I can't understand why anyone would thumbs down these videos. They're a complete walk through to awesomeness with wood. Must be jellousy is all I could think of. I just wish I could learn to edit a video.
Beautiful craftsmanship that I'm sure you are proud of. What did you use as the first coat base finish before using the lacquer? Did you sign it or put your mark on it? Hopefully your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren will have it in their homes as an heirloom!
The plane is beautiful. Is it a traditional Korean design? I am unfamiliar with this plane's form, but I find it very beautiful and functional. Is the core of the plane made of lacewood? Whatever species you have used, it certainly is an excellent choice insofar as appearance is concerned. I have just discovered your You Tube site and I intend to watch and study your videos. It is a pleasure to watch you work. Thank you and best regards.
15:10 How do you adjust the depth? I see a chip breaker and iron, but the way they're mounted with the lever cap screw going through the chip breaker and iron, it doesn't give much ability to adjust the depth.
making such a nice tool as you have, I think it is a real shame that it gets lacquer. Better use a buffing wheel and give it some wax og a high grade natural oil.
very good work, which speaks well of your dedication. just a detail that is becoming very common among those who hold the name of carpenters or other trades. not having respect for the activity that also implies risk. and it is: not wearing a suitable stunner for work, in addition to those horrible sandals that also make the worker look very bad, vastly effeminate. Regards.
From 10:54 to 11:41, it looks like you're adding epoxy to the top of the frog area. But, why? Is it maybe to fill the top of the counter-sunk screws and any minor voids which might be on this surface? I followed along with your logic in all other aspects, just as well as if you'd narrated your actions. But at this point, I could not see your motivation.. Also; do you adjust the iron in the same way you would on an old wood-block plain? Thank you. I love your videos and I am now a subscriber!
I'm sure I'm not the first to say that it is beautiful...AND seems functional...very nice. How do you advance the iron...? Tapping like a wooden plane?

15:10 How do you adjust the depth? I see a chip breaker and iron, but the way they're mounted with the lever cap screw going through the chip breaker and iron, it doesn't give much ability to adjust the depth.

Man always impressed with your videos. Another beautiful plane. Great woodworking sir.
Wonderfull plane. But what did the metall plate under the nife?
(Sorry for my English)
That's steel frog,
It has to be that it has a good center of gravity, so the planes are very good.
That's a great job, I have one question. Where did you get the cap iron and hold down ?
I made ~
check it my video : ruclips.net/video/VDhfxb0Ww9E/видео.html
