Someone came onto our property last night and stole some patio chairs of all things. We felt pretty violated by that as we've considered this a very trustworthy area. So my weekend chore is to find a really solid system to put in place. This looks like a good place to start.
Never showed the setup process... Ok! Cool 😎 just got mine in and installed damn sweet system, worse part of the job was being 6'1 255lbs bodybuilder and crawling around in the attic. Military style workout. 💯👍👍👍 Thanks!
Installed it myself without any issues. The wifi signal is great even ruclips.net/user/postUgkxE_D_sddGAdiVUKp7PkkmyxO7bRtgqmk5 when the router is located far away. I really enjoy the night vision feature that allows me to see clearly any activity near our house (mostly cars and wild animals). The motion detection is helpful to me as well to monitor what happens on our front.
I used the siren/lights function awhile ago to scare away some punks that were up to no good on my neighbors property. They had left before and when they returned, I turned them on and they immediately drove off. Wish I had the new NVR type system. I have 16 cameras and a 32 inch 4K monitor. Also added a wireless mouse. Only issues I’ve had is the recordings skip a bit sometimes on playback.
Brought this system with the spotlight and red and blue lights seven months ago....out of six cameras, four of the spotlights have burned out! Tried to get them replaced under warranty but Swann customer service will give you a total run around to replace them. Company has a RUclips channel but the comments are turned off, guess they don't want to see all the complaints. Just a heads up.
Nice and simple review, I like the options that the system offers and looks amazing on the activation side of things. TV, Phone, Tablet is really handy and understood the lag times as your relying on other people’s internet connection if on holiday or if using portable data and surroundings that may be trees & hills that can slow you down. Great for the foreseeable future usage. Looking for my sons family and like the options of the two main smart home systems ( Google Alexa )
my street light at my road lets my Enforcer see color night vision all the way down the road- like 3 houses down. so my entire front yard, neighbors yards, and road is color at night.
Great review and made my purchase more easy to make. Not sure if anyone answered this but PTZ on the DVR is a Pan-Tilt-Zoom port for cameras that can be tilted and zoomed remotely. Not sure if Swann has a camera that supports PTZ but I'd imagine they do.

I am frustrated that they do not have microphones included (the 5580 box I got doesn’t have either) and looking at the details on outside of boxes it does not tell us no audio equipment included 🙄 And looking at all the audio ports it shows us, we all think we r buying a kit with audio equipment, but no it’s just the ‘capabilities’. Why don’t they? $20 camera have audio in em!!

Not sure if I missed it. But when you turn on the siren for the camera you're viewing does it turn them all on at once or only the one you're currently viewing?
Questions: 1. Can you replace the HDD to larger? 2. Can you lower resolution but increase FPS (it looks like you can). 3. What is the maximum distance cameras can be installed away from main unit?
Really you are better with higher resolution and slower frame rate. Might not look so natural on playback, but on freeze frame you can zoom in for facial recognition etc.
Cat5e & Cat 6 cables can be run 100m I think about 30m is what comes in the kit. I'm about to install today. Set up account & tested last night as it says to test the unit prior to installation. I'm not very tech savvy but only took 20 mins to set up.

Does an Arlo ultra a better option for me for easy installation?

