was so used to pain that I had lost perspective of what it was to feel good. After four month of plant based whole foods I was shocked . I have so much energy that I have had to re plan all of my days. When I get up in the night to use the restroom, I don't walk like Frankenstein with pain in my joints. I practically float with ease! Honestly , one month into it I had a significant difference. My Lupus, Fibromyalgia and rheumatoid are all a thing of the past. You don't have to tell me twice. I'm living proof that animal products are bad. Your body doesn't want them.
Great humanitarian , great doctor . I thank you from the bottom of my hart for all of us the sick , that got sick for being uninformed and uneducated . Walter

He cited the Japanese diet as an example but the Japanese are not vegetarians, so why conflate their diet with a vegan diet? If levels of pre McDonalds Japan diabetes were very low, and their diet was not vegan, wouldn't that indicate that veganism is not necessarily the answer.
True, but I think the point he was trying to make was that a high carb diet will not cause diabetes. High fat diet (from fatty meat) will cause diabetes and the typical Japanese meal does not contain lot of meat (they mostly eat, rice, fish, tofu, seaweed).
This guy is wrong....carbs make sugar spike's...meat , cheese and yes saturated fats are healthy as they do not cause insulin to be activated. Especially if your a diabetic...he is wrong i tuned out.

I reversed my diabetes on a low carb, moderated protein, high fat diet and lost 50 pounds. After 6 months though, I am still insulin resistant. If I eat more than 20 carbs in a meal (last time onions and carrots with a roast) my blood glucose spikes. But as long as I stay away from root veggies and starches I'm fine. My HDL and triglycerides are real good too. Like many on my diet, I avoid all processed and fast foods. In time, on this diet, I believe that I will heal and become more insulin sensitive. This is what works for me.
@Factory I recommend a Ted talk by Dr. Sarah Hallberg who heads a nutrition clinic at Indiana University explaining the main driver of insulin resistance and its cure. ruclips.net/video/da1vvigy5tQ/видео.html

