I ordered one and it should arrive tomorrow! Thank you for the review. You definitely sold me on it.
try cleaning the "dry palette" with Windex (or other glass cleaner) - leave for a couple of minutes, then wipe clean.
This looks really decent, however with shipping and import costs into the UK it doesn't really represent good value to me.
same in canada. its either 50usd or 75 cad. seems like a lot for something i used to make out of a tupperware, paper towel and parchment.
I’m not willing to spend that amount of money it really ain’t worth it
Great video! I just picked one of these up for myself.
seems like a GREAT tool!! thanks for sharing!!
This look decent.
New drinking game. Every time Luke says "wet palette" = shot of your choice.
My liver says no.
This looks juicy. Having a dry pallet is a plus. Air tight is right!
just ordered one getting it tomorrow between 10am and 3pm I can't wait to use it thank for the vid
Great review and a lot of excellent points, thanks!
I picked one of these up about 6 months ago after watching your review, and I love it. The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was the double wet. I ended up turning the top part in too a dry brush pallette. Now it's perfect.
Looks just like the Redgrass games palette (which is very good) but with paint pots and a brush holder added…
The reasmblance is remarkable., Indeed, Up to the imprinted Logo in the sponge and the grey rubber band they abandoned with their V2. However, almost everything Luke Said about this one can be applied tonthe redgrass Game one to. And the new "small" one is a Bit bigger and they managed to create reusable paper. Really worth a try.
Loving the outtakes!!!
You sold me, Luke! I got one coming in tomorrow.
The outtakes are the best :D
That looks like a sweet wet palette. I've been using the same, cheap a$$ wet palette for a while now. Bought it because I wasn't sure I'd like a wet palette or not. Turns out I do, but I also still like using a dry palette depending on the medium being used and the size of the project. I like how it all fits in one unit, that it's air tight, and the sponge keeps water for a long time which is a plus for me. My present wet palette dries out rather fast which is a PITA when doing larger projects. That alone is a selling point for me. Free shipping on Amazon here in the US, so I'll definitely be picking this up 🙂
Thanks. Good deal for us in the States. I ordered one as it looks real nice.
horrible deal for everywhere else. Everything costs like 2x more to get in canada. I bought a $400usd car part, and after taxes and duties and shipping it came to over $1000 cad. with the exchange rate it should have been more like 550-600.
I have been bothering Josh about this palette since I sussed it out on one of his videos. Can’t wait for this to come in!
Sorry I had to keep you in the dark haha
@@ThePickleJar no worries brother! Just excited we finally got to see it. Already ordered mine. Was appreciated that Luke threw up the US link too
Well ya sold me. Figured it's worth a try. I started out with a DIY wet palette, it was ok. Moved on to the trusty Sta-Wet which has been good but the depth is annoying. This looks like the the sides are much lower which should make my paint sessions more enjoyable!
There are 2 or 3 that all look the same like this one on Amazon, but I ended up getting this one. As long as I’m not paying an-arm-and-a-leg for something that works just as the good as the real deal, I’m good with it.
Thanks for the vid.
I bought this one recently, and it was my first wet palette. I realised it was a little small and I bought a second one of a different brand, before then realising, I could have also just used the lid if I needed a little more room for more colours😂 I so far really like it.
Lol I've always used those thin soft coloured sponges with greaseproof paper and water and it's worked a treat the downside is wrestling with greaseproof paper hate that stuff lol
Thank you. I have the Mastersons, and it's warped, and the paint tends to run. So, I've been looking for a better one. I saw this, and I'm glad it has a strong endorsement by a badass professional hobbyist. Looks like I'm adding it to the list. Although, I would like it to be bigger, double-sided or not.
I'm still wondering how it compares to the exemplar.
I like the price and that it is compact. The whole thing, for $30, comes with 50 sheets which is really nice and 50 more sheets are a little over $10 and come with 2 more sponges. I have a huge wet pallet and it is really good but I do rare small painting sessions because I am not a professional, I do this every once in a while. With something like this I could do a week's worth of painting sessions, throw the paper away, dry out the sponge and then come back a few months later with a new clean sheet of paper. With my current pallet those sheets of paper are rather pricy and I tend to leave them thinking I will get back to them and then they start to mold and it is a mess. I am going to have to try this out!
Copper pennies actually help prevent mold
ended up getting mine for $25 today I'm excited
Great stuff friend 👏 👍
Ordered! Darn you Luke!!! 😂😉
Cool..... Soooooo I made one :) first attempt was cack.
So I used an old Pyrex dish top, with another top as a lid. Paints have stayed on the home made pallet for 3 days!! just using grease proof paper, and it works grand too :) managed to get some epic color fades.
