Congratulations on a big brute of a buck 🦌 he looks similar to the one you passed on the first day with the broken brow tine. I couldn’t imagine archery hunting in the snow but I am sure that heater is a game changer and toe saver. A friend of mine went to Saskatchewan with his father too and got a big heavy and dark antlered and bodied buck too. They’re on a whole new level body wise up there.
If I had a choice between Hunting in Iowa or Saskatchewan, I would diffently choose IOWA. Sitting over a bait in a blind seems really boring to me personally. He's probably right when he says the woods are really thick, and it's hard to shoot deer through thick cover. Maybe the deer density is really low per square mile, that be could be a factor as well. I would rather have the choice of shooting a deer in a tree saddle or hunting on the ground. The lack of strategy for that of style hunting makes it a very boring hunt for me . In Wisconsin, we can hunt different types of terrain habitats, marshes, swamps , hills, big woods, and farm country. I realize killing a 200" buck is a very difficult task for anyone, but I would rather shoot a 6 point buck and enjoy myself. I am sure he worked very hard choosing the right spot to bait the deer. I would enjoy shooting a trophy buck too, but in the type of situation, it would become very boring to me . If that was my only option for bowhunting deer, I would quit and just do fly fishing for steelhead. He probably really enjoys sitting on the bait pile. That's probably a really exciting experience for whitetail hunting .One man's trash is another's pleasure 😊
I’m a avid mule deer hunter from Ca ,that knows a big deer when I see em ! Visited my relatives in preiceville sk ,they had a couple that I knew would go 185 + just hanging in the rafters ,it was no big deal to them . Would of loved to hunt those big sk white tails with them ! But they have all passed on . ❤️👍
Super nice buck Jason. Got him with a bow too! That takes some doing in that cold as you well know. I was amazed at the color phases in the different deer coming in or was it that some were wet? Anyways, congrats. I love your videos......so well done.

It is alfalfa. It is a common hunting practice in areas with thick cover. Helps insure taking the right animals at the right time. It is interesting, thank you!

What's a score hunter? I hunt for mature animals and use all of the meat. Score is a reference to health & overall size of that animal. It takes healthy habitats to create healthy and mature animals. I have also never let my taxidermist "take care of it". If I am not proud of the hunt , experience, and animal I don't shoot them. I appreciate your perspective and taking the time to watch. It’s alfalfa. We use Corn when we go an the Alfalfa Horse cubes the Deer there love both because never get it in the Big Woods!