I've noticed the pain which btw is excruciating has minimized. I still feel some numbing but feeling hopeful that with time it will go away. I refuse to believe that I will live with it for the rest of my life
Dr. Barnard is the reason I went whole food plant based a few months ago. Since then, I’m down 20 lbs, have tons of energy, and still losing every day and feeling amazing. My depression and anxiety have improved markedly, and I’m never hungry or counting calories. Of all the doctors, he’s my favorite bc of his kindness in the delivery of his message. I never considered this way of eating when hearing the fanatics rage about why everyone is stupid for not being vegan. It took this man’s common sense approach to make me change, and it’s changed my life. Thanks Doc!
Excellent presentation.. In India great yoga gurus like Swamy Yukteswar Giri (Science of religion, 1894) wrote and explained with scientific facts why humans are actually " fruitarians ".. Following a raw fruits and vegetables diet not only helps lose weight, but brings down sugar levels to normal within a few days.. An occasional water fast and about 25 minutes of walking will increase energy levels.. Indians have known this for 5000 years at least.. But the so-called " educated illiterates " in India followed the western, and especially, American fast food culture and have become increasingly diabetic and heart patients!!! It's great to see Americans learning the virtues of pure vegetarian diets!!!
Don't be too happy with Indian vegetarianism. The widespread use of ghee is speculated to be the reason for such high levels of heart disease due to it being the food HIGHEST in oxidized cholesterol (COP). See nutritionfacts.org/video/oxidized-cholesterol-as-a-cause-of-alzheimers-disease/
@@chrisnamaste3572 well thats not true. We have used ghee for THOUSANDS of years. We just recently introduced western food and We have recently been getting sicker. So it's not the ghee (unless you're drinking it) it's the meat and cheese heavy western diet.
@@vc5338 good point (I'm of Asian origin). And for all those haters of veganism that want to chime in, the proof is in the pudding. Only those people who were diabetic and have managed to reverse their condition on a whole food plant based diet are qualified to advocate on the efficacy of such a diet. I have. And it works!!!
The argument I have between all of the diets discussed on YT is that most of our great grandparents lived in an age where they ate within all of the non-man-made food groups and there wasn't really any diabetes and other food intake cause diseases, were at a good BMI, moved more and lived a long life.
I have tried low fat veg diet without control on carbs, initially seemed to work, but in long term failed miserably because without fat one does not get enough calories to remain active, tend to make up with lots of carb, raising blood sugar. To get rid of diabetes type 2,I switched over to keto diet, which means getting 70% calories from good fat( cow ghee, butter, olive oil, coconut oil),25% protein ( not from milk,or wheat flour,)and 5% from carbs. This has worked wonderfully well,my Hb1c dropping from 10 to 5.Hence I do not agree with whatever is mentioned in this video.Eating lots of vegan to get carb, protein, and minerals and vitamins is good, but not without good fats.
If you were eating your carbs in the form of lots of rice, grains or beans, I'm not surprised you couldn't heal. If you were eating lots of fresh veggies, fruits and no oils, you would heal. The key lies in not eating fats combined with starch/sugar.
Hello I am Marvetta Clarke from Jamaica, watching your program and I find it interesting and really want to eat right so I just want to say thank you for your information, God bless you 🙏🏾❤️.
I loved the way he speaks so clearly for his foreign audience, and reiterates words which are easy to confuse like 70% and 17%. Also, 'if it (cheese) was any worse, you would be eating petroleum'. haha!
I had a patient who was advised his type 1 diabetes had progressed to type 2 diabetes. He was told that he would need insulin injections for the rest of his life and from a dental perspective, facing a lower success rate of implant surgery. Being needle phobic, he was naturally terrified. After hearing about his dilemma, I shared the effects a whole-food, plant-based diet could have the on prevention and treatment of this chronic disease. 18 months later, he is 20kg lighter with his liver, thyroid and kidney functions healthy too. His blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol have also stabilised. It was amazing to see one of my patients come off their medications, having reversed his type 2 diabetes. His GP was also amazed having witnessed how a plant-based diet became a powerful tool in managing and reversing his type 2 diabetes - despite being convinced it was a life sentence.
What kind of Dr are you? You don’t progress from type 1 to type 2 diabetes. They are 2 separate disease processes and diet will not change type 1 diabetes.
I am a borderline overweight/obese, prediabetic. After seeing Dr. Barnard presentation I can honestly say say it’s time for a complete change to an whole food plant based diet. About 20 minutes into the video was very encouraging.
OK, here is the thing . . . . He can be a professional doctor who has lots f experience in his profession, but with all do respect I totally disagree with some of his narrations based on hearing and learning things from other professional doctors. For instance, according to his charts and graphs 32:58 he is showing that a person who has A1C of 7.0 or below he called it controlled. Most professionals called 5.5 of A1C or below is controlled. Second, most professionals recommend low carb diet with a lot of veggies and moderate amount of protein and fat including olives and olive oil for a better health. Third, most expertise said that the reason the cell won't take that extra glucose into the cell is that b.c of the sugar inside the cell turned into fat after sitting there for a while if it is not burned, not b.c of the animal fat. Sorry to say this but his lecture as many flaws and errors.
