Man.. Big Gipp is a great storyteller! He’s been all over the internet dropping jewels 💎 and sharing some fantastic musical history. Big ups to the Gipper!
I went to Goodie, Fugees, and Roots concert at St Andrews (Detroit). Dopest concert I’ve ever been to. All live bands. More intimate setting. Fck dem’ stadium shows.
Next to Legends
Three of the very best groups to hear live.
Wow!!! Now that's a show!
He got my respect I never heard a rapper speak of Queen Lauryn like that! 💯🙌🏿
The Mob was a force, they had us thinking. Whenever this happens, the powers that be with break it up. No one can ever take that away. Cell therapy was a eye opener. Soul food told you about fast food. Dance no more, how we got lazy in our dancing. And the main part, always acknowledging the creator. Goodie Mob has it place in history. Even if they didn’t make the big bag.
After 2 albums ok
@@jamesjones4309 it’s not how many, it’s the substance.
Nobody was checking for those weirdos FOH
@@tdashjtj Uhhhh their first few albums went Gold.
@@emlawncare3613 yeah in Atlanta lol
Sky high was my shit gipp went hard
It's called Black Ice
"i got that new gangsta trick CD, sky high sky high" - lol
Nobody talk about cee lo first album lyrically amazing
for real i still bumped that album til this day
Facts!
Still in my rotation... absolutely a masterpiece!!!
Classic!
Big Gipp a real one when he do interviews you can tell everthing is 💯
I suddenly have the urge to listen to Cee Lo's verse from O.M.N.I. Goodie MO B are legends...salute!
Still Standing...still in rotation ✊🏾
Gipp can tell a story and the story he told answered my question I always wonder about..Gratitude....
Dang STILL STANDING was a blur to him? That’s like one my favorite albums of all time ! They were really putting people on with that one I hope he knows that album was groundbreaking and literally shaped me as an artist. Love Goodie Mob.
Ain't better than Soul Food, just my opinion
@@thegeorgiaaquarius and STILL STANDING is MY favorite album… hence “MY” 🙄.
I wonder if the gate was put up to keep crime out or keep our ass in?
I'm from California. Gipp ain't lying. That "get rich wit us" record was knocking. B"s and C' s was walking to that song!
Shit we was gigging up north in the bay too... California was lit to that get rich... we pull up sideways.. get rich to this. We do a 100 on the high way get rich to this. That was the one
World Party was a classic album to me... It really show cased Goodie Mobs well deserved world wide appeal. I saw them rap live, and they are real M.C's that kept ur ones attention through out their set. Respect 👊🏿👍🏿💐
I'm a try to listen to it. Dead Prez did same thing n went totally left.
@@darklight7452what dead prez do ?
We love GOODIE. Thank you for feeding us something of substance. Cali was tuned in
And that was the big mistake. The musical 🎤 🎵 landscape did change but Goodie Mobb provided that soul!! “Can’t stay looking like the Roots.” The Roots are still relevant. Goodie Mobb had a lane!! I’ll never forget the Still Standing album release party at 559 on the West End. One ☝🏿 of the best concerts I ever experienced in life. I will ALWAYS LOVE ❤️ Goodie Mobb!! Shawty should’ve been singing on new Goodie material.
It's 1 b. 2 b's for Mobb Deep.
It's 1 b. 2 b's for Mobb Deep.
That last statement is all FACTS,other genres Help each other put their solo projects togrther, even if it's playing or writing on the album, the crew still gets some opportunities while you do your thang..
But guess what I bet if they announce a goodie mob concert with the original dungeon family it would sell out in multiple cities. With people flying everywhere where. Especially since you can buy ya weed at the venue now! 😅
Still Standing album is classic
Shiiiiiidddd…I’m looking at that outfit!! Big Gipp forever man!! Love big bro 😎
after ceelo left they made
One Monkey Don't Stop no Show
that album is Amazing
dont forget ceelo wore the dress.😐😐
Master P was about quantity over quality.
Straight trash...
i was there when I was living in New Orleans working at a record store. No Limit & Cash Money were really running things.
Steppin Out is my jam! 🔥
CeeLo and gipp always been favorite they something alike
I don’t see that.
@@shlidgn90he speaking n term off funky style
Remember seeing Goodie Mob performed at Hampton University at the Summer of 96 at a block party before their album drop.
