    I still remember that day in 2002 when all the Hip-Hop news websites reported that Khujo Goodie fell asleep behind the wheel, crashed, and had to have his leg amputated. We're lucky to still have this brother with us today 🙏

    I remember as a little girl like 6-7 listening to the lyrics hearing them speak about shit like curfews and asking my dad when I was younger. I then went and found the whole album and thinking idk what this is but this makes me feel a way. Soul food is my #1 hip hop album. Thought process always hits me like a joint and leaves me stuckkkk lol. This interview is golden to me. I don’t see a lot of goodie mob talk soooo this is what I needed.

    Dungeon Family as a whole are forreal hip hop pioneers. I dont think people realize still how difficult it was for the South to be taken serious in hip hop.     I'm from South Central Los Angeles. Whn Cell Therapy came out, i bought the CASSETTE SINGLE nigga ! Lol. I used to bump the hell out of it ! And the B-side was Soul Food. Those were the days (depending on the kind of boombox i had) of just hitting a button and flipping from A-side to B-side. Because of this interview, yesterday i found and listened to the whole Soul Food album kz I'd never heard it before. YEA I KNO...I NEED MY AZZ KICKED !
    Listening with a 2020 ear, i see that the quick instrumental at the beginning of the song Soul food was sampled by DJ Quik on his song Down, Down, Down. GENIUS ! Take a listen and compare...