I A1C dropped from 10.6 to 6.2 within one year. Only stopped eating processed foods. Eat plenty of meat including bacon. Now two years since my diagnosis and my A1C is 5.9.
I was recently diagnosed with diabetes type 2 with a very high A1C. After purchasing a glucose monitor and much research, I discovered that meat does not raise my blood sugar. However, if I eat any grain products such as bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes and sweets my blood glucose goes up significantly. I have been following this way of eating now for a little over a month and feel so much better. I have not gained any weight at all. I wished like Dr. Barnard says that I could eat all the carbs that I wanted which is what I was doing when I was diagnosed but for me it unequivocally does not work.
This does not tell the whole story. Glucose and carbohydrate rich foods are a threat to T2 diabetics. How do I know? I’m a T2D, and a vegetarian / vegan. I din’t have meds, but I monitor my blood sugar. If i eat carb-rich foods I spike. On a normal vegan diet I struggle to keep my bloods within the advised range. If I eat vegan-based carb rich foods my HbA1c rises above the comfort zone. I say to T2D’s ignore carb intake at your peril. Monitor your blood sugars with an inexpensive BG meter, keep a record of your results and a diary of what you eat. In that way you will have a rational way of knowing what to eat.
Ppl like you get ignored by macdougal. Under the diet prescribed by this guy, you can still be low carb, furhman prescribes low carb vegan if one notices the details
I hate the fact that these doctors everywhere in you tube can’t even agree on what’s best for diabetes. One says low fat another one says high fat, one says low carbs others say high carbs is the best. How are people going to eat to reverse or improve diabetes if doctors can’t even agree on what foods are best? This is all so damn confusing 😑
Dr. Barnard is telling you the absolute truth, and I am living proof. I'm a long time Vegan , but it wasn't until I studied Dr. Barnard's, Dr. Esselstyn, Dr. Klaper, and PHD T. Colin Campbell's works that I realized I needed to quit salt, oil, and sugar. I was living on mostly Korean food minus the meat. Then on 7-1-17 I quit Korean food which I loved after 42 yrs. of eating it, Korean food is full of s., o., and s.. After 10 week I quit I quit 5 meds., 2 were for blood pressure, 1 was a Statin for my Cholesterol, and in just 10 wks. I lost 17 pounds, and my Arthritis. My blood pressure was great, and then in Nov., I checked my LDL, and it was 61. My primary was totally baffled by all this, and I told him if he had overweight people with high blood pressure here's the answer, and he says no one's going to eat like that, and besides our Mothers taught us how to get our nutrition. Just eat your eat, and drinks you milk. I gave him 3 DVD's from the above Docs., and him being 71 refused to watch them. Sadly this is the mindset of so many Doctors. They're totally in the dark about nutrition, what's good and bad for your body. These are the people that are suppose to be getting us better, and all they're really good for is writing you a prescription for some poison. I don't trust the average Doc. they just don't really know what's going on. Dr. Barnard tells you how to handle you Diabetes in this vid., and this is nowhere even close to what the average Doc. will tell you. Without that prescription pad they're lost, they're all stuck in that old mindset the way they were trained, and they don't want to hear anything else. I'm 70 yrs. old, and have had two failed back surgeries and because of my back I can't exorcise. So last wk. I went to a urologist, and he didn't know anything about me. He tells me to take off my shirt and drop my pants down to my knees, he then looks at my body and right away he says, oh you work out? Most people think this, and the truth is when your eating a Vegan diet without s., o., and s., you'll find that all those hrs. in the gym aren't necessary, sure exercise is good for you, but you don't need all those hrs. of exercise to look and feel good. I don't normally even comment, but I felt like I needed to tell my story, and let you know everything these above Docs. including Dr. Barnard is saying is so true. These men are my heros, and for good reason, thank goodness for these Docs. mentioned above.
I know someone who stopped eating salt and he went out and he got confused and dizzy. He thought it was healthy not to have salt. That’s not true. Even animals get a salt lick. Every animal needs it and so do humans.
Jason Argonaut because the indians love their oil and due to cheap imports of bad oils they all started getting diabetes and eating very sweet refined sugared foods didnt help either
You are absolutely right. Diabetes was called sugar diabetes fifty years ago and it's been forgotten since it has been changed to D2. Even Neils first picture of the Mac food was 70% carbs, the bun, the potato chips. All vegans blame the meat, they have nothing else to blame. He has five or six doctors that back him and they're all American, all belong the Seventh Day Adventist Church which is vegan and have a lot of money in vegan foods so they like their people to make them a lot of money. There are hundreds of doctors that can put diabetes into remission on a fat and meat and vegetable diet so that proves this doctor wrong or a blatant liar.
@@toni4729 Any sources to back up your claims? 5 or 6 doctors to back him up? There are hundreds of plant based doctors. Seventh Day Adventist Church? That's a new one. Where did you pull that out of ? The fact that eating wfpb can reverse type 2 is out there as well, so does that make those other doctors blatant liars as well?
Where do you think the cows and animals get b12. From added feed and plants. We used to be able to get b12 from soil but the soil is depleted for humans.