Oh.. rather than a sponge.. I just use loads of kitchen paper ;) and I just use tap water.
Seriously, Greece proof works fine.I have used 3 different brands now, and the all work very very well.
The best is a sponge towel for the dish rack
@@joek600 nice.. Im amazed at how well half descent kitchen paper does, especially with the Glass lid of the Pyrex dish Im using....
Litteraly just grabbed what was to hand.
mixed a few colour this time yesterday
, just taken the lid of the wet pallet, and the paint is waiting to go!
@@jayw9879 I used paper towel and parchment in a plastic tupperware for years, only annoyance was the high edges. but this simple set up works great. I like the idea of using a glass dish.
@@Born_Stellar The idea came from watching one of the GW master class paint vids. I noticed that the lass painting, just had a few wet sheets of kitchen paper, with a sheet of greece proof over the top. no container! I first used a metal tin lid from xmass cheese crackers, but the coating on the tin failed fast and rusted.. (hilarious) so I then remembered I had loads of old pyrex glass dish lids. the cold glass in its self is ok for a dry pallet too.
Id imagine many many things work... I doubt id ever pay a chunk of money out though, especially with how long some of the paints have lasted with an extra lid ontop. 5 days the black is still wet! finger is now covered!
the dish is circular in shape.. with the wing edges to grab hold of.
Ordered!
I've been using the underside of the same CD for a palette since 2010, it's now about 10mm thick with paint.
Which CD?
@@michaelhornbek2983 Nickelback.
@@harazhangf5782 better than listening to it. I've heard it calls forth a flannel clad level 45 funion golem.
Yes one of the best pallets ever. Been using it way before you had to buy a pallet.
Do you stick your thumb in the hole?
great stuff friend
So after the discount plus vat plus delivery it’s £37.38 for those in the Uk. Left it in the basket as it does not seem great value to me
yep, over $75 canadian rupees here.
welp i got onemyself and im excited to use it - still suck at painting but getting better
For cleaning out the dry pallette I modified one one of your tips for cleaning brushes - I use a squirt of alcohol hand gel - wipes out really clean with a bit of tissue. Much easier than faffing around with cling film
I let the paint build up, makes me feel more accomplished! lol
Progress tracker :D
The Artisan Shoppe, eh?
The out-takes really cracked me up.
My sponge don't even come close to filling up the whole space like yours does.
Great solution for a dry palette is a silicone pop fidget toy.
It is sad how the content on this channel turned into advertisement solely. It started to resemble a home shopping TV channel.
Go cry about it.
@@archdeluxe290 more rage
I don't fault him for pushing his own stuff, but it seems to me the truth is more like: 'its just another effing wet pallette guys'
@@Born_Stellar he was honest about the product and made this video because people kept asking what it was when seeing it in videos. Seems reasonable to me.
Holy smokes I’ve trying to find this palette for months!
Been thinking about a wet palette for a while and after watching the vid thought why not, Luke normally talks sense, never steers his loyal followers wrong, gives his viewers cheap reliable affordable products. Not this time, only available in the US so have to pay delivery charges and the same goes for replacement pads and sponge, I think I'll get one that's UK based. Great videos though.
Listening to this ad id just recommend ak, cery similar in that it has two usable sides, it doesn’t have the dry pallet but is super cheap last I checked. Double O ring seals and big sponges so I literally only top up when I clean it at the end of the week
If you want Something very similar andnof great quality from Europe, I believe reliably available in the UK, try the Red Grass Games everlasting Wet Palette. Really good, using the First Version for years and never let me down. They also make my favorite brushes.
Eyup, I hope this is coming back in stock? Finally decided to bite the bullet and move on from the RGG palette today and amazon says it doesn't know when it's due back in? Hope you're all good anyway Luke o7
i like it i cant reuse the paper to. i wash it to get the paint off an let dry. an it works great.
The the one thing I hate about wet pallets is when the foam dries up it doesn’t fit back in the box and warps. Can the foam dry up and slip back in ?
Cool was on the lookout for another wet palette, , thank you for great review :) ordered now :)
Just ordered mine. Thanks a bunch.
Double wet palette till you close it up though.
Palette! Palette! Palette!
Hi! I just bought this, and I'm a bit confused about the "Disposable blister shells" included. What are they, how am I supposed to use them, what is their purpose, and whats the reason for them matching the dry palette?
I'm really new to painting so please forgive my newbish questions, thank you!
Looks good. Happy enough with my AP and RG palette but if I had neither and wanted a new one this look very good.
I love using a wet palette because I'm a slow painter who works with acrylic. The issue I encounter is that the paper on my current palette really wrinkles. Does this paper stay fairly flat? Thanks for the great review!