Album dropped early fall 95
@@clodge5196 ok then it was after their album dropped. But they was there.
Saw them at a meet n greet at Howard 96..it got cut short cause of folks acting up but it was cool
Big Gip you need your own show lol you have awesome stories that project authenticity. Blessings
Gipp is that dude. He was always ahead of his time. It seems like the whole Goodie Mob were futuristic playaz that were just entertaining back in time.
Bruh just talking he Eveywhere.. everybody & they momma know y’all wasn’t happy C went Solo
A lot of artist have come through Nashville Tennessee just to record for years.
I always like Gipps I got platinum in my mouth 15 yrs ago but Gipp is the first with his mouth white white 😂
💯💯💯
"Ion recall ever graduating at all, sometimes I feel I'm jus ah disappointment to y'all"! C.Low on "Git out and git something".....That voice was like no other and still never duplicated. But dam, Big Gipp is a music Historian, and can make cash anyway he feels like it? Salute to these brothers! ✊🏽👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
That 2nd album was just as dope as the 1st to me.
Get Rich was a classic tho. Goodie Straight Legend.
Ceelo was a problem !! He could rapp an sing !! Remember “ Free “ goodie Mobb !! Man oh man !! Then you had a young Gippie, Chujjo , tee lo , cool breeze !! I mean it goes on !! 😂
I first heard him sing on get up get out on outkast album. I was like damn he singing and got the hardest verse once song. And says alot considering who was on there.
I understand the bitterness that the south had toward NYC but we rocked with certain people from the south. We rocked with OutKast, GMOB, Ghetto Boyz! Believe it or not every party back in the late 90’s and early 20’s played a south set. They’d play Luke, and that bounce ATL!
I was the college student listening to Goodie Mob. Ya’ll are loved and an instrumental piece of the mosaic.
Yeah, me too! Outkast and Goodie were staples in my college life, in fact, both performed in the "Mini-Dome" at The Southern University in Baton Rouge! When I tell you these were the best shows, you can't over exaggerate it!
I like how Gipp is not a hater when it comes to other artist
Agree 💯😌
Big Gipp, respect, love and prosperity to you sir. Thanks for your contributions but I want to see you do a OG album about life at your level from your perspective to modern beats. I know that would break barriers and shift the game on another level. Hiphop is a young man’s sport because young men stop being creative after they become grown men. As if the world don’t need to hear you articulate from a mature perspective.
Everybody give it up to Biggie and PAC but I keep saying our southern rappers were a bigger influence on them.
Man music was crazy then, such a damn difference today when you had to be authentic no matter what. Now everybody sound the same 🤦🏽♂️ an its all shoot shoot kill kill pop a pill or whatever.
Still Standing was actually a better project than Soul Food both classics
Mention Jay-Z name and get all the interviews
Get rich was my jam I was living on the west coast then!!!!!!!!
This guy give the best interview hands down
🤣
Steel sharpens steel 💪🏾 💯
I like Big Gipp because you can tell that he is a real dude with a lot of heart and passion and Goodie Mob are legends in hip hop. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017 to find me.
I’ll always support Goodie. I thought the Age Against the Machine album diverted from the sound that everyone loved. Some of the songs seemed like they would have benn better on Cee-Lo’s solo album or his collaborations with Danger Mouse.
This is a Great story
If this brutha and 2Chains don't look alike..
Gipp gotta pop some Mucinex prior to being in all our ears
Cee lo is super underrated and overlooked
absolutely... not.🙄🙄
Huh? He is a mainstream star.
No gip n khudjo was
Pod production looks good. Tech ppl doing well.
We appreciate that! We trying to get better
@@BadSpeakersTV That's what's up. Keep up the good work.

CRAZY IN ONE TAKE......🤔🤨🧐🙄🤯

It shows that Gipp was never a talent alone, he was stronger in a group.
Bruh...Master P, Club 559, S.W. Atlanta! 👂🏾💪🏾💯👽
Heavy.
Ps Cee Lo , L Boogie and Andre 3000 are 3 of the best artists, ever. It's a trip that they were born 4 days apart from each other.
Pps "Fiending for the taste of menthol. Missed class, stayed in the hall"- Gipp
Aye, Gipp a REEEAL ONE. Gipp is the definition of REAL. Based on what I just heard. Oh, and his music in my opinion. No hate, No salt, just Love and Respect.