yes a balanced whole food plant based diet is good for very thin people. I actually gained weight on it--my diet was very set while I was working at Wiemar Institute and eating in their dining hall for all my meals--a whole plant food diet with no fractionated(overly processed) foods or free oils. I gained 14 pounds in the first four and a half months and then my weight stabilized for the rest of the year. I was too thin before and became a healthy weight during my tenure there. I was exercising before , during and after working for the institute--so that was not a factor. My weight has stayed approximately the same since then-almost 20 years later. Every time I go to see my physician and have blood work done, he laughs a bit as he says I always have "perfect" numbers. My genetic family background is full of diabetes, strokes, cancer, heart bypass surgeries, etc. Some family members have been very thin and some overweight, but lifestyle and dietary wise they triggered genes and biological processes that made them disease prone.

Just a correction: the doctor is promoting a plant based diet, not vegan. Veganism is a lifestyle that excludes animal products, and may include things like fries, olive oil, veggie burgers and oreos. Plant based is the diet based on vegetables, fruits, legumes etc. A vegan person may follow a plant based diet or not.
I have noticed that my dog needs more and more shots and is experiencing almost the same diseases as humans. I had a dog on insulin and was diabetic. Cancer in my mini horses. Why do the Paleo diet and Keto diet people say fat is good fuel. I thought optimal fuel for our bodies is glucose. Fat is reserve fuel but not first stage fuel right?
Martin, Study ketogenic approach. You starve your self of all sugar until your body is forced to switch over to fat burning as a source of energy. Stay in this state for one in four weeks. Google on ketogenic diet
they reduce carbs, they claim body enters ketosis statevand burns fat. they mostly eat fat, body hasvto burn fat. ketones are used in said process. they claim, if you eat carbs, stored fat doesnt burn. in vid, this is disputed,
I manly eat a plant based diet. But Pizza has always been my go to comfort food. It's one of the few foods I turely enjoy. Except being slightly overweigt, I was physically healthy overall. So after eating plant based for a while lost alot of weight. I decided I just had to have some comfort food once in a while. If I eat a plant based diet and then have a cheat day of Pizza every two weeks or less. And if Pizza is the only meal I eat that day. I can manage that. My body will rid of it pretty quickly if I follow a plant based diet most of the time. I just can't say goodbye to Pizza for good. And Pizza with no cheese, just isn't Pizza. And Vegan cheese is not really available here. And you can't really order any Vegan Pizza either. Very rare where I live.

In regards to type 2 diabetes, you said “if you get to them soon enough” you can reverse the disease. Is there a point in type 2 diabetes when it is not reversible?
@@magdaarchbold4878 It’s possible :)! there is a film here on RUclips and online called „Simply Raw Diabieties Reversal” where they actually managed to reverse both type 1 and t2 people
This issue is so complicated! Eating lots of animal protein can lead to increased cholesterol and possibly increased risks for heart disease and colon cancer. Now according to Dr. Bernard you can add diabetes to the list. I don't know if having high blood glucose is the cause or result of pre-diabetes, but because I have diabetes in my family, I went out and bought a glucometer. What I've found it that carbs are all treated the same in my body. It doesn't matter if it's steel cut oat meal, whole wheat bread, fruit or ice cream...The timing may be different depending on the glycemic index but the glycemic load appears to be the same, and my glucose skyrockets for the steel cut oats just as much as (maybe just 10 points less actually) it would for a bowl of Corn Pops! Fruits have many phytonutrients, vitamins and fiber, but when it comes to blood glucose they are extremely dangerous. Chronically elevated insulin levels are extremely dangerous as well (leads to inflammation and may be carcinogenic), so smoothies are out for me. I eat a tone of green veggies, but I still need a source of calories because I find that I'm loosing way too much weight. I may start to include salmon and sardines, despite the issues with the animal proteins and heavy metals. I'm not really sure what else to do...I have really low cholesterol levels so the blood sugar is really my main concern at the moment....and cancer I guess. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. I've been eating mostly a plant based diet (fruits and veggies) and it hasn't decreased my glucose results. I think it was mainly the fruits and starchy vegetables. I once fasted and exercised (walk/run) from morning until about 2pm and still my numbers were elevated. I'm doomed...considering Metformin. It has effects on the Sirtuin pathway and may work in the same was as Resveratrol to promote longevity. Who knows????
try a vegan low carb version. his diet and doctor furhmans allow tbis. ignore macdougall who wants you to get full on starch. You can be low carb vegan, if low carbs work.
I have a lot of time for Dr Barnard but one thing I'm just not getting here is that the graph shown at 3:47 shows the fat intake was rising from 1955 to 1975 but had already levelled off by the 1980's. So I don't get how that can be tied to a pre-post 1980 level of diabetes. Am I missing something?
There are other doctors/medical researchers on RUclips that claim the opposite. They say don't eat any carbs, just eat protein and fats to reverse diabetes. Personally, I don't know how one avoids all or most carbs, but that's their recommendation. At the same time, I can't imagine not having any animal products for the rest of my life, either. I think the optimum diet is somewhere in between, at least for most people. After all, those that eat a Mediterranean diet seem to live pretty healthy lives.
Well, of course! Mediterranean diet is rich in plant foods. Do you love animals? Do you have pets? Would you eat them? Think about this and maybe you can stop contributing to animals deaths.
every doctor nutritionist and those in between have never talked or commented on kefir and yet people in the Caucasus area have been using this as medicine maybe they do not know about it

Why is it in a video Dr. Greger describes how over thousands of people over many studies points out there was no differences in deaths from the major killers between vegetarians and meat eaters. Why is it that your data comes up with different conclusions? Who's data is correct? Or does it just depend on who is manipulating the data? Obviously one conclusion has to be wrong. Correlation does not prove causation. The rate of bottled water went during that same time. Perhaps it is the intake of plastic for instance. You guys have thoroughly confused this new vegetarian. Help me out here.
In his speech over this subject, Dr. Greger went on to say that after many studies, it's the ratio between Omega 3 and Omega 6... and you must up the Omega 3 ratio... hence, so get some whole flax seeds, grind them up and take 2 or 3 teaspoons of the ground seeds a day to stabilize the ration. Great lecture on uTube.
Every positive change will help, but 100% is optimal. Think about it in regards to cigarette smoking. Would you keep smoking on the weekend (and eventually it will extend into the week) or quit all together?