I use spontex (another £1 shop item) for my sponge and it works really well too
How do you even get it open with out the paint going everywhere? The lid of the wet lid does not come off easily. Pretty much makes it useless.
Looks great. Got one at half size?
Very reasonable! 8)
You've finally done it you maniac, you've gone and made me buy a wet palette 🤣
Does it come with an extra sponge, for when you use the lid as a 2nd wet palette?
Unique multiuse XL triple palette paint tray. Painting palette for artists, or wet pallete with 2 sponges & palette paper. Covered plastic paint mixing painters palette tray - from the product description on the Amazon page.
What kind of palette is it again? I didn't catch it
Only 35 US on Amazon. Might have to give this a shot. Grtting tired of the army painter palette, about the run out of stuff for it anyway. Plus, I use their brushes, so why not!
Looks pretty good, I'm using a ferrero rocher box atm and it's doing great work but I'll keep this in mind if/when it makes it over to UK stockists
Ferrero Rocher boxes rules. It’s square, flat and seals perfectly. I’m using sponge towels and baking paper. Btw I live in Greece, so if this solution works for the 40C Greek summer, then it can work anywhere. For the washes I’m using plastic disposable palettes by Pebeo. They are small, rectangular and with very deep wells. Cost about 5 euro a package of 10 and you can wash and re-use easily.
Love the outtakes guys!!
can you add a link to the paint shaker too please
Cheers Luke ,
may have to look into one of these ,
Luv~Luv~Luv 🐺
Iv been doing some research looking on the market, this one sofar looks like it may be the taker. Have you seen army painters new xl pallet?
Give that man a job on QVC! 💪😂
That name though!? If you’d have shown me this on April 1st I’d have thought you were pulling my plums mate!
'olde' is pronounced old, and 'shoppe' is pronounced 'shop'. they used to spell words differently but they didn't pronounce them like twats!
@@Born_Stellar 😂
Any idea if this has latex or not? After nearly going to the hospital due to the GSW palette, I am hesitant.
I have a GSW pallet but am not allergic to latex. what part has it?
@@Born_Stellar The sponge is latex on the GSW one, and a few others. The AK Interactive one has latex in the seal, IIRC.
Army painter doesn't have latex, but their sponge doesn't work as well. Had to do a LOT of digging to find this out.
Have you thought about doing a video on terrain for zona alpha? Crashed alien ships soviet ruins/ facilities etc could be cool
“Where does he get these wonderful toys?!” Loving the idea of brush holder storage for easy access and portability!
What are the brushes you are using in this video? I've been trying to find brushes with a finger grip like that for years

Hmmm the new Redgrass pallete is 'meant' to be out soon 🤔 might of sold me on this
Luke you are a nut thanks
the only fault i can find is that the dry pallet isnt siliconized so you dont have to use cling film. pallet 2.0?
Why is there no offer for europe?
I was just in the market for a new one. I've got the Masterson's one currently. It's served me well, but the sponge is starting to fall apart. Have been considering trying something else out, and this seems like a good one to try out.
Can tell you've been on a diet btw well done sir 👌🏻
I have no problem with sponsorship or adverts, but I've looked at this and other than the dry palette bit, which I can buy for a quid anywhere, it looks exactly like the Redgrass palette I bought 2 or 3 years ago, even down to the strap. I really like your videos and I watch a lot, but this is from a random unknown company and looks a lot like a cheap copy.
Fully agree
D'Artisan Shoppe has been around since 2014 and is well known in the Fine Arts community.
My takeaway from this review is that the product is a wet palette that performs as a wet palette should, while incorporating a dry palette in case one does not need a wet palette, or needs both a wet palette and a dry palette. Is that a fair summation of your evaluation?
In any event, it so happens that I am awaiting delivery of a Game Envy Exemplar wet palette, which, I understand, is also a wet palette. Furthermore, since I have ordered and paid for it, it is literally the wet palette I have been waiting for and continue to wait for until such time as it is delivered, at which point I will no longer be waiting for it because I will have it.
Good day, sir.
Think I'll stick to my home made wet pallet. A water tight tupperware box with a rubber seal, a bit of kitchen roll and a bit of non-stick silicone baking paper. Does the same job for way less money.
I used that for years, the only reason I upgraded to a GSW pallette was it was only $15, and I don't like the high edges of the tupperware. But I'm sure you could find a better container for like $1.
I like the pallet and want to buy one. But its sold out and not available to buy from Amazon.nl to let it ship to Belgium
You can buy it right now on Amazon.com (it's available and delivers to Belgium) and if you use Luke's link, you get an additional discount.
