- Steam has returned to the East Broad Top! No way I could pass up the chance to see the 16's public debut. The locomotive was restored to operation in 2023 after setting idle since 1956. Thank you, East Broad Top, for a great show! The Winter Spectacular had some rarely used equipment out on the line. In addition to 2-8-2 # 16, the railroad's M-1 and M-3 were out and the trolley museum had an assortment of cars running throughout the day.
The railroad is making improvements on many fronts. The recently cleared track south of Orbisonia was never something I expected to see but can't wait to get back and ride that section.
The future is looking bright at my favorite place!