Also, Dr. Campbell and Dr. Esselstyn. If you have Netflix, you should watch "Forks Over Knives"

A lot of ppl get sick on that.
@@chrisnamaste3572 well thats not true. We have used ghee for THOUSANDS of years. We just recently introduced western food and

Thank you for doing this. I learned alot!
I can't understand how so many people can fall for this bullshit. You hear and see and still you learn nothig.
Great and interesting presentation. I'll follow this diet plan.
PS Vegans get plenty of good fat from nuts and seeds, olives and avocados, if they require it
Fruit has lots of sugar and raises my blood sugar.
LF. That is not what this doc is saying.
There is no one size fit all. Glad you found what worked for you.

Always love his presentations easy to understand and my reason for being vegan thank you so much Dr Neal Barnard!
I had a patient who was advised his type 1 diabetes had progressed to
type 2 diabetes. He was told that he would need insulin injections for the rest
of his life and from a dental perspective, facing a lower success rate of
implant surgery. Being needle phobic, he was naturally terrified. After hearing
about his dilemma, I shared the effects a whole-food, plant-based diet could
have the on prevention and treatment of this chronic disease. 18 months later,
he is 20kg lighter with his liver, thyroid and kidney functions healthy too.
His blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol have also stabilised. It
was amazing to see one of my patients come off their medications, having
reversed his type 2 diabetes. His GP was also amazed having witnessed how
a plant-based diet became a powerful tool in managing and reversing his type
2 diabetes - despite being convinced it was a life sentence.
You don't go from 1 to 2. You have things reversed.
The best Doctor I have ever seen
Did you try a glucose challenge?
If you're all good, why are you here watching this video?

Great talk I will share this and we need more of you Dr Barnard
I hate the fact that these doctors everywhere in you tube can’t even agree on what’s best for diabetes. One says low fat another one says high fat, one says low carbs others say high carbs is the best. How are people going to eat to reverse or improve diabetes if doctors can’t even agree on what foods are best? This is all so damn confusing 😑
You are bang on. Its all so confusing.
Sorry that your husband not seeing the light as you did
I know someone who stopped eating salt and he went out and he got confused and dizzy. He thought it was healthy not to have salt. That’s not true. Even animals get a salt lick. Every animal needs it and so do humans.
If carbs and rice do not cause diabetes, how would you explain the high number of diabetic cases in the Indian sub continent?
Jason Argonaut because the indians love their oil and due to cheap imports of bad oils they all started getting diabetes and eating very sweet refined sugared foods didnt help either
Oil
The fact that eating wfpb can reverse type 2 is out there as well, so does that make those other doctors blatant liars as well?

can i segest a whole food plant based low fat diet to a very very slim person?
any difference in fat intake? could it even have a positive (weight gain) effect on weight because of the metabolism change?
yes a balanced whole food plant based diet is good for very thin people.

