لازم المحافظين بتوعهم يهتموا بيهم أكتر من كده المفروض انها محافظات سياحية
انا من محافظة تانية ولما نزلت اسكندرية حبتها جدااا بسبب معمارها القديم كنت حاسة فعلا اني ف مدينة يونانية أو إيطالية قديمة في أماكن و شفت أماكن تانية اتصدمت من التناقض خسارة ان مدينة جميلة كده تتشوه
ده غير ان چوردان لفتت النظر لنقطتين مهمين جدا
أولا عدم اهتمام الحكومة بالآثار في اسكندرية يعني ازاى المية سايبينها كده عند الآثار !!
و تاني نقطة اني لما رحت القلعة تهت زيها برضو 😂😂 المفروض يحطوا يفط إرشادية أكتر من كده لإن المكان كبير جدا و انا كنت عايزة اعرف ده ايه و ده ايه و ايه أهمية كل مكان في القلعة ؟؟!!
و الجيزة اللي المفروض فيها الأهرامات (يعني عجائب الدنيا السبعة) تبقى بالمنظر البشع ده!!
انا قبل ما اشوف الجيزة كنت حاطة في خيالي انها حاجة كده زى الاقصر أو على الأقل زى محافظتي مثلا لكن الزبالة هناك في كل مكان تقريبا (٩٠٪ من الجيزة زبالة) لدرجة اني استغربت ازاى الناس عايشة هناك انا بقيت دايما وانا رايحة القاهرة بعرف اني قربت من القاهرة لما اشوف زبالة الجيزة انتوا متخيلين ان الزبالة بقت علامة للمحافظة 😂😂 !!
فين المحافظين و شركات النضافة في الأماكن دي و حتى القاهرة؟؟!!
يعني اذا مكنش المسئولين هيهتموا بنضافة العاصمة و أهم محافظتين في مصر امال هيهتموا بإيه !!

و الخطة لنقل اسكندرية هناك موجوده لأنها هضبة بارتفاع 28 متر عن سطح البحر.
بس الناس بهايم، ماشيين ورا المقاولين و بيسكنوا في المخالف و يحطوا الحكومة قدام الأمر الواقع،
من زمان مشاريع الحكومة في اسكندرية فستك، و الهدف منها الجذب السياحي، أو السيولة المرورية تجميل الكورنيش و كبرى استانلي، و كمان بمساعدة رجال الأعمال. كل الاستثمار محطوط لبرج العرب و للأسف بيخسر، مصانع بتقفل عشان مش لاقية عمالة في نفس الوقت اللي الشباب بيشتكي من البطالة، مفيش تناقض أكثر من كده. لو تشوف السرعة اللي اتعمرت بيها كل المدن الجديدة اللي حوالين القاهرة تتحسر على برج العرب و جمالها، الناس هاجراها عشان نفسهم يسكنوا في ميامي،

Alexandria is a lot more interesting than I thought! The catacombs look like an ancient secret society temple.

I agree. I was sad to see that area flooded. It was difficult to capture on camera because I was using just my iPhone, and it was very dark, but it was truly amazing. The art and statues and engravings were gorgeous. Hopefully, something will be done soon.
Travellight even if you done it with the phone i can see how beautiful is, i hope they will do something because one day i want to go too to see these places😄 did you have to pay for the catacombs?
Alexandria had bad whether couple of days ago. so I think these floods are temporary and it will be sucked out
Unfortunately the floods are not temporary. They have been there for awhile - if you Google photos of the Alexandria catacombs, all photos of that room show it flooded.
I was there filming this video about 2 months ago.
I had the privilege to be part of the team from Ain Shams University, Alexandria university and the library of Alexandria that 3D scanned the Catacombs and another sites in Alexandria and all over Egypt (www.vircult.edu.eg/). It was an amazing experience to get a chance to visit this locations and we went the extra mile to capture some of the structures and locations that are hard to see. Currently the 3D models are usually only seen by students but with more exposure this would probably change.

You should've visited Al Montazah Palace!! It's so beautiful and amazing place in Alex.. Btw I don't recommend you to try local food because there's lack of censorship on it, so you have to be careful and don't put your health in risk, Jordan. xoxo❤

Your videos are always like delicious treats to me. Thanks for the amazingly beautiful tour of the catacombs, the citadel and the library in Alexandra.
I was in Egypt for three years, off and on. Thank you for taking us through the citadel. When I as there, it was closed. :( and the library was closed too, it being a Friday. I also agreed with all you said in your other video about Egypt being safe. I was 61 when I arrived in Egypt and even I was cat called, and of course vendors tried to overcharge me, but you just have to expect this kind of thing. I made life long friends when I was in Egypt and I agree that it is probably safer than in the states. Cairo comes alive when the sun goes down, so it is not like in the USA where bad people are hiding at night. Women can walk alone at night in Egypt and never feel afraid. I never felt unsafe, except one time, when a merchant in al atabah told my companion to get me out of the particular area we were in because it was not safe for a foreigner to be there. Then I thought maybe there was something to be afraid of but I did not know what. I always cry when I have to leave Egypt( I am usually sobbing as the plane takes off), and I feel a strong urge to go back there again lately. They say if you drink from the Nile, you will always return to Egypt. Well, I must have drunk from the Nile somehow because it is in my soul. I enjoy your videos and you are taking me back to my Egypt days. Thank you and best to you.
The gate/checkpoint in to Alexandria from Cairo was amazing with it's Greco-Roman style.

If you ever make it back to Alexandria "And you should, you still have tons of amazing places to see and ammmmazing food to eat :D ", you should make it to: Montazah, The other parts of the library "there are 2 other main buildings each containing so much art and literature and beautiful architecture not just the one in the video" and to the roman theater.
And you most definitely need to just get lost in Raml Station and Bahary which is a part of where Alexandria is originally built so there is a lot of a mix of roman, European to modern architecture and all forms of cosmopolitan culture there.

Alexandria is one of the few cities in the world where different fragrances mix together in a very rare mixture. Taking a tour throughout the city, you will taste the flavor of ancient times, middle ages, renaissance age, various religions & eventually modernity ..... Mix all of that with, being a coastal city, Truly amazing. I am proud to be an Alexandrian. It's my home, & I feel how GREAT it is when I am away from it. I really miss it too much, hopping to embrace this blend of feelings so soon.
My grandfather served in Alexandria in WWI!!! He was a signals (morse) man in Lancashire Regiment. I often wonder if there is anything to find out about this time and his service in Alexandria. It must have been so very, very different without all that coastal development. He kept a profound love of Egypt after this and passed his interest on to my father who upon retirement went to visit. Even I've got a thing for date palms and camels...

Been there to the Citadel after closing. Was allowed in alone accompanied by one guard with great knowledge. It was amazing!
I just visited these places last a couple of weeks ago and it was just beautiful, but i didn't get to go in the catacombs 🙁

I don't wanna shock you but you explored the old part of the city which was built by Alexander the Great. If you wanna see more go east and you'll find gorgeous places.

Alex deserve more time and a longer video there is too much awesome places you did not visit as long as it is kinda a modern city where you can do a lot .. and i can say it is the first touristic destination for Egyptians themselves from all over the country even before Cairo
Why doesn't the Egyptian government or Office of Tourism install a pump in the catacombs in Alexandria to draw out the water?
