Will it ignore animals and can it differentiate between the delivery guy and a tweaker? Can you choose which camera’s to have the alarms activated on? And also, what’s the difference between this video quality and the 4K quality? I’m debating spending over a thousand dollars on the 4K with alarms, or whether it’s just as good to get the ones without for half the price.
Hi Queen of Swords. Motion detection on each camera is triggered when the PIR sensor detects a warm moving object AND there is pixel movement detected within the image. This means that larger mammals such as cats and dogs may trigger the motion detection, as will humans and vehicles, because they are all warm bodied objects. Some of Swann's systems include extra analytics such as person detection, or even face recognition. You can set the alarms at a camera level via the DVR, meaning that you can choose which cameras trigger lights & sirens or not.
Hi Meredith. On the most recent DVR firmware you can now adjust the settings for each of these features as separate entities, meaning you can have lights with or without siren. Previously the Red/Blue Lights & Siren were tied together under one Enforcer control, but now they have been split out. Please note that only the 4K DVR cameras have a Siren, the 1080p ones do not.
Hello, hope you are doing well. thank you for your video. I bought the pro enforcer with the same DVR unit and mouse you have. The question I have is if we are able to set the cameras to automatically turn its built-in LED light on when motion is detected? I have tried going into the video setting and enable the light. But after I closed the browser, it became disabled again. Are we required to set the schedule first before the light and the alarm function to work? Also, does it matter to what device we use to go and set these (light and alarm) setting? I am able to access and view the camera functions on my cell phone in addition to the app on my laptop. However, they are wifi connected (not directly connected by wire) to the main DVR unit. My main DVR unit is in my basement where all the ethernet wires meet. Thank you for your advice.

Hi Dylan. Yes, this is possible. When you're on the Live View screen in the Swann Security app, there will be a series of control icons appear. Tapping on the Lightbulb icon turns the white spotlight on or off, whilst tapping on the Siren icon turns the Enforcer feature on/off. The Enforcer feature includes the Red/Blue lights, AND the siren if you have a 4K Camera (The 1080p camera does not have a siren).
Is it true u can't set difrent light functions for multiple cameras for instance u want to turn on one set of flashing lights from ur fone but this will trigger all of them to go on
What is the PTZ Port utilized for on the back of the swine camera security system ? there's almost no mention for it , I found some reference about a PTZ camera that's about it .
It’s for a different type of camera that u have to buy separately (PTZ: Pan-Tilt-Zoom) Note I’m sure u figured it out by now, but just in case it others read ur query n wonder.
G’day! I noticed in your Vivo Y52 5G video that you had what looks like Poco or Realme phone boxes in the background. If so, how’d you get them in Australia? Glad to see an Australian Tech reviewer as well. You earned a sub!
After installing my new 8 channel enforcer swan system, everything works fine apart from the app. Glitching between cameras in playback is basically unwatchable, live view works good, However the playback footage on the main system works fine. Definitely an issue that swan needs to sort out
I got this camera system just to be able to watch the live feed on my phone. It worked fine for 2 or 3 months then started having problems with the IOS app. I regret ever buying Swann, the system requires a password every 5 minutes, no live feed of IOS due to a major glitch, and the system reboots too often. I work away from home and I need something that I can watch on my phone.
I see a lot of hard wire there with that being said do you still need Wi-Fi or any kind of cable or something to hook it up or can it just be directly hardwire into your module
Hi Richard. If you'd like to view your system remotely from the Swann Security App, then you will need to connect the DVR box to your router to give it an internet connection. You can do this with the included network cable, or Swann also sell a USB Wi-Fi Antenna if you want to store the DVR further away. If you don't want to view your system remotely and are happy with just a closed system which you view in your home only, then the DVR doesn't need connecting to the internet. In this case you would just have to view it via a monitor connected to the DVR box.
Hi Ninja. This one is a DVR system so the cables are coaxial with BNC connectors on each end. Swann also sell NVR systems which use network cables between the recorder and cameras instead which might be what you're after. NVR systems tend to be a bit more expensive, but offer more features and better quality, alongside easier wiring.
I would recommend checking that your settings are enabled so that the white spotlight turns on from a motion event. The white light will generate enough light to deliver you a colour image at night time.
Hi @@mlm398 - Swann's more premium NVR systems feature microphones on every camera, and some of them also include a speaker for 2-way audio. On DVR cameras, they have just launched DVR cameras with microphones for the first time, the models are called PRO-1080MQB or PRO-4KMQB. Up until this year it has been very difficult to deliver audio over the coax cables of a DVR system. A technology upgrade is now allowing this.
Swann's DVR & NVR systems ship with 18metre (60ft) cables for each camera. If you require longer lengths they also sell accessory cables in either 15metre, 30metre, or 60metre lengths. You can connect cables together or simply replace a kit cable with a longer version purchased separately.
Hi Adelin. No, this one is a DVR system and as such does not offer 2-way audio. 2-way audio is currently only offered on some of Swann's higher end NVR cameras as it is difficult to achieve via the coax cables on a DVR. This may change over time as technology changes to allow such a feature.
Hi bigped. Swann sell a few different systems and whilst the cameras may look similar, they are not necessarily equal. On DVR systems, the 1080p cameras do not have any sirens, but the 4K ones do. If your cameras have Red & Blue enforcer lights, they can be setup via the DVRs menu.
You make the review of anything so smooth!
Very informative video as always Mate.
Costco $279 Full System w/ 8 cams really good for the money Great video dubs!
How’s the app? I keep seeing the app is very glitchy
I bought mine at Costco, looking at his video the quality looks really good. Why mine look horrible?
Value here when you look at the complete package and extras.

Thanks mate. Appreciated. Just bought one today. I’ll try let Swann know i saw it here 👌🏼

You didn't explain how it all fits together. Does every camera have a power brick? Does it have to be on the internet?
Good review, I'm going to buy one of these kits to replace my old one.
The image quality looks really good
Great tips as well 👍

Hows your audio? I just got the 8 camera version and the audio on each camera works, but VERY bad static.
Do these cameras zoom to read license plates on the street?
depends how far away they are and also the size of the number plate
Hii, what about the audio? I really need a video for configured the audio.
Are u still happy with the system?
thanks for the helpful video. Can you activate the red and blue lights from your phone? Or does it only work from heat detection?