With the google assistant capability, are you able to say things like" hey google, show me my front porch camera" and it will show it on your google home display?
Can always set up an old phone to record while gone if something does happen and or a small recording device. I do that with my old cell phones now and am able to hear my house being broke into daily. They try to lock back up like they weren’t there but when they steal stuff so many times there is no denying it.
Is the following possible. I'm trying to setup on the phone that when you have modes home or night selected and you have siren enable it will no go off. I only want siren to go off when away is selected. It doesn't make sense to setup time because you really don't know when you leave the house. If possible please let me know how to setup it up. Man I love the quality when it works, but the connectivity on Swann Cameras are $h1t. Every time I try to open the camera app it and it’s not good for instant viewing, sometimes it will take up to 5 tries before the video will show. It’s good but not worth the money spent. And I love how Swann knows this hence why the comment section in their videos are turned off.
@@520mdelong over a grand, but In hindsight the quality is good for catching license plates. And I still have to add microphones to it, because it’s only video.
It appears no one seemed to actually watch and LISTEN to this video... THEY DO NOT HAVE SOUND!!! If you can't even watch this video clearly and understand it... Then a security camera system may not be fit for you.........
I had great service from them. Couldn't pair the camera. Called the customer service number. Was on the phone for nearly 20 min. Problem was not resolved but they said a specialist would call back. 2 has later got the phone call. Was walked through the trouble shooting process and was sorted within 10 min.
Swann has the worst service ever!!! Foreign voices eventually respond with very little useful information! A simple password reset turned into a four hour disaster! They said if I chose to have a callback in 9 minutes they would call. The call eventually came over an hour later, and only from a customer service rep who couldn’t help me. I eventually decided to return the system altogether and look at another system. Swann is a Chinese company out of California that exports almost all calls to people who barely speak English. Never again!!!
Hello! I'm thinking about buying these cameras, but I would like to know if there's possible to get longer cables for the cameras. I need at least 50 mts cables for each camera :(
I had a Arlo set up thought I was up grading when it bought this system and I've regretted ever minute of having changed over to Swann for more than a couple reasons the biggest reason being they dont include a owners manual but they want you to refer to then web page or to print it out your self, sure paper and ink cost then but I reason its way cheaper for them to do it and just include it in the box than it is for me to do.😡😡😡😡 second reason is when it got alerts from arlo I could always view the video not matter where I was NOT SO with Swann. Just a smaller added note the notifactions will blow your phone up even if you choose the option to ignore them and all that agrarvation for nothing considering you cant view a thing unless you're at home
Hi, Thought your video was brilliant and very informative. I have just purchased the Swann 6 camera enforcer and it’s awesome. But I’m having a few minor problems with the settings. 1/ can’t get the time to set properly, I set the hour and the next day it goes back an hour. 2/ How to set the lights to come on when motion is detected instead of coming on as soon as it goes dark outside and staying on all night. 3/ I can’t set the system up on my computer monitor, it won’t recognise any IP address I put in, so have to use a small television monitor. I would be in your debt if you could give me some info on what I’m doing wrong. I really hope you can help as no matter where I look, I cannot find the answers anywhere. I got a top computer company around and they could not get this system to work on my computer, they said, “ something in windows 10 was blocking it from being able to load onto my computer “ So I now need to purchase a separate monitor, which is not what I wanted. The time will still not set correctly, The night lights come on so it records in colour during the dark hours on all the cameras, except one of them, can’t work out why, when all camera settings are the same. I phoned Swann, left message for a call back while the computer man was here, so he could speak to them, they called me back two days later. The info supplied with the system needs an expert to understand. I now wish I had purchased a different system from another supplier. HELP. Is all I can say.

I figured it out FINALLY after almost ripping the cameras off my house lol so the "Smart LED" comes on when you have it on either B/W or Ext. If it's on color for some reason the smart LED option didn't pop up nor does the light. If you have it on B/W or Ext when you hit return and go back to the first page you will see a new row underneath day/night saying Smart LED.. go into there and turn the dimmer to 0 and it will shut those annoying lights off. Now sometimes I will get these 2 blue lights that are constantly on only 1 channel/camera and I still haven't figured out why or how to stop that... Just make sure to turn the dimmer to 0 if you have the smart LED option. Hope that helps

Can someone help, I just upgraded my android phone to iPhone and the Swann enforcement app doesn’t work on my iPhone. I get the notifications but no live view or recorded video.
So laggy and choppy. I have a 8 channel Swann now. Good for day time but Night time sucks! Phone app literally takes up to 5 mins just to connect, that's IF it connects at all. Looking to upgrade and definitely NOT going with Swann again.
Just bought this system but I'm very disappointed with the "4k" my cheap blink cam has way better resolution. Especially at night. This one looks grainy and color night is the worse. The blink looks amazing at night with enough lighting makes the night color looks good this expensive system not so much.
My old Swann had a touring option so I could have 4 pics on each screen and it would go from one to the next note I have this enforcer and can’t get it to do that is this not offered on the new one?

Hey I have this same system but I have a question. Is it possible to enable constant recording. I have a camera pointed at a cash register which I would like go be recorded continously instead of only thru motion detection
I would rate it at a 7ish maybe. Never really had a whole system before other than a Cobra system from harbor freight but only had a system all together for about a month now. I had a couple nest cams once and honestly I prefer those. I don't like that I'm unable to connect to my wireless data, I can't remote view unless I have a internet provider come and install internet with LAN or something like that. Can't even connect with wifi or my hotspot. Everything in my house is connected to my hotspot. Pay good money for that thing. Still don't understand why I can't remote view the system on the app. Irritates my soul. Also, my nest cam was wifi capable and I viewed it from my phone and had 2 way audio. I could talk to my animals, scared my neighbors, make people think there was a spirit lurking lol. My cobra system that was cheap had audio that I could hear while watching the cameras off the tv but not 2 way audio. I couldn't set them up with wifi or remote view them either. Apparently I need to just get 4 wireless wifi capable indoor outdoor cameras with no DVR and I'd be more happy. Least that way I can save the recordings to the cloud, and see what was going on while I wasn't home. The enforcers picture is great tho and you can zoom forever. The PIR is sketchy tho because alot of times it will catch a squirrel but not a person walking down my alley? Who knows

I have 3 installed 2 in front of my house and 1 at back ive tried to disable the lights at the front because you can see them from a distance but they will not turn off
To turn them off or even dim you click on any current running camera . Options come up click PTZ. Then another options appear OSD” PTZ” PRESET you need the “OSD” you will see arrows up down left etc. Click the middle . Another menu pops up use the arrows to navigate up down and select smart led . From there you can turn off and dim up to 3 settings .make sure you save&exit after you turn them off
Reading the comments it seems their customer service is crap. I'm looking for a bit of relief in this area. Which company has a great system and some effective customer service?

