I mean.. didn't the game put "Recommended" on all five of these characters? :) The toughest choice at the moment for me, is who to actually buy. Fighter currency is sort of rare and slow to trickle in. Am currently at just over 7k fighter currency at a little over a week. Especially if you did not play the beta, and do not yet have the battlepass. I'm worried that later, certain characters will be needed for rifts and missions. So am trying to figure out which ones get you the most progression.
