Into High Country Episode 1 Season 11 Jason bowhunts bull Elk across his home state of Montana until finally connecting on one of his biggest bulls yet...
Jason, all your videos are immersed with class and grace... Your reverence for the animals and the resource is truly a breath of fresh air in todays fast paced, commercialized world. Love watching each one, stay true to your roots brother...See ya on the mountain one day- And... Great bull doode!!
As a Montana native and fellow bowhunter, I could not agree more with your impeccable vision of our religion! Great respect Jason! Bozeman Senior High Class of 1986!
Howdy Jason. Yes it is never the same when I hunt elk. There are some similarities, but different. Sometimes it is difficult to even find elk and one can be at a loss. Best of luck in all of your future elk adventures! Thank you Jason! Later on Sir......
:) callin dad :) awesome bud ,, gotta tell ya , you and nate simmons have something special with your vids and ways , i definitely connect in your stories and hunts ,, you do things differently and it is sooo seen . thanks so much for lettin an old guy experience your hunts and relive mine :) .
Congratulations on a great bull. Your videos not only show the hunt in visual terms, but I "feel" the journey more in yours. Regardless of how you do it, your films are far more than a visual history, I end up leaving having a memory of a hunt I was never on. Thank you Jason
Great video and awesome elk. You have a way putting in two words how I feel about hunting. It’s not always about the killer it’s about the experience watching these animals in their own habitat has always been a treat to me. Being able to watch them undetected is always a great experience. Then when you called your dad and shared the joy of your harvest was heart warming. Congratulations on a beautiful bull.
Another fantastic video Jason, I particularly enjoyed the phone call with Dad...brought back many memories for me and the times I was able to share with my father my hunting experience. Savor these moments my friend, there are times I wish I could make just one more of those calls. Love the way you tell the story of the hunt!
Beautiful bull! No better way to start out what excites me about a new year by watching the reason for that new year excitement! When you spend the better part of every day for 11 months dreaming, strategizing and planning for ea September( it makes me smile when that calendar year flips over! It’s down and dirty now. 8 months flys by in a heartbeat. It’s great to see that it can done in heavy winds. So many times, I just sit in camp and think it’ll be less windy at dusk. Well done on that stalk. Happy New Year Montana!
Great Video! Very well put together, I love how you talked about every aspect of hunting, the commentary is spot on to what I believe hunting is all about! Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Thank you! I sure appreciate that. The high winds came in clutch on this stalk. They couldn’t detect movement or sound plus the wind was blowing so hard it eliminated the threat of swirling winds.
Awesome Bull! He has great antler color. I have been watching you awhile and I know you have been going after a 7 point elk. Is he the one you have the shed from or no?
Haha! I’m happy you enjoy the content. When the show is on airing on TV I usually put all of my focus there. I am excited to upload a bunch more content in the coming months.
@@jasonmatzingerofficial I didn't know you were on TV! Cool! We don't have tv by choice so you tube is where I go. I love the purpose behind your hunts. I have been looking for a proper explanation for why I hunt and it really is hard to put into words but I'd say you really sum it up! It's a connection like none other. I would be honored to meet you some day, give a shout if you make it to the Bitterrroot valley.
I have been looking forward to watching your films from 2020. The cinematography is always outstanding as well as the storytelling. You are the Morgan Freeman of narrating hunting videos. Congrats on your long awaited archery bull there Jason.
Out of all hunting shows I’d have to say you take the cake with your video/cinematography skills hands down! Thank you for such top notch content, my only complaint is I want more can’t get enough 😂
It costs me much more money to hunt public land because of the costs of film permits. I am also limited as to where I can even go depending on the specific permit. Plus, hunting on private doesn’t ruin anyone’s public spot through exposure on the show. That’s the last thing I’d want to do...
Simply breathtaking
Thanks Jason
Thank you!

Did the Cats win that day?
They lost to Northern Arizona I believe.
Great Bull, hell of a stalk.

I mean cinematography skills would actually show either of his shots
Always good footage Jason. Sure wish you didn't have to pay so much money, to hunt private property.
I sure appreciate that! Thank you!
