Goodie Mob started catching the attention of high schoolers at that time who were looking for that voice that wasn't typical "Gangsta Rap". That "Cell Therapy" is hypnotizing music as soon as the piano starts. Goodie Mob was indeed ahead its time and should be recognized as being the ones that help change Hip Hop forever and put the Dirty South on the map. Legends since Soul Food.

The funny thing is he's not going to tell you that there's a much deeper meaning to the cell therapy Theory. He was about to get deep and then caught his self if you watch closely. Cujo understands that Cell Therapy often deals with live test subjects, graphed and documented mutation of the host. This is why in the verse he brought up slavery the Holocaust in contrast with early American housing projects.

As a girl in the suburbs back then i had zero exposure to rap; once i heard cell therapy I was hooked!!! I thought FINALLY some artists with some insight, intellect and balls !!! Still my altime fav song; nothings cuter than watching me break it down as a 41 year old yoga teacher and life coach!!🤣🤣
Gotta bless the rap radio stations and college radio in NC for putting me on to lyrical hip-hop back then, mid-90s. Otherwise would have missed out on the golden age of intellectual hip-hop. Didn't get much exposure in the small towns and suburbs back then.
