Thanks Tim haha. I want to say the first time I did Fernet like that was 9 years ago but the reaction was scared forever haha. I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for your support buddy
As a Canadian I approve this, and can confirm around Toronto we love it!! Rittenhouse is a great sub for a straight rye, but if you can find Lot 40 it is more authentic.
This is in my top 10 favourite cocktails! I love it and enjoy a Toronto cocktail whenever I remember to make one! I love using Canadian Rye which is superb, 100 Rye and sometimes I use Bulleit Bourbon but being in Vancouver I love accessing Canadian Rye! Lot 40 is my favourite - fabulous!! Fernet is a love of mine! Spectacular!! Ice is a big part of the cocktail for me. I make clear blocks of ice!! 🙂
Great stuff, Gabe.I , too, have been enjoying tFernet- Branca after dinner and have been looking to pickup Rittenhouse, but would have to use Templeton.
Be careful recommending cocktails that tastes of dirty and possibly poisonous roots. Fernet can be good in small quantities hidden behind other flavours as long as the flavour blends. Fernet coke is a bit on the right way but not really there. My bottle of Fernet will probably last five years and I like to drink.
Well done Gabe. Those Fernet shots will put hair on your chest. Haha!
Takes a lot of training to love fernet haha

No worries on the Rye whiskey! Honestly, use your favorite. If you really want to go traditional I would recommend a Canadian Rye
Fernet seems like a rite of passage for bartenders
I always wanted a Fernet coin. Fernet swag is the best kind of swag
Recipe called for 6 parts rye but you only put 2oz I don’t understand
