    When using prime lens for weddings, you absolutely need two bodies or you either miss shots or risk dropping your lens or damaging your sensor

    I have this lens and just got an a7iv to pair it with. I had been using it with an a7c. I was using a small rig cage to get a bigger grip to help with the weight of the Tamron. It definitely feels better on the a7iv but it is still heavy. I use the Peak Design Cl-3 clutch and it makes a huge difference after a day of shooting.
    Other than that, it is an amazing lens. It is super sharp and the bokeh is great. It is great to be able to keep shooting instead of switching to a 50mm, 85mm or 135mm. I now use my FE 20mm f/1.8 on my a7c if I need a wider shot.
    I’m really happy with this lens especially because it took me almost a year to find one in stock. I’ve had it for 6 months now and do not regret the purchase at all. The good news is that they are readily available now. Buy one.
    Also, the ability to customize the buttons on the lens through the lens directly is also awesome.

      How does it feel with the a7c? I just got my a7cii. I was thinking about buying this lens for travel.

    • @jamesbarron5590
      @jamesbarron5590 10 месяцев назад

      @@hazzard It feels good but I would recommend getting a grip if you are going to be using it all day or a thumb holder/grip that slides into the hot shoe.
      I also used the peak design capture clip on my backpack and that helped a lot as well. I used it a lot without anything but the body and it was fine. It just depends how big your hands are.
      You’ll love the Tamron. I recently used it in NYC and on a cruise and the versatility is fantastic. I also carry an FE 20mm f/1.8 for wider shots.

      Ive been taking photos for 15 years so it's less about the tools for me. I was confident enough after reading reviews and seeing photos from the lens to know it would perform just fine. 😁

    Great video, makes a change form the usual technical guff from people who don't shoot anything! I'm considering at this for my Nikon bodies, looks a stellar travel lens too! Shame it couldn't be f2.8 all the way and have less bulk!

      Quickly. May as well choose 2.8 if you’re going to be zooming in and out.

  • @wendystumbaugh695
    @wendystumbaugh695 Год назад +1

    What I don’t like about using this lens is only user consideration… NOT the lens. So, it does have a variable minimum aperture. Do yourself a favor and just dial in a 2.8. If you dial in anything faster at your wider angles, you’re going to drive yourself nuts as the aperture changes when you zoom in, which will need to either need to change your iso or ss to accommodate.

      Yeah this doesn't bother me at all. One I use flash for a lot of indoor stuff so that basically covers it and if I'm shooting outside my shifter speed is over 1/1000 anyway so a slight shift in shutter speed to fix the drop in light really doesn't take long or cause much disruption. I'm quite used to changing settings on the fly.
