This is a great video Lee. Could you make an update to this, any new elements to the routine and progress made by continuing those actions you spoke about in the video?

Great lessons as always from Lee here. I still have the motivational notes I wrote down from Lee's early lockdown video 2020 on staying focused. My sincere gratitude and respect to Lee for steering me in the right path.

What you discuss, Lee, is very much in line with traditional Stoicism which is 'philosophy' as a way of life, a way of living a fulfilled life. This means living a life of personal excellence (arete), being the best 'you' that you can be. This is achieved through practicing practical wisdom, courage, integrity and self-control (e.g. cold showers, self-denial). Importantly, true Stoicism - unlike the modern bastardised self-help version - was more spiritual, effectively a religion in itself. 'God' within traditional Stoicism permeates all of creation, so the Universe itself is God and therefore the Universe is a conscious, living entity. The manifestation of God that we experience is Nature, of which we are an important part. Therefore, one should live 'according to Nature', that is understanding the role the Universe has given to humans and to you as a particular human. This can mean living simply, eating healthily - in some views a vegetarian diet even - looking after your body through exercise, enduring hardship to build the character, etc and a commitment to being the best that you can be.

I did not know that, very interesting just seems like logic to me! If you can only control what is in front of you, in terms of you and your immediate environment then it seems like a good place t start to build forward momentum and remain constructive! Thanks for the feedback! Lee M