Looks great, import cost is too high though so not for now. If they ever start selling in the UK properly I'd be in.
Nice wet Palette!
Damn, Luke, you can move some product. Went to order a second pallet as a gift and they're already sold out.
They're still available on Amazon.com. Make sure you use Luke's link to get the 15% off coupon first though.
how can we order from u.k please?
No different then Regrass plus Redgrass bring out their new palette

Looks decent beware the grifter
Looks an excellent product but I’ve just brought a new one from army painter🤦♂️☹️☹️
Can't see a time when I would need a wet pallet, Question how much paint dose it actually save when using it ? It works but it still seems like another gimmick to spend more money on. Thanks for sharing but it's not for me.
The diy version that can cost under 2 euro, can really make a difference in the waste of paint and more importantly of the mixes you created.
How much paint waste are you taking about ? I don't waste very much without a wet pallet. When I mix paints when painting I still don't waste much, I finish what I'm working on. Yes I've seen D.I.Y one's which if I needed one I would go down that route. Each to there own way it's just not for me. 😎
@@June1815VICTORY A wet pallet is really nice if you want to be finished painting for the day but don't want to throw out all of the paint you mixed. It can save that paint for quite a long time and it also keeps everything from drying out while you paint for long periods of time.
How much paint are you talking about ??? A few drops I racken. Yes it is useful but the amount of paint you save is not worth the cost of buying one and the sheets that are needed. I would not use one even if it was free.
@@June1815VICTORY As much paint as you put on the pallet? As much as you want, basically. No one's forcing you to use one lmao but they're not useless
Well I'm convinced.
Finally I will throw away the Ferrero Roche box that came full of nice chocolates at the price of 7 euro, and seals PERFECTLY without ever warping. Now I can get this nice posh-palette at the price of 30 euros + shipping +import tax + local VAT + special local post fee, unless I want to spend the day at the customs office. I’m ordering one right now!!

@@joek600 then why were the vast majority of commenters wanting to know what this pallet is and were happy he made this video?
@@archdeluxe290 i mentioned the channel’s target group. Not the comments of a specific video. Only Luke knows how many of the commentators are actually subscribers. Since you seem to hunt down any negative comment for this overpriced shit, you probably know that the vast majority of the comments are neutral or negative and only a minority made a really positive comment about the product. About the product I say again in case you want to confuse people’s sympathy for Luke with sympathy for this overpriced turd that probably performs worse than a Tupperware.
I've got to say, I find a simple straightforward review like this far more compelling than a load of hyperbolic bs promising the sun and delivering nothing. I am intrigued and I'm going to have to check it out. Thanks for the review.

It's a vortex mixer by Four-Es Scientific.
They're not cheap.
Long time since this post but just in case.
@@RylanStorm Thank you; you are appreciated
Def a Red Grass Games ripoff. It's got some cool extra features... but it's def a rip that I doubt they paid licensing for.
Looks pretty cool. Still not really interested in paying like 45$ (Canadian, after conversion and import whatnot) for a wet pallette.
My current one is based in the lid of a snap-on Tupperware from the dollar store, using extra thick paper towels and as you mentioned in your video, parchment paper. Just use a couple cards to push apart the paper while it's soaking in the water and you shouldn't have too much issue with it clumping up.
(edit: typo)
well its like 35+15 USD for me, so thats more like 65-70CAD.
You mentioned putting cling film over the sponge? Yeah, that might keep the sponge clean as long as no color runs down off the paper into the inside of the pallette. But then there won't be any osmosis anymore and the colors will dry out if you keep it open for longer periods of time! And if it is open for a short time only and then close it for longer the fumes will probably enter into the sponge anyways and there is the danger of mold back again! So that won't work all to well... If you meant to line the palette itself before putting the sponge in it will probably work of course. Needs to be cut right at the pallette edge then, else it could touch the colors if too long and pull colors into the inside, be too short with the same effect or, if you fold it around the edge, keep the lid from closing tightly! 😉 It may be a bit more elaborate but regular cleaning is probably the best way! Imho... 😄
Picked one up
Price + delivery cost = amount + duty = amount + VAT = total price per pallet. On my terms, it's a high price.
It's really looks cool and it's about the size of my current home made one. But it's just sad the shipping+VAT+duty makes it so expensive :(
Come back to EU guys :(
A £1 shallow clip top plastic tub plus free leftover sponge from local furniture upholsterer with about 10p worth of greaseproof paper on the top works fine for me. Seems a waste of money and time to splash out on something like that when I could buy a load more paints or models instead.
This should've really had a #AD infront of it as that's all it is.