I appreciate the explanation.. but Gipp.. Gotta daaaaamn!! Dawg 🤣🤣🤣 that was the longest way to say ... say man we just phased out wot time and xpuldnt keep up.. it is wat it is.. lmao.. but the story was amazing. And worth it still..
I got to Atlanta from NYC in 95..think cell therapy was same year or 96..straight banger. Everybody felt that joint.
I never thought world party was a bad album, thought it was jammin personally. The thing I think hurt that album wasn't the song get rich to this because that was hard, but the song with TLC was corny as hell & they made it a single. I always felt like the label forced that together because they was label mates & TLC fan mail album had blew tf up but it didn't fit it wasn't goodie mob, other than that I thought world party was solid
I wish he knew that Goodie Mob had everything it took to compete. We was all waiting on them to come out with another record. Outcast and Goodie Mob went hand and hand everytime they dropped we was waiting on y’all 🤔 sounds like politics got in the way🤔
Witch doctor was tight too
I don’t get what he meant with the second album. Did it do well or not to him? I loved that album personally though.
Nashville!!!!!! Baby
That World Party album broke my heart… Real talk.
🧢 No Limit was putting out a new album every week lol fym
no question dungeon family did it the best , in hind sight . now future is running the game
For me what killed Goodie mob is that their sound changed
From still standing and then world party
It was great going from soul food to still standing
But world party was just not the same to me and the vibe felt different
They had to change..they couldn’t spit that gangsta sh** cuz they ain’t gangsta, they couldn’t spit that woke sh** no mo cuz the industry wanted more gangsta rappers.. if they didn’t go pop they would’ve been shelved by the record label
@@blkwrld5600 tell me you don’t know what you’re talking about

Agreed! Him and Bun-B are the best....
Real Atlanta 💯
I was like, "How did Mike Rashid get this interview" 😂😢
Y'all have no clue how big of a hit Get Rich to This was. That shit was banging in the middle of nowhere bumfuck country in the damn woods bro I kid you not. They started my love for rap bro and I'm thankful for that. Them, ma$e, and Hot Boy$ had me rapping at the age of 4 no Cap. My parents would make me sing Get Rich to this to their friends because I knew all tha words and nobody else did 😂 I knew at a young age that I loved hip hop and Goodie Mob played a big part of it with that song. I come from literally the smallest town in Virginia. It's actually a village. If Goodie Mob was bumping there where it's still dominated by country music fans, I can imagine that that banger was everywhere. Everybody had a system back then too or you was a nobody so that song I would recommend you listen to it wit a system. That joint bangs to this mf day. I'm thankful that my parents listened to rap. I actually benefitted from them having me as teenagers because of the dope ass music that was banging beside my head from woofers while I was in the back wit no seat belt no car chair lmfao
Did Gipp just say, it was Em, Nelly and Jay Z? He couldn't have said Jay Z 😂 "Only dudes moving units is Em, Pimp Juice and us... ” - 🐐
Great Interview!
Idk I still to this day have those first 3 albums and truth is the 3rd one was garbage compared to the first two, Soul Food was just a classic album that actually spoke to my soul @ that time, that album was waaay ahead of it's time and as a 20 year old black man @ that time it just hit all that I was feeling living and dealing with. For me it's sad to hear there fall off was because they felt they had to go a different way or be something else other then the group that did the Soul Food album. OutKast became OutKast and made it big because the stayed true to who they were in the beginning music wise....Soul Food was something we never had in the south but what we needed and Loved. The West and The South always musically aligned you were never going to get the respect of New York
I love Gipp, but to say it wasn't no break up, is really streatching the dope... "One Monkey Don't Stop No Show" was just pure coincedence.
Facts. People like to change narratives to be diplomatic. It's all documented though.
They were young then. There is no animosity about that old stuff.
@@oliviaabrams I agree but to say thier was no anomosity then, is story telling at its finest.
ATL IN THE BUILDING WOW KNEW SOME BUT hearing it from the source helped thank u
Black ice is legendary in atlanta. It’s up there with heaven or hell and we ready
Gipp giving jewels & shows why the major labels don't let blacks do stuff on their own without major labels input
