I remember US Politicians supported the Hong Kong protesters back then, when they are burning down shops, facilities and even burning people with different opinions alive, citing democracy and freedom of speech.
The protests in Columbia University and other universities are largely peaceful, much more peaceful than HK protesters. By the same standard, why wouldn't US Politicians support the students?

@michaelrunk5930 - Do you know how many Afgan and Iraqi civilians died as a result of America's invasion of those countries? Were there massive protests on the campuses of American universities when the American government decided to take action after the attacks on September 11th, 2001?! No?! If there were, then those protesters would have been very unpopular in the U.S., since the American government on September 11th, 2001 -- just like the Israeli government on October 7th, 2023 -- felt it necessary to take some sort of action.
(FYI: 'meanwhile' and 'everyone' are each one word and not two words).

She's an English professor and she thinks she knows history, law as in New York City or New York State law, and international law. I wonder what else she thinks she knows everything about. Do you know what she teaches? She's teaching about colonization and post-colonialism and how bad the colonists were and that's the kind of books that they're teaching in universities in the English department these days. She is the problem because the whole problem is that this is oppressors versus the oppressed. She's probably never been to either Israel or Gaza and she thinks she knows everything. She thinks her opinion actually means anything. Professors like her are the problem.

They can explain the rights, liabilities, and culpabilities of the situation. Clearly the protestors--be they students or non-student agitators--are out of control. Who do they think they are? The protest is on behalf of the Hamas, so what does that make them? Terrorists or ignorant pawns? Not once did they denounce the Hamas or demand the entities who finance the Hamas be defunded or ended. Seems pretty clear who they are fighting (not peacefully protesting) for.

In Berkeley, CA, those "very peaceful protesters" occupied a boarded up vacant historic building waiting for restoration and owned by UC Berkeley. The newly elected Berkeley city council member, a UCB student, whose election platform was down to "long live the intifada", sent the letter to UCB demanding that police officers who were sent to escort out squatters leave the building because it may collapse when they enter. This "intellectual" was OK with her friends hanging out the windows putting up posters "free Palestine = free world" in that building, but only police officers created danger.

Which is exactly what was being done, holding cities hostage! Nonsense! You professors use them and put all this in their heads! You support it. What happened to college students learning ??? And higher education? Math, science, majors???? Ridiculous. This would have only gotten worse and you know it lady !

And this is part of the problem at "higher learning" institutes; activist profs who want to relive their glory days of the 60s through their present day students. Present day students and activists attitudes and idea of peaceful protest is nothing like what their predecessors did in the 60s and 70s; those were protests, not occupations.