I have a big home, I don't want wires everywhere, does this brand have a system with wifi cameras? (Not totally wireless, i can run the power source wires inside windows but i want wifi video feed to the system itself)
Big question for everybody how do you turn on the audio for these cameras or is there no audio. I’m playing back the videos and I can’t seem to turn on the audio or hear anything?
@Street Hunter I got the pro nvr system. The settings are a bit complicated. I used grid for PIR but for AI I haven't been able to set it up properly. There's alot of functions and settings I still really don't understand or know how to configure them properly, also zoom only changes to fullscreen when zooming in. So yeah I know it'll be great when it's all done properly.

It only activates one at a time. I emailed Swann with a suggestion of being able to activate all of the alarms at once as a panic button feature.

RS485 is for pan tilt zoom controller.

Not that I'm aware of, you could try to disable the speaker inside but that would be kind of tricky.

Just make sure to turn the dimmer to 0 if you have the smart LED option. Hope that helps

Can someone help, I just upgraded my android phone to iPhone and the Swann enforcement app doesn’t work on my iPhone. I get the notifications but no live view or recorded video.
So laggy and choppy. I have a 8 channel Swann now. Good for day time but Night time sucks! Phone app literally takes up to 5 mins just to connect, that's IF it connects at all. Looking to upgrade and definitely NOT going with Swann again.
I was wondering why the app wouldn’t connect when I was doing everything right! I thought it was because the cameras weren’t wireless.
Just bought this system but I'm very disappointed with the "4k" my cheap blink cam has way better resolution. Especially at night. This one looks grainy and color night is the worse. The blink looks amazing at night with enough lighting makes the night color looks good this expensive system not so much.

My old Swann had a touring option so I could have 4 pics on each screen and it would go from one to the next note I have this enforcer and can’t get it to do that is this not offered on the new one?

I disagree with Frederick I have the same system an had nothing but great things to say about it. I would rate this a solid 9/10
I would rate it at a 7ish maybe. Never really had a whole system before other than a Cobra system from harbor freight but only had a system all together for about a month now. I had a couple nest cams once and honestly I prefer those. I don't like that I'm unable to connect to my wireless data, I can't remote view unless I have a internet provider come and install internet with LAN or something like that. Can't even connect with wifi or my hotspot. Everything in my house is connected to my hotspot. Pay good money for that thing. Still don't understand why I can't remote view the system on the app. Irritates my soul. Also, my nest cam was wifi capable and I viewed it from my phone and had 2 way audio. I could talk to my animals, scared my neighbors, make people think there was a spirit lurking lol. My cobra system that was cheap had audio that I could hear while watching the cameras off the tv but not 2 way audio. I couldn't set them up with wifi or remote view them either. Apparently I need to just get 4 wireless wifi capable indoor outdoor cameras with no DVR and I'd be more happy. Least that way I can save the recordings to the cloud, and see what was going on while I wasn't home. The enforcers picture is great tho and you can zoom forever. The PIR is sketchy tho because alot of times it will catch a squirrel but not a person walking down my alley? Who knows

To turn them off or even dim you click on any current running camera . Options come up click PTZ. Then another options appear OSD” PTZ” PRESET you need the “OSD” you will see arrows up down left etc. Click the middle . Another menu pops up use the arrows to navigate up down and select smart led . From there you can turn off and dim up to 3 settings .make sure you save&exit after you turn them off

you can set the light for the time you wish it to stay on
so I was having the same issue with the lights staying on .. I figured it out FINALLY after almost ripping the cameras off my house lol so the "Smart LED" comes on when you have it on either B/W or Ext. If it's on color for some reason the smart LED option didn't pop up nor does the light. If you have it on B/W or Ext when you hit return and go back to the first page you will see a new row underneath day/night saying Smart LED.. go into there and turn the dimmer to 0 and it will shut those annoying lights off. Now sometimes I will get these 2 blue lights that are constantly on only 1 channel/camera and I still haven't figured out why or how to stop that... Just make sure to turn the dimmer to 0 if you have the smart LED option. Hope that helps

@Street Hunter I got the pro nvr system. The settings are a bit complicated. I used grid for PIR but for AI I haven't been able to set it up properly.
There's alot of functions and settings I still really don't understand or know how to configure them properly, also zoom only changes to fullscreen when zooming in.
So yeah I know it'll be great when it's all done properly.

No this isn't possible, have a look into the Powerline Ethernet adaptors, these will achieve the same result