Dr.Neal Bernard thank u so much for such a great presentation. LoVe u alottt❤💙💜💛💚💖💝💟💞💗👍👌👏
The religion of veganism... Prophet Barnard preaching.
I absolutely love him he has an awesome personality
Thats love Trinity
Sugar is also from plant (sugarcane). Why you did not include this stuff
Why after 4 yrs on a vegan diet and then moving to a almost no fat vegan diet would my sugar go haywire. My red blood cells were high too.
This is awesome.
Hello, I'm curious about what is considered Pre Diabetes and what is considered actual Type 2 Diabetes? What would an A1C of 6.6 indicate?
If you're curious you've googled your question, right? The answer is at your fingertips!
Why the video at the time of 19.42 gone to silent?
Is apple cidar vinegar bad for health? Please have your views
It's good, just don't drink it straight
It help lower the glucose, I table to 8once of water
very good. Thank you very much . Its very helpfull.مننه
I’m so grateful
For some reason, people don't believe there is a difference between vegetable oils and mammal fats. I call Vegan, the Biblical Diet.
I have noticed that my dog needs more and more shots and is experiencing almost the same diseases as humans. I had a dog on insulin and was diabetic. Cancer in my mini horses. Tartar and bad breath in my dog and feline leukemia in the wild barn cats. I think the animals .. the animals we are directly responsible for feeding, should go on a plant based diet.
Are u married?
@@jontyrhodes4155 No. My husband had an insulin and cancer problem. Seems like people in this rural community have had dementia problems and then that spreads to other diseases. Or, maybe it's just life....I tried to research the water well system but our aquifer is one of the cleanest and nothing stands out. Is it the dog food? Maybe its a combination of everything...
@@sandratraweek7425 sorry
Why do the Paleo diet and Keto diet people say fat is good fuel. I thought optimal fuel for our bodies is glucose. Fat is reserve fuel but not first stage fuel right?
Martin, Study ketogenic approach. You starve your self of all sugar until your body is forced to switch over to fat burning as a source of energy. Stay in this state for one in four weeks. Google on ketogenic diet
Agreed!
they reduce carbs, they claim body enters ketosis statevand burns fat. they mostly eat fat, body hasvto burn fat. ketones are used in said process. they claim, if you eat carbs, stored fat doesnt burn. in vid, this is disputed,
I manly eat a plant based diet.
Dr. Bernard, can you eat. Eggs. On this. Plant. Base. Diet. Please. Let me know.
How to get in touch with Neal. I’m want to pay for his services
Carnivore/Keto- best shape of my life ! Not skinny fat like most of plant eaters .
Someone who has seen the light. Well done.
It should be whole food plant based, not just vegan diet.
Replace rice with Millets ( soak the millet for 2 hours before cooking)
Boiled vegetables
Legumes
No processed foods - sugar, rice, cookies, fries etc.
In regards to type 2 diabetes, you said “if you get to them soon enough” you can reverse the disease. Is there a point in type 2 diabetes when it is not reversible?
I think they say type 1 cant reverse
The type of fat changed
Think about this and maybe you can stop contributing to animals deaths.
every doctor nutritionist and those in between have never talked or commented on kefir and yet people in the Caucasus area have been using this as medicine maybe they do not know about it
Tell us more.
First thing I noticed was joint paint gone,
Eating 24/7 prevents use of fat energy.
It is quite confusing
It's simple, really. 1. Eliminate animal products. 2. Keep oils low. 3. Eat low glycemic carbs.
@@hakeemshabazz3207 I feel so sorry for anyone who follows this sort of diet. The brain is two thirds fat and one third cholesterol. None can be got from a vegetable. Goobye brain.
Dr Bernard. Please disclose your sources of funding. Do you have any association with the sugar-based industries?
When did you hear him recommend sugar?
So what diet for fatty liver and fatty pancreas? Carbs or low carb ?
DankBudwoi low carb that's for sure!
plant based diet! Essentially a high carb diet of fruits, veggies, whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds.
low free fructose from saccarose and fruit juice
Laine you do realize you get a lot of carbs from vegetables, don't you?
Nobrefined sugar. Fructose is the problem but it ok if wrapped in fibre aka fruit. Fructose causes fatty liver.
But for how many years with it? My wife has had it for 26 years on insulin and neuropathy.
think this is one of Dr Barnards finest 😍
A friend he is 70 year old and he got a type 2 diabetes and h would like to know does it costs you to lose interest of get full attention of o focus on thing. He is having a better hard time. He is sorry he going to forget everything. He repair vintage stereos and he was very good at that. Now he is having a hard time focus on the stereos and get very tired. Sometime he have trouble sleeping. Do you think you can help him and give him advice. Thank you.
Sharon Brand
when you say No Olive oils ( or Low) can we eat Olives
Yes, you can eat the whole food, just avoid the isolated oil.
Can I practice a vegan diet Monday through Friday and still see some results?
Every positive change will help, but 100% is optimal. Think about it in regards to cigarette smoking. Would you keep smoking on the weekend (and eventually it will extend into the week) or quit all together?
Since i started plant based i feel good in my body but am urinating too often esp at night is it normal?
excellent. excellent doc. i am amazed. your lecture is more inspirational than the management gurus. you are cool. great man, shall follow you till last day of my life.
Thanks Dr. Barnard for your nice presentation this is the first time I watch your video and thank you I learn a lot that I never knew before from now on I will follow your instruction I will try everything of what you said no crbs and no animal fats and cheese a d so on
